I enjoyed this book. Eloisa James is always witty and entertaining. She says in an afterword that she took liberties with the language (and I would say with a lot of the action, too) because this is a fairytale, not a historical.
But I didn't love the book. Kate and Gabriel were a bit too brittle and it was a bit too farcical for me. But it is a fun book and I will always happily read more Eloisa James.

The Edge of Never #1
Book: The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski

I've been reading a lot of NA lately. Why do I do this to myself?!? It's full of angst and it usually depresses me. I must like the torture.
First of all, I listened to the audiobook which is narrated by Lauren Fortgang. I absolutely love her but I only know her as the voice of Gin Blanco. It took me a while to not picture Camryn as the Spider. I kept waiting for her to pull out her silver-stone knives.
Anyways, this started off really slow. I found myself zoning out and having to rewind parts. It wasn't until about the halfway mark that things started picking up. Of course, there was always this cloud of doom lurking in the background and it isn't until the last 30% or so that you get an idea of what is coming. And then, BAM! Sucker-punch end followed by a HEA epilogue. Um, what?
I debated on the rating because of the first half and then the WTF almost end. The saving grace was Andrew. I really loved that guy. I'll read the next book just for him.

Wow this was a well written book. The author just has a way of writing that paints a wonderful picture. The book has a lot of mythology in it, which makes the plot so much more interesting to me. It just pulled me in and did not let me go. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I have never read this author, but I have heard so many good things about her other series. So when this one came up on Netgalley I thought it would be a great way to try the author out.
Now I know that a lot of series has a little bit of a build up before it starts to get interesting, but this book totally bored me until about 60% into it and then it picked up and stayed that way for about 30% then the last 10% slowed back down but that is normal.
I am not a fan of books that take so long for me to get invested in the book and what is happening. I thought this book would have a lot more action and be faster paced than what it was and at time I really wanted to quit reading it and move on to the next book.
The last part of this book redeemed it a little and I am curious to see what happens so I will give the next book in the series a try as I know some times first books can be duds and second books can be better.
I did like that the MC was one kick ass herione who could handle herself and was the bodyguard for a guy who could also hold his own if his mother would give him a chance..lol.
Overall, I think it could have been a better start to a new series but others might have a different opinion.

Could you do me a favor when you have a minute and update your review with the date you finished the book, please? Thank you!!

Wow this book packed a punch. It was supposed to be an "in between the books novella" and while it had that novella feel, it also had the roller coaster ride of a full length novel. I love Easy, I like what he brings the group, but I had no idea what he was going through. I really appreciate the way that Laura Kaye handle Easy in this book.
I also liked that Jenna had a very similar situation, although not nearly as deep as Easy's. I think Easy and Jenna were great together. It was really easy to forget their differences and just feel with them.
I love this series and I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.

Stage Dive #2
Book: Play by Kylie Scott

Man, I LOVED this book! It went straight to my favorites shelf. The whole time I had a stupid cheesy grin plastered to my face. Mal and Anne were hilarious. I could go on and on but I'm going to make this short.
Anne's roommate bailed on her. Mal saw Eve's nipple. It was Destiny. The deal, Mal moves in with Anne to help her and she pretends to be his girlfriend. Of course, that never works when there is even an inkling of attraction. The road from pretend to real is hilarious, sweet, sexy and even a little sad. Anne gets a backbone and Mal learns that it's okay to be sad. They were fantastic together! Crazy-eyes and the Rock star :)
It was so hard not to devour the next book right away. I'm going to try to hold off for a #3 roll. We'll see!

It is really good. I just finished the third book last night. I love these guys.

Even thought in the end I enjoyed this one I think I had a bit of second book syndrome as it just didn't hold up as well in comparison to the first book in the series.
I do love the misadventures that Rye seems to have each time but there were times when it was a little bit slow and I some times wanted to put it down. The ending has left me curious about the next adventure that Rye will take.
It's a good middle grade adventure series.

This one was a cute book. It was a take on the Jane Austen 's Emma but set in the Amish country. I enjoy the way the author really pulled you in the setting. However she still stays true to the sprit of Emma. A great mix. I did sometimes get frustrate with the heroine. In the end though I liked her a lot.

This is a solid 3 stars while the first book in the series was a weak 3 stars... Jesse has had a crush on his brother's friend Aaron since they were kids. Aaron's crush was on the brother. Now Aaron is back from a stint in the military and Jesse is an artist living alone in the mountains. There is still an edge that's just not real to these books and that's why I can't rate them higher but in this one the family dynamics were less irritating. I think the addition of the family does add depth but it can be overdone.

Ack! I hate when that happens!

Your just excited to find out what our new book number is going to be. :)

I really loved this book. Graham and Rikker's story is really well told and I loved both of them. There is lots of drama and angst but it didn't seem forced and you could sense their connection in the scenes of them together. I think there is one more book in this series and I'm looking forward to it. I hope it's Bella's story!

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series and I have no idea what made me wait so long to read this one. I absolutely loved Gray. He was sweet and hot and strong. And I loved Sam. Her strength and resilience was so amazing. I could gush forever about this book and these characters. Gray's big gesture...so freaking sweet.
I can't wait to read more in this series.

Stage Dive #3
Book: Lead by Kylie Scott

I really didn't expect to love this. I mean, it was Jimmy's story and he's an ass! Guess what, he's still an ass but at least now I understand why. It doesn't exactly excuse his behavior though. His assery should get a star removed but I just couldn't do it. I devoured this audio without pause. Thank God for Lena! If Lena can forgive him then so can I :)
Jimmy had a crappy childhood and then made very poor decisions that basically left him without anyone on his side. He's bitter, he's mean, he did it to himself but he's trying to get his crap together again. Luckily, he has Lena to help him.
Lena is hired as his personal assistant and live-in sobriety companion. It's not easy living with a Rock star. I loved the way she handled him. Seriously, she is a Saint! Somehow she manages to see beyond the mask and falls in love with him. When her 'crush' is revealed, he sets out to help her get over him by setting her up. Hilarity ensues!
These books always hit the spot for me. I get emotionally invested in the characters, good and bad. Except for the manager guy, he's a real douche. They always make me laugh, but I also cry, get pissed, happy sigh, and forgive. Kylie Scott does great banter! I'm sad to see the series end with the next book and hope she writes another series soon. She has now become an auto-buy author for me and I highly recommend the audios. They're perfect!

This book was so good! I could not put it down. It is written so beautiful. It is about such hard topic suicide. However, it is handle so well. Finch and Violet are such wonderful characters. Their relationship is great . Guys read this one it is just great.: )

I had a lot of high hopes for this book but it really just didn't bring it. The blurb makes it sound like it's going to have scary creatures and be a bit scary but instead I got a book full of teenage boys drinking in a cemetery with a few moments of action. :(
It read quickly but I kept hoping something would happen but was disappointed. I didn't even really care that much for the main character Stephen as he was a bit of a jerk, especially to his dad. (I could understand some of it but still.)
Just had high hopes for it and fell flat. :(

I absolutely love the Marked Men series. I like Rowdy, but he's never been at the top of my list of the guys. This story made me really appreciate him and like him even more than I did before. And Salem...I adored Salem. She is feisty and strong and perfect for not only Rowdy, but for the Marked Men gang.
A lot of other things happen in this book. New characters are introduced, new things happen for some of my favorites. The story also begins in this book for Royal and Asa. I cannot wait to see how those two get along. I waited too long to read Rowdy, but I know that I won't hesitate when it comes time to re-read it.
