📝Review ✍🏽: Love this book. Their romance is fun and his level of grumpiness to her sunshine, together with the funny remarks and teasing was hilarious. Willa is a great character, I want to be her friend😂. It's a slow burn, with the first kiss around page 176 and steamy things only happen around 55% mark, but when it does it's steamy af. Also, age gap, single dad and cowboy romance are some of the tropes here.

Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5. Karla Gacey, like fellow mail-order bride machine authors Amelia Rose, Emma Ashwood and Linda Bridey, will never win a Pulitizer. But, I enjoy the stories and they are better relaxation conduits then food, alcohol or RX drugs. This one follows a Harvard medical school educated woman as she attempts to start a relationship with a frontier Minnesota blacksmith, with the 19th century equivolent of a helicopter mom.

Bittersweet
Bittersweet (True North, #1) by Sarina Bowen

Rating (1-5) ⭐⭐⭐
Review: The writing was good, the plot was fine, and sets up well for a series which the author has. As Taylor says, "It's me. Hi..I'm the problem it's me!" I am just not really a fan of contemporary romance unless it is on the dark side. So small town, farmer is just not going to do it for me no matter how hot Griff is.

And, I in general was not a fan of Audrey. I read a book recently where the woman was in the culinary world/chef and it was just not something that I care about at all. The restaurant business and rich girl trope just didn't do it for me. I probably will not continue the series because I know what I like to read, and M/F contemporary is just not it. I know what I like xX(shrug)Xx

Good Girl Complex (Avalon Bay, #1) by Elle Kennedy
Book: Good Girl Complex
Read: 11/5/23
Rating: 4 stars

Review:
I enjoyed this book and the slow burn, story of opposites attract. I have found a good author whose books I've enjoyed and am reading more and more of as I come across them. The MC's, Mac and Cooper, were a really cute couple that I fell in love with. I always love a snarky character and bantering between two people, and they filled the bill where that's concerned. I am anxious to read the next book and see where their relationship goes. There was a lot of drama in the story, probably too much for my liking, but I still really enjoyed the book overall.

Sparrow (Boston Belles, #0.5) by L.J. Shen
Read: 11/12/23
Rated: 4.5 stars
Review: Wasn’t sure what was coming about with this story but wow. I really enjoyed all of the twist and turns with these two.
Troy is definitely not the knight in shining armor but I think he grows on you towards the end. He’s the guy you want to hate for sure. He annoyed me throughout the story but like Sparrow, you just love to hate him but can’t because he’s like that annoying bug that eventually gets you to want him around and keep him. Sparrow is a strong heroine. Even though she may be afraid, she still stands up for herself every time and never backs down when it comes to telling Troy and others off in a kind or screw them with a smile type of way. Really enjoyed this story.

Butcher & Blackbird (The Ruinous Love Trilogy, #1) by Brynne Weaver

Rating (1-5) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: This was my first book by Brynne Weaver and I do not think it will be my last. If you manage to read the TW in the beginning and think, huh...I could probably be okay with that...this book will delight you! It is more of a dark romcom I would say than dark romance. It is a SLOW burn with a HOT pay off. Two serial killers end up falling for each other traveling the country murdering bad guys, how entertaining! I listened to the audible version which Joe Arden, if you have not heard anything of his, is excellent. This was not just dual POV, it was a duet narration. THIS is exactly what I've been searching for in audio books! Where the MFC and the MMC go back and forth seamlessly in speaking so you hear a conversation back and forth.

I thought it was funny the they thought they were going to have a peaceful life. Not being part of the world they're use to. Now who would have thought that to be true, not me, hahaha. The setting is in occupied Paris, France during WWII. Kate's father sends her to England to bring her sister Ellie back home. But Ellie has found a man she is romantically interested in and Kate doesn't care for him. Their father sends Barrett to Paris to bring them both home and he and Kate fall in love. And there is the storyline of the four and many things that happen during a war.
