You can start a book for Safezone 2 while your team members are completing Safezone 1, but you can't complete that book until all of safezone one is complete

I'm up for it! If the next countdown is truly two weeks from the first one (so Monday), then I can finish up my SZ2 book and probably get at least 2 letters toward a word for SZ3 by then.

If we go ahead and make a few words now we would know what letters we need to be reading for. Need some of the higher point letters if possible.

Sounds good to me. I'll have my book finished tonight or tomorrow morning. I have access to a lot of books so should be able to find something for any letter.

"Nine" might be a good place to start...fairly simple letters to find books that fit, plus one letter for each of us.

6 from the 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die List. For this task, you can use books that would otherwise not be allowable for the challenge (e.g. due to wordcount or genre)
5 that has one of the 50 states of the USA in the title
4 that is more than 400 pages
3 that has the letters C-A-T in the title (in any order)
2 written by an African American author
1 from the NPR List

And the Safe Zone 2 tasks (SZ1 & 3 are designed the same way)

The timing for the countdown tasks varies and will be different each week so I guess basically as soon as possible after it starts. :/

I have books planned for other challenges that would fit:

7 that is more than 50% black (use tin eye to confirm)
4 that is more than 400 pages

But I can be flexible and fit in several of the others instead.

Once we have our countdown books planned we can check to see if we can build a ladder with them to rejuvenate.

I'm sorry Jennifer and Linda, when I was updating, I didn't even read the description to see if it matched, I just wrote down the task numbers.

I suggest we read as much as we can, and then try to find words hahaha.
On our completions we list every letter possible from every extra book =P

Here are the books I have planned (besides the one for NINE that I'm reading now) that I should have complete by the deadline. I'm taking my son back to college on Sunday (7 hours drive + unpacking) so that day is likely shot for me to read anything unless I'm going on my own (his dad not going) and can listen to an audiobook on the way home.

When He Was Wicked (I finished this one today and we had SZ2 complete yesterday so it's ready to be used where needed): W, J, Q, F, M, S, B

I have 3 books I can finish by the deadline. First will be done early tomorrow, can be used anywhere; 2nd has an X and 3rd has an I - so if we get an S from someone else we have SIX spelled out
