How will you separate out published books from those on the possible launch pad?
I review for two main-line authors and love to read a potential best seller. If a book is published I feel my arms are somewhat tied and whatever my views, reviews or comments they are muted to an extent. Curious...

Thank-you Vincent. I hope to learn alot of valuable information to help promote my first book. I'm new to social media and find it very interesting. I think of myself as an obsessive reader. I read everything to include backs of cereal boxes and instructions. It's amazing the tidbits in the small print.

As an old dodderer (is that spelled right?)I verge on the technophobic, so please excuse any signs of techno struggles in my relationship with the group. I look forward to getting more involved as I find my way round the site. It will be rather slow going as I am dependent on a stick for support!

Vince--Thank you for setting up this group! It's a great idea, but (as someone else said) a lot of work for you.

Vincent, is this group tagged as a "goodreads authors" group? Today I saw that category and clicked on it and was a little suprised this group wasn't there (or not on the first several pages anyway). I have no idea how those categories are assigned, but I think we'd be found more often if we were listed as "goodreads authors".

And for the record, I think this group is a great concept - which is why I want it popping up on every Goodread Member's screen.

Yes, I've noticed that too when I've searched for it on Goodreads.

I'm not certain how they tag/assign groups.

Perhaps someone could teach me so I could see if there's anything I can do to increase its views.

I believe, as a moderator, you can select the category. Edit your heading information and select the category you want. Course, if that's already set as 'authors' than I haven't a clue.

I changed the category specifically to "authors," which will at least help writers find the group. (It's a bit tricky, because we are also looking for readers. Perhaps the group invites will help get the word out for this category.)

??? I replied to this but my post isn't showing up ??? Curious.

Anyway, my comment was that on other groups I've read that GR Readers are often proactively trying to support GR Authors. This new category will help them if they are so inclined. So well done Vince!

You might consider switching it back and for periodically, from authors to readers. Say, once a month or some such.

Does this mean we only get one category at a time? How limiting.

There's no a category that includes both.

Maybe the programmer at Goodreads will see this group and include a category for both. :D

Maybe you could figure out how to ask for such a thing.

Also you will find your list or to-read books will get extremely big. Are you an author or a reader or both?

Hey Caitlin, this Goodreads site is awesome. I think your list of to-reads will sky rocket and you will meet so many interesting authors and readers. Also check out the drawings to win some books. What types of books do you like?
