What's your favorite line?

"That's my daughter you Bitch!" - Molly Weasley
"Always" - Severus Snape
"There's the Silver-lining I was looking for" - Ginny Weasley
And my all-time favorite:
"...he could not see any of the people he loved, no hint of Hermione, Ron, Ginny or any of the other Weasleys, no Luna. He felt he would have given all the time remaining to him for just one last look at them; but then, would he ever have had the strength to stop looking?"

aww! I LOVE those quotes! (I mean, who doesn't?)

in the 6th book, when Hermione leaves the table to go on a date with Cormac Mclaggen, one of my All-Time Favorite lines is, 'Harry was left to ponder t..."
Ha ha! Those are great...let me find some...this is gonna take a while...

"What are Fred and I? Next door neighbors?"
Loll
'NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU B**CH'
'Always'
'Always'

Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it isn't real?
Not my daughter you b***h!
Bloody hell!
Wicked!
And this one, I know this is not a dialogues but I love it-
His hand automatically closed around the fake Horcrux, but in spite of everything, in spite of the dark and twisting path he saw stretching ahead for himself, in spite of the final meeting with Voldemort he knew must come whether in a month, in a year or in ten, he felt his heart lift at the thought that there was still one last golden day of peace left to enjoy with Ron and Hermione.
The scar had not pained Harry for nineteen years. All was well.

"Always."
Sweetest. Romance. Ever.

it is our choices that show us who wa are, far more than our abilities. - chamber of secrets
and the end of book 4 he asks the students if they make the right choice or the easy choice.
love it! so wize!

"Always."
Sweetest. Romance. Ever."
Completely agree
I like this humorous one best: (From the Movies)
Ron : Why didn't Ginny say hi to me? I'm her brother.
Seamus Finnigan : There's millions of brothers, but only one Harry Potter.
I like this one too.
Harry's scar had not pained him for 20 years. All was well.

There's funny ones from everybody at one point or another, inspirational ones from Dumbledore, touching ones.....
But admittedly, the one that immediately comes to mind is:
Dumbledore: "Lily? After all this time?"
Severus Snape: "Always."

"Yeah, Quirrel was a great teacher. There was just that minor drawback of him having Lord V..."
OMG Whitney I love all those quotes - they are all so funny!

anyway my favourite line is at the end of the chapter "The Phoenix Lament" where Harry realizes the phoenix has left Hogwarts never to return again.
Ranajeet wrote: "Harry Potter on its own stands tall but when compared to quotes from LOTR it is way behind."
Oh, I don't know. I'll have to agree with JKR that she has better jokes. :)

"Bloody hell!"
"Just because you have the emotional range of a teaspoon!"
"Can I see uranus too, Lavender?"
Argh, so many more!

That and all the other funny lines that have been posted prior to mine hehe...

"The last one that shall be destroyed is Death." from Lily and James' gravestone.
"I see myself holding a pair of socks." Dumbledore's answer to when Harry asked him what he sees in the Mirror of Erised.
"Make way for the heir of Slytherin, seriously evil wizard coming through..." Fred and George.
"We'll send you a Hogwarts toilet seat!" George to Ginny in Harry's first year.

Still, why hasn't any mentioned this one? -
"Always".
:'( Snape! That's always going to be one of my absolute favorites.
And Sirius, in the films - "The ones that love us never really leave us. And you can always find me... in here."

""
Haha, fair enough, apparently I didn't look carefully enough :). Still I would have felt remiss if I didn't mention it myself - glad to know i'm not alone :).

:D That along with the rest of Snape's lines it that segment, and any lines that Alan Rickman says when he's playing Snape :D.
Second favorite? I try not to have favorites, but Snape would probably be if I absolutely had to choose. Who's your favorite character?

Fair enough. What's your favorite line from each of them? I have a whole load of favorite characters in a set too.

Thats my favorite line in the entire series. It means so much to me. It's the last line in the entire series. It represents that everything turned out fine and the end of an era. I have that written on my hand with the Deathly Hallows sign underneath.

My friend was waiting in the bookstore for the last Harry Potter book, and someone in front of her in the line turned around and read out the last two sentences to the whole book store! That would have annoyed me so much.
:) But I like that line too.
"Besides, the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are."
I always thought this quote carried a lot of meaning for who a person truly is.
"Not my daughter, you bitch!"
When she said this I laughed so hard and thought that Molly Weasley was not an official bad ass lol.
"The truth is a beautiful and terrible thing, and should therefore be treated with caution."
A quote that was said in the first book that could be continuous related to many instances of the series.

"He had no memory of being hugged like this, as though by a mother."

"NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!!!!" :D
The ultimate winner.

I pratically chocked from all the laughter here XD

Who says that? For some reason I don't recognize it...Crap, this is going to lead to me reading the whole series again until I find it.

Sorry for butting in :) but I think that it's from the Prisoner of Azkaban film, in Divination class when they are reading tea leaves. Of course, Divination is hilarious in the books too!
That's right. The line is in the book too, though it's worded slightly differently. Divination class is always so much fun to watch and read about. :)

"Can I see Uranus too, Lavender?" and
Harry: "I've got two Neptune's here, that can't be right, can it?" Ron: "Aah, Harry, when two Neptune's appear in the sky, it is a sure sign that a midget in glasses is being born..." oh, and -
"From now on I don't care if my tea leaves spell 'DIE RON DIE', I'm chucking them in the bin where they belong."
:D :D :D So much fun.
I do love how Emma Thompson played Trelawney, she was perfect.
Also I really liked the following from the half blood prince:
"And without thinking, without planning it, without worrying about the fact that fifty people were watching, Harry kissed her."
