Thanks Jim. I thought it worked out quite well, given that its subject matter is a tad on the sensitive and potentially controversial side :-)

message 257: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Because even I was losing the plot about what episodes I had written and where, I've now collected the stories together and sequentially numbered them. If you haven't caught up with the story so far, now might be a good time to do so ;-)

Jim | 21809 comments Nice one :-)
How many words so far?

message 291: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Jim wrote: "Nice one :-)

Thanks Jim. Good question! At a rough estimate, I would say between 18k and 20k.

message 292: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments Not a long way from a novella, and at 30k it becomes economic to put it in an Amazon paperback and charge £4.50 :-)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Jim wrote: "Not a long way from a novella, and at 30k it becomes economic to put it in an Amazon paperback and charge £4.50 :-)"

Good point, Jim. I'll bear that in mind ;-)

message 294: by Jim (new)

Jim | 21809 comments And at 20k it fits nicely as a 99p ebook novella :-)
I'd go for 30k plus :-)
It's nicely character driven and fun

FYI Jim, the running total (now that I've actually sat down and totted it up) is 24,239 :-)

Jim | 21809 comments You are certainly getting there, A nice complicated conclusion in the Inn beckons,
Strikes me that with a busy inn on a road junction, it could be amazing just who passes through and who recognises who. I'd be tempted to have a son of Gwladys whose's done well for himself appear looking for his old mum, and falling for Aefelthrith

But there are so many ways these characters could drive it :-)
