Cameron sat down next to him. “Normally it’s easier to start with something that’s right next to you in real time.” He pondered thoughtfully. “Hm, what about…me?” He blinked innocently.
Cameron shifted in his seat, waiting patiently for Luke to finish.
Cameron smiled. “Woah, you have talent! Dare I say, I might even be a bit jealous.”
“Don’t be too modest, it’s really good! I should frame it,” he teases, and clears his throat. “Uh, you wanna go get some lunch?”
Cameron got in line, Luke close behind him. “You know what’s for lunch?”
“Why not? You brought a home lunch?” Cameron asked.
Cameron shrugged. “You wanna go do that? I think that sounds better than eating PB&J sandwiches,” he said, looking at the menu.
Cameron and Luke exited the line and made their way out of the lunchroom.
(U wanna make Luke's dorm, or just go to Cameron's?)
Cameron rubbed his black eye, trying to wake himself up. He felt like he’d been run over by a bus
Cameron tapped Luke on the shoulder. “Hey, sleep well?”
“Nah, now I don’t have to pretend to be tough anymore, cause I look it!” Cameron said cheerily
Cameron looked as if he was weighing his options. “Hm, another person could beat me up, this time for budging, but, at least I’d be next to you right? That’d make it worth it” he said shuffling into line behind Luke
“you won’t be there next time, though” Cameron whispered under his breath, barely audible
(my time zone is central daylight time)
Cameron forced a smile. “Nothing,” he said as they moved up further in the line
“History, I think, what about you?” Cameron asked as he put pancakes on his tray
Cameron looked like he was going to say something, but instead put on another smile. “Want me to grab us a table?”
Cameron sat down and debated following him just in case he wasn’t actually going to the bathroom
“Everything good?” Cameron leaned on the doorframe
He raised his eyebrows slightly. “You can trust me with what you’re thinking about.” He said softly
Cameron's face fell. “I would tell you—but it’s a bit complicated.”
“Wait,” Cameron said. “I'll tell you eventually—but you have to tell me eventually too”
He smiled. “You know.” And promptly turned around and left.
He clapped his hands together. “Y'know, something S.H.I.E.L.D. taught me is if you think somebody has a secret, you should pretend you know it to make them crack.” Cameron sat down at the table. “That’s what I’m doing, Barnes”
“That’s what they all say,” Cameron leaned in, and booped Luke on the nose. “Well, this has been fun, but I gotta head to history.”
He did a two finger salute. “Good luck with that, Luke. See you around,”
(ok where are they meeting next? got any ideas?)
