Hooked on Books discussion

This one is going to be fun to find books for. Any recommendations for bats on the cover? I'm out of town until Sunday but I'm going to staying with family so hopefully I'll have a little downtime to get at least one book read for this one. It looks like it's time to dust off some paranormal romance books. Off to find the vampires....

I legit went and looked when the new Briggs book came out but that's so far away. It will work for a monster eventually, I'm sure. I really like that series. Let me go look up those other ones.

I've been on a bit of a sabbatical lately, and now seem to feel its my duty to have an audiobook going in my headphones at all times - lol. I just listened to The Aeronaut's Windlass as a reread before reading #2 in the series, and the audiobook was great!

Lol - well, I'm doing a challenge on coffee, and learning about coffee's history. I just learned that when coffee made its way to Europe, people were suspicious of it and some called it "the bitter invention of Satan." That struck my fancy and I was drinking a cup at the time so... :D

You didn't miss it. I have one planned. All the other challenges keep getting in the way. I'm going to start it VERY soon!

LOL - I know the feeling! I am participating in WAY too many non-individual challenges right now - but c'est la vie :)

I'm also in tons of challenges so I understand. Hopefully you can find a bat book that fits for other challenges. I was lucky to have that happen and it really helped. Summer is good over here. Busy with random trips/work stuff but it's not bad. It sure is hot outside though. How's everyone's summers going?

Summer has been good. You're not kidding that it's been hot. Mid to high 90s for the next few days again in Philadelphia. I'll spend some time in the pool today😎

Summer's going well! Family took a last minute trip to Cape Cod the first week of July - our first trip with all 4 of us in a few years - we ended up renting the perfect cottage. The couple had just put the cottage on a cape cod rental site the day we checked it THE MONDAY BEFORE we left - I really didn't think we were going to find a place so last minute. The cottage was on ocean property that abutted a state park, so stairs down to a private beach and NO NEIGHBORS - lol. You had to drive 50 seconds down a restricted road through the park just to get to it. All you heard in the morning were the seals and nature. Affordable and allowed our dog - we just really lucked out.

Teddie, I ended up reading your bat book. The book I planned on reading was no longer on KU nor at my library.

I agree! Let's take them all down. General tasks should be easy to knock out faster than bats.

About Na Kika (view spoiler)[
Na Kika is a multi-colored octopus-like Titan. Most of his body is blue with the top sides of his tentacles pink. His eyes are light blue. He has a maroon fin on his back and an insect-like face. His blood is green. He is incredibly powerful using his tentacles in combat. They are strong enough to shatter bullet-proof glass and can drag down an entire marine Monarch outpost. He can regenerate body parts and has multiple hearts which allow him to survive fatal wounds. Highly intelligent and able to recognize that a containment field only works on living Titans. He can mimic other states such as death by disguising his radiation signature. This allows him to escape the containment fields that Monarch uses. He can also change the color and patterns of his shell and skin to become invisible.

He was awakened by King Ghidorah's call. He faked being dead and launched a surprise attack sinking the outpost surrounding him. He did not arrive in time to witness Godzilla become the new alpha. While searching for a place to rest, he was poisoned and captured in an electrified net by traffickers. Godzilla freed him and eliminated the humans while Na Kika swam away. He was sent into dormancy by Godzilla. (hide spoiler)]
