I also read for one hour straight last night. I did 70 pages in this book, was drinking water and would like to support Ray if this counts.

Finally, we are at the beach and the internet connetion is not great, so i may not check in more than once a day if that is okay. I m going to start my page jumping book next. In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

Happy reading all!

Sam Lien (sam_nguyen) | 124 comments Hi everyone,

Sorry for being so offline.

I'm actually sitting at the Hong Kong International Airport crawling slowly through some 13-hour transit; then I'll be on the airplane for some 13 more hours to the States. Probably I won't have access to Goodreads for the next day then. Will try to check-in asap though.

Luckily, I've got my books with me.

Four: A Divergent Story Collection
Date: 11/7/16
Pages: 285

I also sprinted this one for 1 hour, supporting Ray.
Time: 8:38 to 9:38
Page: 185 to 263.
Not my best performance, but considering my feeling a bit off from the flight and the waiting, I'm pretty happy.

Go sprinters! I'm grabbing some Starbucks now, then off to To Kill a Mockingbird.

I read for 2+ hours this afternoon to support Rose. Afternoon is a good time to read a book called Pure Sunshine, right? 137 pgs :) Also another hour this evening drinking tea, to support Kazen! 39 pgs. It was my current favorite tea: Celestial Seasonings Black Cherry Berry.

ETA2: I'm going to start a 101 pg book, Nano Contestant, for PJ. :)

Excellent! Starting your Page Jumping book next is perfect - once that's done you'll have your three required events out of the way :)

It totally counts! I'll put you down for the one hour aspect.

"Finally, we are at the beach and the internet connetion is not great, so i may not check in more than once a day if that is okay."

Being at the beach is maybe the best excuse for an iffy internet connection (followed closely by lakeside cabin and ski resort). Once a day is just fine - enjoy that beach! :D

I put down your book Four in for Page Jumping, but the edition you shelved is 208 pages instead of 285. Kazen

A Omni-Sack Bonus has been added to the Olympics - read this page to see what it's all about.

The super short version (lacking all of the wonderful color of the original, I'm afraid!) - we were given five tasks we can do to earn bonuses. They are:

A - Do a buddy read
D - Welcome 10 new members to the group
E - Recommend a book to a member in the recommendations folder - complete!
G - Engage in a conversation with another WOBBLE team
H - Suggest an event/new feature for NBRC - complete!

For each task we complete we can grab one prize from the Omni-Sack. The same prize cannot be drawn twice. Three in particular have caught your captains' attention (click the above link to see them all):

- Someone else may read one of the 3 mandatory books for another person.
(nice to have on the off chance someone has a Happening and is unable to finish)
- One bonus round of your choice may be opened up before completing the event. (The whole event of your choice will open for bonus rounds.)
(because bonus)
- One coach may read a sports book instead of a fight book
(because fighting books are hard to come by, and we already have a Travel Agent book that fits)

The other bonus tasks tend to only affect one book at a time so I'm not super worried about finishing all five tasks. But if you do one of the tasks PM the Mod Account with proof and we'll get credit for it. Tell us here too, of course. :)

If you have any questions read that thread first (they do a better job of explaining than me!) and if it still doesn't make sense ask here. And remember - bonus is bonus, not mandatory.

Read on, Red Pandas! :D

message 1391: by Ray (user2637) (new)

Ray (user2637) (hugpete) | 1521 comments I also like these prizes:

- The, An, or A may be excluded from one title.
- One member may read one back to back relay book.

But only if we're going to try Event 1's bonus round(s). I've been trying to line up books from what was left over from E1 and only come up with a 10 or 12 chain (don't remember, laptop is asleep), and haven't managed to get Rose or Sam into the chain. I've been assuming everyone will want in but we'll discuss that when we get closer to bonuses being open. :)

message 1392: by Margaret (new)

Margaret | 456 comments Hi Kazen, I have made a recommendation in the recs folder and have PM the mod account. So will let you know when we have one of our bonuses available :)

BTW, I recommended Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning ;)

message 1393: by Kazen (new)

Kazen Ray - I have your book in for PJ with the next one claimed. :)

I'm not sure Event 1 would make the best bonus round - if one person in the chain doesn't finish their book none of the books after it count. :( The same rule applies in PJ, but it's much easier to find a book with a certain length than a book that starts with Bonds and ends in Trust. ;)

Chariot will open as soon as we finish that event - they're not bonus but a supplement. :) The other bonus rounds have to wait until we finish the main part of every single round.

-Other?
Thanks!

message 1397: by Kazen (last edited Jul 11, 2016 05:35AM) (new)

Kazen Tammie - A Lead book would be awesome, and more coaching books, too! It would be hard to get those coaching points otherwise. And if worse comes to worst and we had holes in Page Jumping it would be really easy to shift books from coaching. But maybe the Lead book first, hehe.

Having said that - don't read something if you don't like it! There are many book-fishes in the sea. ;)
