I'm going to Hawaii in August, and I plan to take along a boatload of books from my personal library that aren't read yet. Ah, beach reading.

Here's a question that may have already been answered: I realize that it starts on August 1, but can we count a book if we finish it on that date, or should we not start the book until that date? :)

Good question, I'd like to know the answer to that too :)

That is a great question and I think the best way to handle this would be that it would have to be a book that you started in August.
Some people read multiple books at a time and if they had a few started in July, but finished them in August, they would be ahead of the game, which really would not be fair (imo).

I've never participated in a group challenge before, but this sounds like a lot of fun. Count me in!

I'm going to try this one too but I'm not sure how far I'll get since I'll be having my second baby in September.

Congrats, Joanie! I'm having my first baby hopefully any day (due in 2 weeks), so it may be a tad ambitious of me to think that I can do a challenge, but if it works, great, and if not, no big deal, right?

This is going to be very competitive!!! The other group had a lot less participants, but then again this group is HUGE!!

I'm in, but I'm confused as to what the start date is? If we're reading a book then, do we need to be less than half done?

So - I hope that everyone who wanted a copy of the spreadsheet got it. I am leaving on vacation and will not return until August 11th. I may have internet, but may not. It's spotty. What is on the spreadsheet? A list of the shelves?

Pretty much, it has a columns to mark off shelves and to list books. It is also nice because the shelves are in alphabetical order, so it is easier to navigate. (I also have a copy)
