Thanks Kristel! Do you mind posting the format to the top of the thread so I can make sure I copy it each time 👍😉
I’ve also volunteered for the July YA BOM (both July books were my nominations I just realised!!)

Hi Tina
I didn’t know what it was either!! Once I checked it out I realised I have actually read a few in the genre
http://goodreads.com/genres/space-opera
We could always use a chipmunk spin for two of our weeks though if we find ourselves with quite a difficult word/genre

Hello all!
So this is what it is like to be on a team with Europeans. I wake up to 54 unread posts. lol!
We've always tried to have Australia and Europe on different teams..."
Good luck with exams Karen! I hope you do well.
I choose units where we don't have to do exams. I can deal with the extra assignment :P

Space Opera
Thanks Tina! Oh I wish that was an option. Unfortunately with post grad it is 4 assignments plus an exam for each subject. Thankfully after these exams I only have one more subject to go! Woot!

Oh wow. That's not what I was thinking - music in space! Haha
Cheers! I'll have a look and see if I have anything already

Oh really? That's not what I have for my units in my post grad! Maybe it's different for each course and each uni?
Health at Deakin Uni is not that big on end of subject exams
Yes I guess so, Tina! I’m doing psychology at CSU.
My undergrad was business at SCU and I had exams with every subject for that too... but that was many years ago 😮

Perfect Judy!
I love Neal Shusterman and I’m so intrigued about a book co-written with his son
And the other July BOM as recommended to me by a few people who have similar taste to me which is why I added it

Yay for psych! I'd prefer that over business haha
I think you'll be great though :P

Great idea, added it:)

I'll be away for two weeks from 25th June to July 7th! So I'll miss out on July's first BOM

I study via distance and it is very good for that.
What are you studying in health? Do you have long left?

Master in Public Health. I have 5 out of 16 units left. I started doing a major project this year (ethics, research, data collection and analysis then the thesis) but it got too much for me. ): Things happened that messed with me doing it.
So instead of the major project plus one unit, I'm going to do the 5 elective units now.
I'm trying to choose my last unit and can't decide on whether I should do a unit with an exam or with a group project! Haha
Any recommendations? xD
Oh nice - well done! Do you work in health atm?
I detest group projects because there is always at least one person who doesn’t do what they should... so i say do the exam 😂

Yeep, group projects are.... hit and miss, I guess. If you have a good group, without the bad egg, then they're great. With the bad egg.... so so annoying :-/

Buuuutttt I hate needles
Or there's this one person in the group who contributes 5-10% and you only see them once. Twice if you're lucky

Well the flu shot is now in shortage so you’d be lucky to get it! I got mine about a month ago. I don’t love needles but after having kids and being a constant pin cushion I just kind of got used to it

I so know that feeling! During my final year project I was in a group of four, and I was the only one that actually did any work. Luckily tutors were aware of this, and consequently I was also the only one that graduated, lol!

Ah, that's great, then I don't need to worry about finding something for that genre. I'll be reading some shorter books during the first week, since I want to complete the right side up challenge, which ends on the 21st, and I'm still several books short. This trip really messed up my reading, lol!

I'm exactly the same! I take an exam or a personal assignment over group work any day.

Not sure about title. Something with picture and bull. I think
And please keep in mind I was barely teen then. I picked..."
I'm a lurky lurker. I tried to read IT at age 8. Made it 20 pages, got terrified and was afraid to go to the bathroom for weeks. Blame my father. Of course he also let me watch a horror movie at the age of 2 or 3 because he thought it would be fine. I had nightmares for 12 years after that and didn't know why until I mentioned them to my parents. Now I know...

I did watch Poltergeist (not my fault really - it was on tv in the middle of the day during summer vacation!). I did have trouble with storms for certain period of time :P

I can laugh now so it's totally fine :) Being the oldest came with its share of mistakes like that.

This happened to me at a sleepover with Child's Play. Horror movies and I have a history and anything where dolls come to life, shudder.
Anyway, I'll go back to lurking now. I'm not playing this round so I'm just poking in to root for my friends.

I was soon so used to horror that I don't like the genre much now because it doesn't scare me! lol.

omg. Your parents have a lot to answer for (and maybe therapy bills to pay) lol!
My kids love scary things. Which is so weird to me seeing how much I don't

Yes it is. A dark fantasy of course, but basically written for his daughter because she could never read any of daddy's books, lol.

Teehee so true.
I got chosen for the Becky Albertalli BOM DQs 😮
I’ve downloaded the book from the library so I can read it on the train on Saturday and get my section done!
Only 20 hours until we start! 😀

Hope you enjoy it! I look forward to answering your questions then ;-) it's definitely my favorite of Becky Albertalli's books.

Great, gtk Judy because I have enjoyed her Creekwood books!
I am finishing Tangle of Gold (yes, our team book!) and have about four hours of audio left so I won’t finish before the start of wheelathon but at least not much after 😀

Jaclyn Moriarty is the little sister of Liane. She writes mostly YA and this is actually a really good series. I started book 1 as part of my closet challenge this year and had to continue on until the end!

The Historian. It was a 2.5 star for me. Really slow and 300 pages too long imo.
The count of monte Cristo - I loved it! Massive book and great sense of accomplishment to complete it
Fingersmith- I really enjoyed. Had no idea when I started it that it was lesbian fiction so I did get a bit of a surprise. Haha 😂. It is slow paced but not boring. The pace adds to the story
Les mis - yikes I’d better read a bit more before wheelathon starts. I’m currently in line with the schedule so I may just have to make use of the break month after wheelathon to catch up
