Caitlin (caitlinsiem) | 409 comments @Karen - I really need to read the Red Rising trilogy! Especially from all the great things I've heard about its finale.

Also, I was thinking about listening to Sleeping Giants on audio too! Man, I loved that book so much. I'm still thinking about it!

I'm not too far into the audio, about 18%, but I am loving every second!! The nameless guy is being narrated as a weird accent, and it's a little annoying but still really really good!!!

Oh and yes... Red Rising trilogy is a HUGE favorite of mine! It ranks up there for me with Lord of the Rings!!

This is the first time I've read anything by her other than a couple of Pern books (which I read randomly and out of order, since they were accidental finds, and this was years and years ago, so no Goodreads or Google to look up the order). My brother recommended I read Black Horses For The King, and I'm glad he did, because it was an amazing read.

Katie (katie627) I am currently reading Defiance by C. J. Redwine. It is a dystopian young adult novel which I know has kind of been over done lately. And I do like it so far I'm just not sure it's going to end up on my favorites shelf. Maybe we'll see as I continue to read it!

This one fell a little short for me as well. It was an okay book, just didn't knock my socks off!

Sky (mikotea) | 276 comments Baw, I loved Defiance and the whole trilogy but then again, the first time I read it was back when it was first coming out. I reread it this year and really enjoyed it.

message 1015: by Catherine (new)

Catherine Bruno | 771 comments I thought Defiance was okay, wasn't amazing but wasn't bad. I liked her new one, The Shadow Queen, better.

In fact, I want to share my love of Rachel Caine's The Great Library series (so far) that I'm hosting an international giveaway of a hardcover copy of Ink and Bone (The Great Library, #1) by Rachel Caine and my ARC of Paper and Fire (The Great Library, #2) by Rachel Caine ! http://never-anyone-else.blogspot.com...

Because of a road trip, I am almost finished with the audiobook of Sleeping Giants (Themis Files, #1) by Sylvain Neuvel and loving it. I have my friend hooked on it too! We have less than an hour left and can't wait to get back to it tomorrow as we continue our road trip! ;)

Next we'll listen to Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1) by Amie Kaufman and/or Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

message 1026: by [deleted user] (new)

reading You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour atm.

message 1027: by Tommy (new)

Tommy Hancock (tommyhancock) | 957 comments Since I stopped being a regular here, I've read many books. I can't remember them all, so I'll narrow it down to a few.

Finished the Artemis Fowl series. Not bad, definitely not a regrettable choice.

I also finished Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer and The Raven King (The Raven Cycle, #4) by Maggie Stiefvater both of which I liked as their own books, but fell somewhat short for me as series enders. Still, I very much enjoyed both series.

I'm now about halfway through with Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1) by Kristin Cashore and, as much as I want to love it, I have mixed feelings so far. I tried to read it once before and DNF. This time I will finish and hopefully be more decisive by the end of the book.

Glad you enjoyed both Winter and The Raven King, though it's a shame you were disappointed with them as series endings.

Hey, thanks :)

Disappointed is a little strong. The letdown was very minor, and it was definitely more on me than the authors. Both books were great, but I loved each series so much the books would have had to been perfect--and my definition of perfect at that--in order to please my outrageously large expectations haha.

Still, great stuff. Glad I read both.

To me Fire the second in the companion trilogy is the best one. Also Graceling is much better when you reread it, at least in my opinion.
