Just checking in to let you know I'm still reading. It was a busy week at work last week, but this week should be slower and allow me a little more time to read in the evening.

I'm glad that our team is doing so well!

I finished Kings of the Wyld and thought it was different, but I enjoyed it! It was surprising to me because I never would normally have picked up that book.

Hi - The copy of One of Us is Dead I am reading is 364 pages but for some reason, it won't let me switch to that edition and it says I'm reading a 272 page hardcover. Does this matter? I've put the right page count in the SS but I wanted to be sure.

I didn't have a problem changing it...what I saw of Kindle was a 354 pg count...I chged that too...this version/book is not yet on your shelf...so be sure you mark the correct version read...not sure what the deal was though.

FYI to whoever

I just went to the SS to add a book and noticed a book I just added was changed to 'Ready Player One'.
The page number and read date was all correct...just the book name was changed.

So if anyone wanted to add that book, you'll need to still do so.

Sometimes these kinds of things happen when more than one person is working at the same time...and sometimes there's a poltergeist out there that likes to play games with our heads...teehee :)

Not sure...check the SS though...there are several books without owners and vice versa...names but not books. Not sure what the deal is, but it may be wise for everyone to do a dbl check on work you did yesterday especially.

All of the books seemed to have been shifted downwards in a random, nonsensical order.

Not sure which books belong to who now, so if everyone could go over their books and re-add them that would be great :)

Yes, book near the bottom of the list have become quite scrambled and may not match the info in the rest of the row. It seems only to effect books that are planned, not the ones with a completed date.

Everyone that had entered a planned book should double check the SS.

The unfortunate scrambled has to have happened today in the p.m. since books I entered as completed about 1 are good.

The mini's are a bit messed up as well.

Looks like mine are ok, but there are two attached to me that aren't my planned books. They are One of us is dead and the far pavilions by M M Kaye. They have three titles there but everything else is copied from my previous books. Just as a heads up for whoever has those planned.

But first...we're bound to have this happen now and then. The SS has been 'restored' to a certain point yesterday...we can do that if something 'bad' happens. Please do double check your entries since yesterday...even if you've already checked them.

PLEASE REMEMBER...the minis 'self populate'...if you hover over one of the fields there you'll see a formula in that box. The SS will pull whatever you put in the mini section on the 'main book page'...it's under the royal blue section.

I finished 2 yesterday. Had to re-add one of them (although I'm not entirely sure I remembered to add it last night), and put the read date on the other one, so I'm all caught up.

What is the thought for this book cover? People or blue?

FYI on the spreadsheet, on the Books page, sometimes there appears to be a "ghost" book.

I have cleared and re-entered Far Pavilion, row 153 many times. But Harry Potter keeps showing.

I tried moving to a new row...same problem.

Also having the same problem with row 155, Love in the Ballroom. But it keeps trying to link to Rebecca by DuMaurier.

I've tried fixing it for over an hour...giving up and need help to fix.

Sometimes there is a poltergeist who plays trick on us. "Read: GR is just messing with our heads."

Once in a while, it does show you "ghost book" but the links have always been correct when clicking on them.

So, there is no need to re-enter the book.

Your captains have taken a close look at the rules for this portion of the mini...

1. Rainbow Towers
Using as many shades of colours as possible from the list below, create a rainbow tower using book cover colours.
You do not have to read for every colour, you do not have to differentiate between bright or dark, but it needs to be a clear rainbow, with at least ten colours (which means at least 10 books).

Got a tower together of rainbow colours? Start a new rainbow! At the end of TT each team can receive points for each complete rainbow tower.

You can also receive bonus points for creating a tower with all 18 colours. You can only do this once for bonus points. - a few spots on this one yet to claim.

SO...The colors on the *were on* left on the SS weren't necessarily the colors we needed to be filling. For each of our rainbows of 10...we need to have a different color...doesn't need to necessarily be bright or dark...just different. ie 1 that's green, 1 that's yellow, etc.
There's enough colors for us to avoid teal all together if we want to ;)

*I'm going to revise the colors on the left to be 1 of each...so DO follow these as a guide moving forward. I'm not going to change the drop down as it also matches the main. Leave all current books as they are.

Lory...we don't think one color really is dominant/50%+ on this one...we're wondering about putting this with one of the open Winners Tower slots...or certainly Crayola Towers.

Hope everyone has been doing well. We seem to have started off the challenge at a wonderful pace, and as of today, we are in 1st place!!

Now, some spreadsheets might not be updated yet, but either way, we have made excellent progress thus far with books read and mini-tasks. We still need 2 600+ books and 13 500-599 books, but at the rate that we are reading, we should cross those off in no time :)

I just started listening to The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, so that one's 541

And I plan to read The Queen’s Price this month, so that's another 500 page one.

I've also got Billionaires And Babes Edition and Beasts And Beauties Edition checked out from KU. I may not get to them until June, but they are each over 1500 pages.

My hold for Outlander came in a lot faster than I thought so I'm on that journey. 850 pages is huge for me. 😱 It will probably take me the full 21 days that I have the hold. I will probably read 2 or 3 other books in different formats in the mean time.

I remember when I read Outlander…it took until about Pg 160…it felt slow until then…from then on it was great. One of my favorite series all time.

@ALL...a friendly reminder that the book you read is the book/page number you should be linking up. Only exception for the page number is BOM...for those you should still link the version you are reading, but the page numbers are for the page number indicated at the BOM command center for that book.

I am having trouble with The Far Pavilions on the SS, currently row 130.. Correct link is entered, but it reads as a Harry Potter book when you click on it during proofreading. This is evidently some kind of known problem. I tried entering on a new row, but the problem carried over.

Sorry...the solution appears beyond my SS knowledge level.

It tested on http://mkweb.bcgsc.ca/color-summarizer/? as 74% violet, which I thought was light purple.

Moving it off the color page now.

This has been a pretty common GoodReads issue that has been occurring recently. Nothing to worry about, as long as when we click the link it goes to the correct book :)

That is the problem because when you click the link it goes to Harry Potter.

Whe you click on edit cell, the correct link for Far Pavilions is there. But there is some kind of ghost link to Harry Potter and the Goblet....

Since The Far Pavilions finishes the team 600+ page book goal....

I moved Love for the Spinster to an L row, and away from the colors page to be used as violet purple

If there a way to get links for the last two moderators, Mary and Susan, on the Moderator Tower, installed on the SS?

For those two, use the link below them to see all the BOMs before 2020. They are not current mods and have private profiles, so we just need prior BOMs.

Hi can anyone help me with updating the spreadsheet with Love and other flight delay i finished it on 14/05/2023

Hello everyone, just dropping in for an update. I've not really been reading much as I am still away. I fly home on Thursday which will be another long day of travel (although not as long as getting here). I'm hoping to get some good reading done on the journey home and maybe finish at least one of the BOMs I have started. I will definitely finish the three BOMs this month and maybe a few other books too.

I don't see anything different, but that could be my system. The other night when I logged on I saw an additional sheet that was "Copy of Books". But by the time Kylie saw it the next morning, it was gone. Technology has a mind of it's own!

The only thing I see that we are doing differently now is that a lot of books are listed as "Free Choice" rather than a page range. That is because our tower is built, but there is no penalty for reading more books. If you look on the Summary sheet, and scroll down to "Towers Built", you can see that for many of the page ranges, we already have enough for the month. So any books that fall in that range now are marked as Free Choice.

False alarm caused by using a different device....I was in different room, picked up the android device in that room, and while I could access the SS, it was very different.

I was on a different device and managed to reach SS "Team Ti," NOT "Ti - Tracking" SS.
