The Perks Of Being A Book Addict discussion

I updated the spreadsheet for the book I just completed and I am going to start reading the next book in the Louise Penny Inspector Gamache series. I'm not sure how this book can be used in the March Mini, but I'm thinking maybe for the multi color pattern or Chameleons? There is also the tree on the front, so I'm not sure if that could be used as a characteristic? The village it takes place in is in Canada, so maybe that could be used? Could someone please look at the book and help me to figure out if it will fit into a March Mini catagory?

Hi Anya - I took a look at what you put on the tracking sheet for your book and it looks good to me! Louise will have final say but I think you found a good creative characteristic.

Hi Jo - I would suggest you read through the characteristics of the animals listed to see if anything relates to just about anything in your book. One of them mentions researchers? Would that help? The mods are encouraging creativity so try it out even if it seems to be a stretch.

Thank you! I thought it could work for the color patterns, but I just needed confirmation. It can definitely be challenging to figure the characteristics that fulfill the animals.

I’ll get an update done today. I came back off vacation yesterday and had to work last night.

Hi. I have completed my book for the Golden Tortoise Beetle location (set in Alaska, USA). I am almost done with the Cephalopod book (I have about 10 minutes left of the audiobook and will be done tomorrow). Also, I am part of the way through the 7 Red book and will definitely be done with it before the end of the month. By the way, I am reading a different book from what I had said earlier -

Hi. I just realised that the book I read for Cephalopods (Remarkably Bright Creatures) also works for the characteristics of chameleons as the octopus that is one of the main characters in the book has the ability to change colours to match his environment. If required it can be shifted there and another book used for Cephalopods.

So many updates since I last checked in. Sorry I've been sick and still fighting off whatever this cold/virus this is. I thought it was allergies at first, but it's become obvious I was wrong. I have finished two of the books I was reading for the mini challenge and will update the spreadsheet now.

I can read Apple Cider Slaying for Chameleons feeding on foliage and fruits if no one else is reading for this task.

I finished “Memorial Drive” but don’t have access to the spreadsheet as I’m on vacation. Just wanted to let Louise know and hopefully I’ll be able to update it later. I’m starting “Who Fears Death” next and will have it done in time.

The characteristic task on the bottom for chameleons was still blank but the word characteristic was crossed out. Wasn't sure what the reason was for but I found something that would work and I entered it but couldn't get it to not automatically strike through everything I input.

The chameleon task was completed with a book I had finished as indicated here. The purpose of the strikethrough is for me to see at a glance what has been transferred to the official sheet.

If you claim books whether colored or for the mini do let us know as soon as possible if you aren’t able to complete.

Please also keep an eye out for messages either within the thread or on the tracking sheet if books read need checking. Books need to be on your UNO shelf once read for ease of checking.

My apologies for being MIA on my vacation, it won't happen again! I have not claimed any books for April but I'll try to fill in where needed rather than commit to anything in particular.

I haven't actually looked too closely at the colored cards we were assigned just yet but I will do that later today to see if anything on my TBR pile fits the bill.

I'm a little sad that we're in our final month of Uno - this is my favorite reading challenge. Let's finish strong, Team Echidna!

The last week of March I was in the USA helping with my father-in-law's arrangements. I had to go to their public library to log my books in the spreadsheet. Finally home and back on track with time zone difference; it would figure Germany had daylight saving time adjustment at the same time.

Reading and logging books now. Only claimed one color so far.
