Preeti (preetisunaina) | 480 comments I have only my first book absolutely decided on. I have been wanting to read Wrong Place Wrong Time for ages and it works for a Reverse card. Other than that, I will be reading from a very long TBR that I created for an AMMP challenge. I filled the list with many books from all of your Read lists so they also work for Reverse cards which we seem to have got a lot of.

Alex | 9 comments Uh, wouldn't be great if we can all share some of the books we plan to read? This way we can have a peek at what everyone is reading and get some inspiration here and there.

^ same for me with Wrong Place, Wrong Time! hehe

My list looks like this:
Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (Wayfarers, #1) by Becky Chambers The Secret History by Donna Tartt Bunny by Mona Awad

&& i will surely add more to it

Gwen | 316 comments I have quite a few books I plan to read. One I'll be reading for my local in-person book group (The Vanishing Half) and then the two books for the colored covers. And then I have a few others I'm just itching to get into as well.

My list looks like this (in no particular order):
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett Bannerless (The Bannerless Saga, #1) by Carrie Vaughn The Wild Dead (The Bannerless Saga #2) by Carrie Vaughn Legends & Lattes (Legends & Lattes, #1) by Travis Baldree A Deadly Education (The Scholomance, #1) by Naomi Novik The Boy on the Bridge (The Girl With All the Gifts, #2) by M.R. Carey

Then again, I'm a bit of a mood reader so this list may vary based upon that...

Gwen, I've read The Vanishing Half so it can be used as a reverse card if needed.

JoJo_theDodo | 320 comments How many times can we use the same book as a Reverse? I have The Vanishing Half in my stacks of books that I want to start with for the challenge too.

message 57: by Gwen (new)

Gwen | 316 comments I think if the same book is read by different people, it counts each time and would fill a spot for a Reverse. Louise can correct me if I'm wrong but I think that is the case.

message 58: by Louise (new)

Louise | 1282 comments If you wish to pre-plan your reads feel free to add them to the tracking sheet

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

My reads very much vary depending on what I need for a challenge.

For Reverse the same book can be read by different people.
Some teams have in the past completed buddy reads to satisfy these cards.
If anyone wishes to participate in a buddy read, head over to the Buddy Read 2023 thread to set one up.

Would it be okay to add the books to the spreadsheet once I've read them? Just in case I need to change out a book that I planned on reading for a book that seems to fill one of our more needed cards at the time.

At the moment the stack of books that I have set aside to read are:

Infinite Country by Patricia Engel The Dovekeepers by Alice Hoffman Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys Things We Lost to the Water by Eric Nguyen Olympus, Texas by Stacey Swann The Turn of the Key by Ruth Ware

That’s perfectly fine, the option is to add books before the start is for those that like to pre-plan

message 62: by Preeti (new)

Preeti (preetisunaina) | 480 comments I will be adding my books as I complete them only because I never can pre-plan my reads past at the most my next 2-3 books.☺️
But I have added a lot of books to my tentative TBR that work for reverse cards.

Preeti (preetisunaina) | 480 comments Hi, all. I have a doubt about the reverse cards.
I will be reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland #1-2) by Lewis Carroll.
When I checked everybody's read books, I found that Stephanie has read book 1 and Alex has read book 2.
Would that allow me to use the book for a reverse card or does the complete book have to have been read by one person for it to count? Thanks.

Preeti (preetisunaina) | 480 comments Do we add a completion post here or only add it to the tracking spreadsheet?
I have added a completion post above just in case it is required and will delete it if not.

I did like Malibu Rising and in general I quite like the author! As for Ruta Sepetys, I think this is the weakest book of hers I have read (compared to Ashes in the Snow and Salt to the Sea) and The Vanishing Half was interesting as it was from a very different perspective (I am white and from a European country with little to no PoC)

No need to post it here as long as all the detail is on the sheet and the book is on your Uno shelf

I didn't know where exactly to add it to the spreadsheet as it is a coloured card, so I just wrote down the date next to my name. Please let me know if there is anything else I need to add and I will edit accordingly.

The top section is for us to see at a glance who is covering each card, completion posts for these need to be added in the tracking sheet from row 16 with as much info as possible including if it works for other cards 😀

Unfortunately we can’t use it for a reverse unless someone else read the whole thing.

I have read Salt to the Sea and thought it was really good. The only other book I've read by Taylor Jenkins Reid was Daisy Jones and I thought it was good, but did not really like it enough to make me want to read all her books.

I finished "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie and added it to the spreadsheet. I hope I entered it correctly, please tell me if I didn't. I know there were several team mates that had already read it so it could be used as a reverse.

message 85: by JoJo_theDodo (new)

JoJo_theDodo | 320 comments I thought it would be good to read some books that start with the letter "I" as it seems we have quite a few of those needed in our hands, so I'm currently reading:

The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd (Paperback) and The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See (Audiobook)

Gwen | 316 comments Good morning! I find it hard to believe that it's February 8th already - this month seems to be flying by.

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm currently reading Mexican Gothic and it's actually going kinda slow. I like the main character, she's funny and plucky, but there's not a whole lot going on yet.

Vanessa Yu's Magical Paris Tea Shop by Roselle Lim

Edit: Sorry, forgot to add, it can work as a backup in case we need it.

message 96: by Cindy (new)

Cindy | 153 comments I have finally finished my first book. It’s for my colored card. Have had a slow start to my reading this month, I’ve been busy with work and had a sick and teething baby so I haven’t been able to get as much reading done as I would like but I did get my colored card read and I will update the spreadsheet tonight when I get a chance

message 97: by Gwen (new)

Gwen | 316 comments Good to see you, Cindy! I hope your baby is feeling better soon.

I finally finished Mexican Gothic last night - I'm so glad the last third of the book picked up, the beginning was really slow. I'll update the tracking sheet tonight when I'm home (I can't access Google docs from work. Thanks firewall.)
