PattyMacDotComma I enjoy the Amazon Original Stories, which are quick reads written by well-known authors and give readers a sample of their talent and style. Jeffery Deaver recently contributed Scheme, which has an unexpected (of course) twist at the end.

It was cute. I didn't realize that it was in a series so now I want to go back and read the first book (which I hear is better than this one). My complaints - I thought it had so many characters, that I was mixing them up. I also thought it was a bit long-winded. I found myself getting annoyed with the male main character, Dean. But over-all, I think it was a good book.

Kristie | 5928 comments Thanks! I forgot that it was part of a series. I think it's one that I may pick up if I'm in the mood, but I won't rush out to grab it.

Woman Reading (is away exploring) | 397 comments On Wings of Eagles by Ken Follett On Wings of Eagles. Usually a writer of thriller fictions, Ken Follett turned his attention to recounting the true story of rescuing two American executives falsely imprisoned in Iran during its revolution about forty years ago.

It is not so great. It's ok enough but just that. Ok enough. Very cookie cutter, garden variety, generic suspense novel.
