Yes well his book are comedy gold so seems to reason he is funny as well.

Finished Harriet the Spy, which I absolutely loved; I loved it even more than I did the movie, and I already thought that was excellent. The only annoying thing is that according to Goodreads there are two more books in the series, but I can't find them on Kindle. *frowns*

Anyway, I also read both Welsh Fairy Tales and The Blue Hat Club.

Now I'm reading The War of the Worlds.

Set aside My Lady Jane to read some of the books I got from the library. Picked up For Darkness Shows the Stars, but ACOMAF is ready for me to pick up from the libtaty so I may read that one and then pick up FDSTS again.

I love both For Darkness Shows the Stars and ACOMAF, so you could not go wrong either way! I hope you enjoy them. :)

I started and finished yesterday. It surprised me how quickly I got hooked into it and how much I enjoyed it.

I am either going to read or next.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I finished The War of the Worlds late last night. Plus, I read Waking the Dragon and Astro's Indian Odyssey this morning.

It was really good. Not blow my mind amazing, but really good... I enjoyed it more than I thought I was going to, to be honest.

I really liked War of the Worlds, too. I read a whole bunch of H.G. Wells stuff last year, loved it!

I plan to read more of his work soon too. I know I have The Time Machine among the books I've had on my Kindle waiting to be read for ages, so may end up reading that one this Summer at least.

For all you audiophiles...you know that moment when you're reading a book and you realize you haven't actually absorbed anything for the last 3 paragraphs. How do you handle that in audio?

I back it up 30 seconds at a time until I get to the point where I zoned out. I do that ALL the time! :)

I'm reading ACOMAF right now and not liking it as much as the first one. In fact I kind of like the Throne of Glass novels more.

It depends on the book. I space out a lot during audiobooks and sometimes I rewind but sometimes I don't if I can still get the gist of what is going on. I very highly doubt there are any audiobook listeners out there that pay attention to every single word - just like a lot of readers skip words while they read.

I struggle with audiobooks for that same reason. I think my mind wanders too much LOL

Currently reading "queen of the May" by Deneen Cody. It's gonna be a struggle. :( less then 50 pages in and I already HATE the heroine.

I usually have to be doing nothing else while listening to an audiobook or else I get distracted. The last time I tried listening to an audiobook I was in bed and so relaxed that I fell asleep and had to go back lol!

I fall asleep to audiobook nightly. I tend to listen to lighter books at night so I don't stay awake.

Yeah....I can totally see myself getting distracted and also falling asleep. One of these days I'd like to try audio (I actually have never listened to one), but I don't think it would work very well for me right now.

I fall asleep to audiobooks nightly too. Then I just continue where I remember hearing before I fell asleep the next night. Eventually I get through the whole book.

Elora, the absolute best way for me to listen to audio books is if I'm driving (road trips are best), exercising, or coloring. I can't just sit and listen. I HAVE to be doing something, but nothing that requires me to use my brain too much. I'm thinking that knitting or crocheting would also be perfect. I think Jenny does her art while listening.

If I'm having trouble falling asleep, I'll put on Outlander... The narrator's voice is sooooooo soothing! I have to rewind back to where I started EVERY TIME. Lol!

For the most part, I can't listen when I'm really tired. Unless I want to go to sleep!

I can semi-listen to a book if I'm shopping, but I have to rewind quite a bit because as soon as I pick up a product and read a label, the listening portion of my brain shuts off.

It took me a good year to figure out what was the best way for me to listen to a book. Mindless activity for me!

If I'm driving or doing something else mindless, and I don't have a book on, I feel like I've wasted time and "I could have been reading"! ;)

Driving is how I listen to 80% of my audiobooks too Karen. I can not listen while shopping or on the computer though - too much brain function is needed for me to multi task (yes I know it is scary that driving is not the same!). I also listen while getting ready in the morning (straightening hair, etc..), walking, and cleaning the house. I am the same way I guess - I listen much better when I am doing something but it has to be certain activities. I know a ton of my audiobook group members listen while coloring but I haven't done that yet.

p.s. on the audiobook topic a narrator can make or break a book so I always ask that if you are new to audio to please ask someone who has listened for awhile for recommendations because so many people I know have tried books with sub par narration and based their thoughts on audiobooks solely on that book which makes me sad. There are so many wonderful narrators out there who make books even better - many times in my reviews I have upped my star ratings solely based on the narration. Also, some people find it is easier to get into audio by listening to a book they have already read in print - but again if you are going to do this please make sure it has a good narrator. I find Harry Potter is always a great one to start with IMO :)

I do listen to my audiobooks while I"m "arting!" Also while driving, sometimes on my walks, but most of the time its music while on my walks :) Occasionally lying out at the pool ;)

I love audiobooksl, but I use them less now then before.
Audiobooks for me is like a lot of others something I use on long car trips, and if I want to relax insode I might do a jigsawpuzzle while listening to an audiobook.

I am listening to Outlander on audiobook and seem to be making a good bit of progress!

Yay Elora! There are two narrator's for HP - Jim Dale (US)and Stephen Fry (UK). I love Jim Dales version but my UK friends love the other one do either is a good choice

I read Black Horses for the King a couple of days ago.

Then I re-read Hybrid: Pacifier 6 - Expanded Universe. I don't usually count re-read books, but since I never got it listed when I read it originally, I'm counting it this time.

Anyway, after that I read A Winter Amid the Ice and Liquid.

I haven't decided what I'm going to read next.

I dnf-ed two books.
Luckily is great.

I finished which was an okay read, and which was a really cute read and I loved!

Oh, I read Black Horses for the King, although it was years and years ago when I was in my Anne McCaffrey decades long phase! Loved her and miss her!

Finished in the wee hours this morning . I have no words. Epic ending to the Red Rising series!

Not sure if I can read today because I'm having a major book hangover, but if I can I'll continue , and an eARC I've been reading .
