The Local Tavern

No need for that. We are friends. :)
Make that quest for everyone.

I fear no quest, just not sure if I can read enough books to complete said quest.

Hey guys! I wasn't much present lately but fear not I have been very busy slaying nasty creatures. So I'm here to rest and recuperate for a while, that last goblin was pretty persistent. Also I'm a bit tired of always eating smoked sewer rat. *goes to the bar* Cider for me please! *checks out the menu card*

Alex, how did you know it's a wonderful stout?! Mmm, has great notes (coffee, hint of caramel) and a good frothy head. :)
Alex, do you remember that old Apple II (computer) game where you slide the beers. Your goal is to catch them all. LOL oh the 80s.

Oh the 80s, the times when Camel Joe told kids smoking was cool, Spud McKenzie was the party animal, there were candy cigarette gum that if you blew on it the candy would spray out powered sugar, and games of beer. :P

We started January 1st.

If I never defeat a dragon it is at least fun joking around with good people and going out of my way to read something I would have never touched had it not been for this challenge.

It's not hard at all! There are a lot of pieces moving together but the actual doing of the challenge is very simple. Pick up a book you want to read. Then look at the different ways you can use it. Is it the first in a series? You can level your staff. Was it published in 2008? You can fill in that spot in the Timewalker challenge. etc etc. Just read what you would be reading anyway, things you enjoy, and fill in the little spots as you go.
Also go check out other people's threads! Look at how they set theirs up (if you feel weird about creeping on other people's stuff, feel free to look at mine, I don't mind lol). When you see it laid out in a neat and organized way it might start making a little more sense and seem easier to manage :)

What Cait said. It definitely helped me to read over the rules a couple times and then see what others were doing. You can totally creep on my thread too. I had to read over each aspect a number of times to figure out what was going on. And like Alex said, even if I never defeat anything more than sewer rats, it's just a fun game to be a part of. Not to mention I can swing in to the tavern here for a mug of ale and some good conversation. :)

It's fun and I bet you'll find yourself reading more -- which I guess is one of the goals of this quest. Having fun too, helps!
Feel free to check out my thread. And Welcome!

Don't worry. Lots of people here to answer questions if you have them :)
I'd just start in one area of the challenge then work your way out. The quests are probably the simplest to work on first since they're just like mini challenges.

I was completely overwhelmed at first, but I just kept reading over the rules until they clicked and now it's so much fun and not confusing at all. Feel free to look at my thread too :)

Yeah, I found that it just suddenly clicked and it all made sense :)

Now, that I understand the rules. I'm zooming through it. I'm enjoying it a lot. Very fun idea and I'm glad Tea and Kelly did this.

I got a 2 books in one from the library I only have an interest in reading the first story and no interest in the second one at all Is it okay if I just use that story? (yes it does meet the minimum page requirement)

Yeah I'm fine with that as long as you're only doing pages from the book you read. You might want to note it somewhere when you do the quest in case you need to look back later.

For example, you need potion and you've read 'blood' book. Use book, get potion, use potion, attack monster. Read next one. ☺
Hope I understood you right. :)
