Alisa Just finished A Hunger So Wild I loved the hero of this book. Probably going to be one of my all time favorites. Elijah is the reluctant Alpha werewolf who has had to take over during a war between angels and vampires. So often in these books the hero takes lot's of crap from the heroine but not Elijah. When she acts bad he tells her "I'm better than that". He's cold as ice......until he's not and boy oh boy when he's not. Some truely awesomely naughty scenes. Did you like the first book in the series, Alisa? I was interested because I love angel stuff.

Yeah I did. I like angels too and I think this is a really good series. I'm surprised it doesn't get more hype. The premise of the storyline is that many years ago some angels became involved with humans & God cast them to earth as vampires. Adrien, who the first book is about, is the angel God chose to lead the angels & to police the vampires. Another group of angels who should have fallen made a deal with Adrien that they would forever serve the angels & they are lycans (werewolves more or less). Fast forward to today where there are all kinds of problems between the 3 groups. Lot's of good characters & a fast paced storyline.

I finally got Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward and Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward from the BDB series. I have heard a lot of people on here talking about it and since I already finished Mile High (Up In The Air, #2) by R.K. Lilley I needed something new. I was actually rereading my Rock Chicks books. Those are always my go-to books...pretty much anything from Kristen Ashley not just the Rock Chicks Series.

Alisa I recently finished reading Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1) by Kristen Ashley I know it's a popular read on the groups but I didn't care for it that much. The heroine got on my nerves and NOTHING she did made any sense to me. I then read Dragon Actually (Dragon Kin, #1) by G.A. Aiken which I liked. I don't usually read historical or medievel period books but I liked this story and the characters. Currently reading Last Kiss Goodnight (Otherworld Assassin, #1) by Gena Showalter The plot is good but the story is very, very slow. I love her LOTU and this is, imo, no where as good.

I think you will like the BDB books. The first 3 were my favorites of the series (well them & anything to do w/ Vischous). Hope you enjoy them.

I'm hoping to pick up Last Kiss Goodnight when I go to the story today or tomorrow. Too bad it's not as good as the LOTU books though. I enjoyed Dragon Actually as well. Haven't tried any Kristen Ashley yet, but she's on the list.

Kryptonite (sg34) | 406 comments I agree. LOTU is a better series and I also enjoyed Dragon Actually.
I read 2 of Kristen Ashley's books and I don't understand what the hype is about. First book was good but the dialogue became repetitive. That just got annoying.
The 2nd book was the same as the first in the character build-up of both H/h and same manner of speech. And again with the repetitive dialogues. The books are good if you’re bored but I wouldn’t call it great. It took me several days to finish both books.
KA repeats the traits of her H/h in all of her books but just puts them in different scenarios.

True...there are only a few that I read again that that is the Ava/Luke and the Hector/Sadie stories for the Rock Chicks. Which books did you read? In the Dream Man Series I only really liked Motorcycle Man. I didn't even bother reading Law Man. I liked the Colorado Mtn Series though and the Burg Series too.

message 5318: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh another note, I already finished the Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #1) by J.R. Ward . I can see why a lot of people like it. It is different than a lot of other vampire series I have read. Kind of reminds me of the Midnight Breed Series though. It is still a good book. I already started on the 2nd book. I'm interested in Zsadist's story though. Scary as hell, but the voice of an angel??? hmmm

I agree-the Colorado Mountain series was great, Motorcycle Man was the only good book in the Dream Man series and I didn't like Rock Chick

Oh, and I think Zsadist's book is probably the best in the series

The first book of KA I read was Breathe. I thought it was a good read. The hero was different from what I've read before. But the repetitive lines made it hard to finish.
The 2nd one was Motorcycle Man. Realized it was the same hero, different plot.
I started reading Wild Man but stopped after a few chapters... couldn't get myself to continue. I'll might finish it eventually... a couple of pages at a time.

I like BDB but I understand some of the complaints that people have with it. That being said......I LOVED Zsadist story. Loved it. One of my all time favorite pnr books ever. If you like it & have an ereader you should read Father Mine when you're done with Lover Awakened. It's a more detailed part that is left out of Lover Awakened. Beautiful story that will bring tears to your eyes.

Alisa I finshied Last Kiss Goodnight (Otherworld Assassin, #1) by Gena Showalter and I have to say it was very disappointing. Only a 2 star book for me. It was really slow and never picked up. I was also expecting some good, steamy sex scenes in LOTU style. Nope. Not here. Total YA style. You wait till 3/4 of the book for the hero & heroine to even get together then it's a kiss & fade to black.....Blah.....

Thanks for the review. I'm not sure about trying out this book. I read book 1 of the alien huntress. Found it to be a slow reading and difficult to finish. I thought this book might be like that.

Cant wait to read Iced although I am a bit anxious whether I can bear a full book from Dani's perspective, the Fever series is my favourite ever, closely followed by the BDB. Currently reading Lover Mine (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #8) by J.R. Ward . Was told it wasn't as good as the rest but loving it just as much!
