Bree (breezybaby) | 3 comments What books are coming out soon/have just come out that you are totally psyched about? Or what book are you waiting for from a series that is coming out soon?

The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane just came out recently and I'm excited to read it!

The new Janet Evanovich book. Fingerlickin' Fifteen!

message 4: by SarahSaysRead (new)

SarahSaysRead The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane does look pretty good.

I also am anxiously awaiting the newest installment (book #7) of the Outlander series, "Echo in the Bone".

I too am waiting on that book. I'm excited to continue the series.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I'm sort of amazed that you know about upcoming releases. I have more than 50 books on my shelf awaiting my attention and playing catch-up rather than looking forward. LOL

message 7: by Rachelle (new)

Rachelle I only know of upcoming books of a series I am reading. All the others are foreign to me.

I'm also excited for Sophie Kinsella's newest, Twenties Girl.

Oh I can't wait! I'm going to start re-reading the series soon so it's all fresh in my mind by September.

Elizabeth,
I know what you mean! I usually only pay attention to fave authors or series. And once in a while when I'm bored I go on borders.com and browse their "upcoming" section.

OH, and I almost forgot - A Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss. It's book 2 of The Kingkiller Chronicles, and I think it's supposed to be coming out this summer.

Monica (imelda85) I can't wait for The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane!!! I have had it pre-ordered at Barnes and Noble for three weeks! :)

It's a great series! The characters are quirkly and fun. I'm currently on #9 and I've laughed out loud at every single book.

I met Janet Evanovich at a book signing for Lean Mean Thirteen. She was super nice and funny.

Oh! I've been meaning to check out the Outlander series. My library has them on audio and they sound like good commuting material.

Katie,

By all means, check them out! The Outlander series is just a wonderful set of books. You'll be daydreaming about Jamie Fraser and the Scottish Highlands in no time :o)

Shelby *trains flying monkeys* The Hunger Games second part. Cannot wait! Catching Fire (Hunger Games, Book 2) by Suzanne Collins

Christy (TheReaderBee) (thereaderbee) | 192 comments Cyndi and Katie, thank you for letting me know that they are good books! I can't wait to start the first one now! :)

message 18: by Jennifer W (new)

Jennifer W | 2175 comments Ooh! Shelby, I'm with you! The Hunger Games was amazing!

I'm waiting for Dan Brown's new book this fall, I'm blanking on the name, though.

message 19: by Brenda (new)

Brenda (brenlouhen) When does Echo in the Bone come out?

message 20: by Brenda (new)

Brenda (brenlouhen) I wouldn't listen to them if I were driving... The Outlander series is pretty engrossing. I would forget where I was going or crash! I LOVE that series.

message 21: by SarahSaysRead (new)

SarahSaysRead Brenda wrote: "When does Echo in the Bone come out?"

In September...the 22nd if I'm not mistaken.

message 22: by Peanut (new)

Peanut | 149 comments Hunger Games book 2
Jasper Fforde's new book (I think it is a new series though)
Dan Brown's new book - Lost Symbol

Those are the ones I'm tracking.

message 23: by Monica (new)

Monica (imelda85) I've never even heard of the Outlander series before! Do you girls recommend them? Are they romance novels?

message 24: by Elizabeth (last edited Jun 11, 2009 02:02PM) (new)

Elizabeth (elizabethetherington) Monica wrote: "I've never even heard of the Outlander series before! Do you girls recommend them? Are they romance novels?"

The Outlander series is wonderful! Diana Gabaldon can paint with words, and you start to love the characters. I get so wrapped up in them that I will jump when something exciting happens and drop the book. ;-) I get laughed at for it!

They have a defining romantic factor, but its so realistically written that I would consider it it fiction, metaphysical fiction or historical fiction.

Elizabeth (Alaska) From www.dianagabaldon.com is:

Diana Gabaldon is the New York Times best-selling author of the Outlander series, which tells the story of Jamie Fraser, a Scottish Highlander from the 18th century, and his time-traveling wife, Claire.

message 26: by Monica (last edited Jun 11, 2009 03:20PM) (new)

Monica (imelda85) Sounds fascinating! Thank you!! I am going to add them to my TBR list. The books are really long, too! I love that!

message 27: by Connie (new)

Connie | 4 comments I just finished another one of those dreaded to be continued books! It makes no reference to being a series, but that would be mean, so I am asking if anyone knows if "Sweetwater", by Dorothy Garlock is part of a series, and if I'll see these characters again?

Elizabeth (Alaska) Sweetwater is the 6th in a series, and at this time, the last. I know nothing of this author, but visited http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/ to learn. This is a fabulous site, and worth bookmarking.

I use this site all the time! I have spreadsheets in GoogleDocs for all of my favorite authors & series. That's where I keep track of what they've written, what I have and what the library has on audio.

When the April Date came and it was not released Rothfuss blogged that it wasn't even done writing yet. But then a little while ago (less than a month) he mentioned that he finally sent it off to the publisher for editing. I can't say for sure how long that process will take but I would guess 6 months at least maybe as long as a year so maybe 2010?

KrisT | 553 comments The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane I was lucky to get an ARC of it and read it last month. It was an okay read though.

I can't wait for the next in the Hunger Games either Shelby! Catching Fire

message 34: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cyndil62) | 1774 comments Amanda, I am a Dan Brown fan too and am also eager to read his newest book! If yours is preordered, you will probably read it before me. I look forward to hearing (reading!) what you think!

message 35: by Robin (new)

Robin (robinsullivan) | 37 comments I'm behind on my Brown...I enjoyed Davinchi Code - My "literary friends" cringe when I say that. But have not read Angels and Deamons yet but will get to it some day.

message 36: by Cindy (new)

Cindy (cyndil62) | 1774 comments Robin, I read Angels and Demons first and liked it better than The DaVinci Code. It was a couple years ago and would like to re-read it before seeing the movie. I would definately suggest it.

message 37: by Jennifer W (new)

Jennifer W | 2175 comments I read DaVinci Code 1st and then Angels and Demons. I think A&D is the better book. The movie was pretty good, but the 1st half hour or so is not at all true to the book, then it gets better. I can't wait for his new book, but I'll likely have to borrow it from the library, so it'll be a while before I get my hands on it.

message 38: by Peanut (new)

Peanut | 149 comments Elizabeth - obviously if people are tracking to-be-release books it is because they are part of a series and/or books by favorite authors.

message 39: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker I'm really looking forward to the new Rebecca Wells book to be released. Her new title is The Crowning Glory of Calla Lily Ponder and it's going to be released July 7. I love her books! I wish she'd do another Ya-Ya book about when they were younger...

message 40: by Julie (new)

Wild for Wilde (wildforwilde) Why Is My Mother Getting a Tattoo? And Other Questions I Wish I Never Had to Ask

I really like Dunn's books. From what I've read, it's a sweet, funny take on getting older. I'm really excited about it. Plus, I went to www.booksonboard.com, an eBook and audiobook retailer, and found it for cheaper than the used book price at B&N! I love finding books that I can afford! Anyone interested should definitely check it out.

I preordered this just to make sure i don't forget the release date. Hunger Games was one of my favorite books of the year so far. Even my partner, who is a very difficult to please reader, loved it and wants to swipe the new one when it comes in. We may have to get two copies just to preserve our relationship. :)

message 45: by ReneeB (new)

ReneeB Thanks to GR giveaways, I got an early copy of "Best Friends Forever" by Jennifer Weiner. It was a typical JW book. It wasn't one of her best, but it was still good.
