The Title Game - Part Deux

I bought this just for the title- It's one of my many nicknames- and wound up picking up several other collections by this author. He appeals to my warped sense of humor.

Ted, you come up with some seriously interesting titles!"
lol. with the help of GR add book/author search option.

I've read & enjoyed several of Beck's culinary themed mysteries."
By Its Cover by Donna Leon

(I used this book as research for my first Master's thesis; at the time it was first published--1989-- law enforcement believed, for the most part, that women couldn't be involved in terrorism.)

(I picked this up at a used book fair. While it contains some interesting thoughts on the works of D.H. Lawrence, it is sooo boring. My eyelids grow heavy each time I hold the book in my hands.)

This is one of those rare cases where I think I actually liked the movie better than the book!

(I'm currently reading this book. It's a survey of myths, legends, quotations and art associated with "evil" and "devious" women.)

I used to love the anthologies this publisher put out. I don't know if they stopped, or I just haven't seen any lately because I mostly read mysteries now.

(If you know a cat, you can relate to the poems in this small volume.)

Reading it at the moment and am surprised how nice it is so far"
Catka, that's good to know; I've looked at the book several times and just wasn't sure it would be worth the time.
Now my addition:
The Cat Who Saw Red by Lilian Jackson Braun
(I picked up my first The Cat Who book--I think there's about 30 of them--in an airport in 1986 and have been a fan of LJB's light, friendly style ever since.)

(Frans de Waal has done some really great research into the intellect of animals and how they experience empathy. I included some of his theories on 'herd mentality' in an analytic paper.)

(I started out enjoying this but in the end it got too depressing to be considered enjoyable. But Murakami's prose is beautiful.)

(I loved this book...and recently discovered it may have a sequel(s). This book took me on a journey to discover more by Chuck Palahniuk--a lot is satirical/farce.)
