Connie My Mother She Killed Me, My Father He Ate Me: Forty New Fairy Tales by Kate Bernheimer

(This is an interesting, dark collection of fairy tales/short stories as told by contemporary authors from throughout the world.)

Connie The Little Drummer Girl by John le Carré

(Published in 1983 this is a rare le Carre book with a "strong" female protagonist, unfortunately her strength is cliched and thoroughly driven by her sexuality. I didn't really care for the book.)

Fun read by one of my favorite romance authors!

Mickey (liongoddess) | 470 comments How to Wash a Cat by Rebecca M. Hale

This was the beginning of a series that wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped it would be.

Richard Moss | 427 comments Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney

One of my daughter's early favourites (though she's 20 now!)

Connie The Chilbury Ladies' Choir by Jennifer Ryan

(I recently read this one. It was a fun read.)

Mickey (liongoddess) | 470 comments The Little Red Cat Who Ran Away and Learned His ABC's by Patrick McDonnell

I love McDonnell's work. It's both sweetly amusing & occasionally thought provoking.

Mickey (liongoddess) | 470 comments Egg & Spoon by Gregory Maguire

Ted, you got me with the Frumkes title you listed a bit back! My coworker had to come see what I was making me laugh. I actually went to Amazon and downloaded the Kindle version, so I'm coming after you if it's not funny! (kidding, of course)

Connie A Long Fatal Love Chase by Louisa May Alcott

(I discovered this little known Alcott years ago, and it led me to delve deeper into a terrific author who is so much more than "Little Women". She published a lot of gothic tales, many were a commentary on gender inequality.)

Second book of an OK series

Mickey (liongoddess) | 470 comments Old School Evil by Brian Cave

Kindle read, won from Goodreads. It was ok- kind of a love letter to the action cartoons of the 80's & 90's.

Connie Old New York: Four Novellas by Edith Wharton

(Years ago, I read a novel by Edith Wharton and decided I didn't care for her style, then I learned about the author herself--fascinating lady!--and I gave her works another try...glad I did.)
