I finished Who Can Hold the Sea: The U.S. Navy in the Cold War 1945-1960 by James D. Hornfischer. Overall, this is a very readable, enlightening, and educational history of the U.S. Navy during the early days of the Cold War.

I just d..." I did enjoy the romance but I've gone back to thrillers. I've read one thriller, Crimson Phoenix by John Gilstrap and I'm about to start the second book in the series Blue Fire.

Almost done with The Book of Cold Cases and started After Happily Ever After.

The Book of Cold Cases - I'm enjoying it because I like the writing style, but there are some aspects of the story I don't love. St. James always adds paranormal aspects to her mystery/thrillers, but this one just didn't blend as well. Some of the things the MC has done and some of the reasons why characters did things in the past don't complete make sense for me either. So, good story, but not my favorite by her.

After Happily Ever After - I'm not too far in to this one yet, but it seems to me that this is going to be one of those books where the whole story could have been prevented if people just communicated. We'll see.

Wolf Girl is a shy little girl who pretends to be a brave, fierce wolf. The illustrations by author Jo Loring-Fisher are just beautiful.

I loved The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes about a man whose memory is as fallible as everyone's. Wonderful story with an ending that has generated a lot of discussion since it won the Booker Prize in 2011.

I just finished "The Murder of Roger Akroyd". I've decided to keep going with my Agatha Christie introduction so I've moved on to "The Mysterious Affair at Styles". This one is a little harder to follow.

I love Agatha Christie books. My favorite is And Then There Were None. Not follow the Hercule Poroit but is very fun too read and has mystery until the end. Is one of the first books that blow my mind.

I also currently read a classic that has mystery and suspense, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. It is the last book of Charles Dickens and is know of be the book that introduced the modern detective novel. I almost in the end, and I am liking very much. I just a little sad to know that is a unfinished novel. The reader have to identificate the villan. It's like a puzzel with a missing piece

Sara Jesus - I did not know that "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" was unfinished. I'm not sure I could read it without an ending. How would I know if my guess was right. It would drive me batty.

Yeah. I undrestand that point. But it is a really great book. And Dickens gives many clues who the real villan is. The "real" mystery envolves discovery what did happen with Edwin. Normaly I don't like unfinished books, but is a Dickens book. Because Dickens is one of my favorite writers I had to read.

I think The Strange Adventures of H, a young girl, by Sarah Burton could be an entertaining introduction to historical fiction about 17th century London. It covers the Plague, the Great Fire, and bawdy houses.

I am currently reading "Birdman" by Mo Hayder. It is my first time reading this author. Fingers crossed.

I am one of many fans of pre-teen sleuth and poisons expert Flavia de Luce, whose chemistry skills are legendary. The Weed That Strings the Hangman's Bag is the second in the series by Alan Bradley, and his depiction of 1950s rural England is a treat. Love it!

I wasn't very happy with this one though. I had wanted to read it since I first read thr blurb, could have been more deeper and less flighty.

if you need something light try Oposites Attract by Camilla Isley - a simple light fun book.

I really enjoyed the first of the Remembrance of Earths Past trilogy. I can certainly see what the hype is about. Very dense read though! But it was worth it!

A A Christmas Carol or Oliver Twist are great books to start.

Currently reading Intrigued by Bertrice Small on weekdays and The Presence by Heather Grahamon the weekend. There is a method to my reading madness.
