Nichole | 1862 comments Hi Team!

I'm so excited for this again. I've been trying to knock out some series this year but I always end up starting a million new ones >.< I need help! :)

I'm from Oklahoma so I'm on Central time too. I read Romance-all kinds, UF, and Fantasy. I'm pretty boring so not a lot to say :P

Let's see if I can come up with some names...

Yeah, not so good at this lol.

The Perfect Fifth
The Elite Five
Series Liquidators/Assassins
Five on the Fly
5 O'Clock Somewhere
5 Finger Death Punch
Gimme Five
Nickel to Spare
The Rule of Five

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Hey team!!

I love this challenge. I'm on the west coast and willing to be captain if no one else wants to. I'll try to come up with some names too, but I'm not always that great with those. lol

Team Name Ideas

5 Wicked Readers

I am in NYC. I like the names you guys have suggested, particularly 5
O'Clock Somewhere! That is appropriate for a differently time zoned team!

Kme_17 | 543 comments It is easy Stormi once you get into it : )

message 14: by Nichole (new)

Nichole | 1862 comments It's very easy Stormi. Basically, we get to roll the dice on Fridays and move along the board however many spaces. Say, we roll a 6 and a 6 for our first roll, that puts us on space 12. We can read a #1, #2, #12 in a series or the alternate option for that space (Read 2014). You have to write a short review and it has to be in by Friday. We can't roll again until all reviews are in so it's best to have it done by Thursday. That's pretty much it! Here are some key points. Of course if you have any questions we can help or ask Jenne in the Q&A thread.

✸Page limit is 150
✸Standalone books can be used for a 1 or a 0
✸First in a series can be used for a 1
✸When posting your review, please include a link to the book, date finished, a rating, and a review. Your review doesn't have to be fancy. When using an alternate option please link the correct edition of your book.

★Publication years, any edition so long as it is published in the given year.
★Covers must be at least 50%
★Locations as long as the book takes part in the given location at some point in the book.
★Author letters, first, middle, or last name must start with the given letter.
★Title letters, must be the first word in the title excluding the, a, and.
★Cover Item, must have the given item on the cover.
★The alternates with links are for shelves, your book must be on the given shelf.
★New item - Text item, your book must contain the given word and need to include the sentence with it and location when posting your review. Plurals will be ok to use.

Great explanation for Stormi, too

message 17: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments Thanks Nichole for explaining everything. I can't post on Goodreads during the day while I'm at work unless I use my tablet, but it's such a pain to post on there and I'm so busy at work I haven't even brought my tablet this week. lol

But I'm almost always on here late into the evening and I'm on the west coast, so I'm usually on here long after everyone else is in bed. And because of that, I get to roll at 10:01 pm my time on Thursdays which is usually earlier than the other teams.

I'll let Jenne know we picked a captain and a team name!

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) | 58 comments Nichole,

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) | 58 comments Going with alternate and reading Dauntless (Valiant Hearts, #1) by Dina L. Sleiman Let me know if this doesn't work since it's my first time participating. :)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) | 58 comments Okay I might have to scratch Dauntless, someone told me it can't be a book I already started..though I started that one about three weeks ago and never finished it cause it's boring..I was going to try..LOL So off to search for something else. :(

message 29: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) | 4285 comments yeah sorry Stormi. The only way Dauntless would work is if you started it over now that we've rolled.

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) | 58 comments Okay so will this book work Dark Alchemy by Laura Bickle cause she is holding a gun but it's small so I didn't know if it would work. :) Trying to find a review book that I can fit into this category. :)

Stormi (StormReads) (bmreviewsohmy) | 58 comments So I got a Yep about the above book from the main peeps so I am going to go with Dark Alchemy for my book with a weapon she has a gun in her hand. :)

Dirty Red (Love Me with Lies, #2) by Tarryn Fisher by Tarryn Fisher
Rating: 3 Stars
Finished: 3/19/15

I knew I was going to hate Leah. She is a despicable, horrible human being and this book just brought all of that out even more. I don’t know how anyone could like her. I don’t know how Caleb married her and stayed married to her. That’s some ridiculously strong guilt he’s got. I always felt like she was the worst of the three of them; that her sins were miles above Olivia and Caleb’s. That did not change when I read this book. I almost couldn’t read this. I almost had to put it down because she’s so horrible and Caleb is so stupid, but I knew I had to keep going and ultimately, I’m glad I did.

I love their relationship and how it grows. I will definitely read the others in the series.

I really loved the first book in this series and this book #2 started off really well. But the sniping between Liall and Scarlet went on for too long and (view spoiler) I am still looking forward to Book #3 but it feels more like stories I've read before and not something "new"... we'll see!

This was the first book I have read by this author. It was really strange. Petra moves to Temperance to sort of escape and maybe find her father, but she ends up in the middle of some strange and very weird stuff and in the middle of two guys who want to own the town. Petra is a tough character and I really enjoyed her I just wish it would have ended a little different than it did. I do know I wouldn't mind check out some other books from this author.

Alternate: Weapon on the cover
Book: Sempre by J.M. Darhower
Sempre (Forever, #1) by J.M. Darhower
Date Completed: 3/24/15
Rating:★★★★☆

Haven Antonelli was born into slavery in the California desert. After a failed attempt at escape, she is sold to Dr. Vincent DeMarco. She has only known cruelty and struggles with her new role in the DeMarco household. Slave? Servant? Family member?

Carmine DeMarco is rich, good looking, arrogant and volatile. He's also the Principe of La Famiglia. As soon as he meets Haven, he is drawn to her. She makes him a better person and he gives her the strength to become a person. The Mafia Prince and the slave fall in love.

“But then she happened. The girl who had never been able to call her life her own taught a boy who had the world at his fingertips exactly what it meant to live."

But of course, there are complications. Secrets upon secrets. Neither of them are aware of the things that have been set in motion for years or exactly what connection Haven has to all of it. In the end, they learn the price of her freedom.

“Some things in life only happen once, the memories of them lasting forever. They're moments that alter you, turning you into a person you never thought you'd become, but someone you were always destined to be."

I listened to the audio of this and thought it was very well done. It's a long one though (19hrs and 6 mins). However, I was completely engrossed. Think NA romance meets The Godfather. Different. I really liked it!

I am totally hooked on this series. It's fun and fast paced. I love Rylee and I adore Alex. I think Liam is perfect for Rylee, I hope that all comes together. I really need to make more of an effort to read this instead of waiting for it to fall into a challenge. I hope the rest of the series is as fun as the first two books have been.

This book was an emotional roller coaster that I couldn't get off of...and I didn't want to. I have a soft spot for military romances and this one was perfect. Fisher and Lucy were amazing and I really loved getting to read their story.

I love Tara Sivec's hilarious side, but this side of her is amazing too. I am a forever fan of Tara's and now I need to get to the rest of her work that I own, but have not read.
