Jeesh, that's really ridiculous. Yes, Brietbart had no drugs in him; that's true. What he had was severe heart disease. The autopsy concluded he died from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (an enlarged heart), with focal coronary atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). His enlarged heart was unable to pump properly. Tom Clancy never wrote anything that would get him in trouble, including Red October, which most experienced submariners thought was rubbish (I liked it though). Clancy never served in the military and had no access to classified information. His research was all open source material. He also always exaggerated how well military tech performed because, not having served, he didn't know most of it does perform well. By the time of his death, he'd pretty much stopped writing and just put his name on books others wrote using his plot ideas. He died of heart disease, too, having survived one heart attack and went through bypass surgery. http://news.usni.org/2013/10/02/tom-c...

If that's true, it seems like he wouldn't have made many enemies with the powers-that-be...
Or did he write about more complex matters and include potentially true conspiracies about those starting wars?
