Ariel (aellen) | 129 comments I agree with Lexi. I think that is more orange.

message 102: by Alison (new)

Alison (a1ison74) | 2826 comments No worries, I'm reading it anyway I was just hoping it would pick up the colour bonus as well as the Mythology one.

It doesn't currently fit any of the remaining letters on the planning sheet so I've added it below for now. Hopefully some character will pop up whose name starts with U, L or E but no one so far.

I moved books around so it fits now. We have O,U, T left and then I will open up a new word.

I moved a book of mine from S to the O. Looks like someone grabbed the T.

Leaving U and S in spelling 1.

message 105: by Preeti (new)

Preeti (preetisunaina) | 986 comments I have added a book against the U which means all letters of this set are now covered.

Oh, Hey Lexi, Hey Judith... *waves madly* Nope, no candles nor objects used to dab into the occult...

*goes away swiftly leaving a trail of graveyard dirt behind*

message 107: by Preeti (new)

Preeti (preetisunaina) | 986 comments Hi. I had added my book (Though Not Dead) against the T in the first book but have shifted it to the O in the 2nd word. I forgot that one of the MCs is Dan O'Brian and O is a tougher one to find.

message 108: by Darren (new)

Darren Compton | 143 comments Hi.
I have added a book to one of the highlighted letters.

Also I think this book cover is red, so I have ticked the color box
Later by Stephen King

That works great. Thank you

Lexi | 4255 comments Countdown to the end of this week: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown...

Next week, our word is RAZORBLADE TEARS (pink) and at least 10 tags of Queer. (Link:https://www.goodreads.com/genres/queer)
The planning sheet is up.

message 111: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments HI all, sorry I was a little MIA this week. Had a busy work week to prepare for being off work for a bit then the holiday.

I will have a few books done by the deadline, I'll get them added to the spreadsheet as soon as I'm not on my phone.

message 112: by Cordelia (new)

Cordelia | 464 comments I've been making a lot of progress on a few different books this week and will have a good chunk of reading time today so I think today is going to be a day where I finish several books. It is early morning here and I just finished my first one. So I should be able to meet my commitment by the end of the day.

message 113: by Alison (new)

Alison (a1ison74) | 2826 comments Unfortunately two Mythology books proved too much for me this week, I need to space them out, so I've switched out Stone Blind for another book I finished this morning.

I only have 40 minutes left on Satsuma Complex so should be good to have that finished by tomorrow.

message 114: by Cordelia (last edited Nov 27, 2022 10:20PM) (new)

Cordelia | 464 comments So it can't be LGBT, it just has to be queer? That's annoying, they mean the same thing but one book I'm looking at has 11 lgbt tags and only 4 queer tags.

message 115: by Saar The Book owl (new)

Saar The Book owl | 728 comments Does it need to have a minimum amount of tags, otherwise you can still use it? Or the mods can make an exeption, because it means the same?

There needs to be 10 tags

Preeti (preetisunaina) | 986 comments Judith, the chapter breakdown for If We Were Villains has been released. I just realised that both of us have been given chapters. Is it ok if two people from the same team get to write DQs? Also, do we then get twice the number of points? I hope so..🤞🏻

message 118: by Judith (new)

Judith (brownie72011) | 7436 comments Mod
It's fine to be from the same team this go. Points aren't accumulated this time for Wheels like they are for most NBRC challenges because the game is only 5 weeks this year.

We'll get a bonus for the BOM prize for participating, which is picking a BOM theme.

Also, it has to be queer. I have a book with 4 myth tags so yes, it can be annoying when you are under, esp on newer books.

Ah, ok! Thanks.
I am looking forward to rereading this book. I loved it when I read it earlier.

message 121: by Melanie (new)

Melanie (mvalente89) | 1026 comments Well what I thought was just a bad case of strep throat has turned out to be covid. I should hopefully still finish a few books by the end of the round but this is knocking me down a bit.

when you get a chance, could you add a read date to Duel Identity?

Thank you!

They've also been blocked from the group and I think we've deleted all the messages they posted.

Spammers have be popping up a lot more lately but please let us know whenever you find them so we can get them removed from the group.

Thanks Preeti!!

You're very welcome! It irks me greatly when I see these kinds of messages ruining our fun place. I'm always worried that somebody will accidentally click on the link and get themselves into trouble.
Though I have to say, the spammers seem to be getting smarter. Earlier, if one clicked on the profile, it would not show any books on their shelves but now they seem to have figured that out and are adding random books to their to-read and read lists.

Alison (a1ison74) | 2826 comments Hi all, just checking in. This week has been crazy busy at work, we're a few people down and there's a big project due, so I've been working all hours and haven't had much time for reading unfortunately. I was hoping to get at least one book finished this weekend but I'm not sure I'll manage it. It doesn't help that I'm really struggling to get into the book I started at the beginning of the round. Think it's just my mood, I'm too tired for rom-com

Alison, thank you for checking in. Sometimes it is just not the right time for a book, maybe try a different one. Hope life calms down.

Preeti (preetisunaina) | 986 comments Hi, Judith. I will not be able to finish reading If We Were Villains by the end of this round so am moving it to next week (luckily, we need the I there). I noticed you have also added the same book to the spreadsheet. Please could you move your book to the slot where my book was earlier? Thanks.

I just wanted to drop by and say we could really use some N so if you have a N character, please make sure to mark it on the spreadsheet.

Alison (a1ison74) | 2826 comments Hi all, things are no calmer for me unfortunately but I have managed to sneak in a reread of The Hating Game. No N's that I can think of and I'm struggling to get it to fit on the sheet. Should I just add at the bottom for now?

Yes, please. This is true for anyone. Just add books to the bottom and I'll move things around as I have time.

message 147: by Lexi (last edited Dec 07, 2022 05:28PM) (new)

Lexi | 4255 comments Darren, I added your three books from your wheel shelf since I was moving things around and you read non-fiction, which tends to have the fewest options.

Alison, I made room for yours as well.

Edited: Moved things again so a S,K and G so lots of options
