Brandy Nacole (brandynacole) Hi all! I'm the author of Uniquely Unwelcome the first book of my Shadow World Series.

Here's a synopsis:

Being unique isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

After searching all over the world for someone as unique as she is, Racquel finds herself back in her home town where she’s treated like a monster ready to kill. Racquel is one of the most unique beings ever created. Four of the most powerful beings in the Shadow World are intertwined within her, making up her unique DNA. But no matter how unique her bloodline is, she’s considered an outcast by the entire Shadow World.

Once arriving home, Racquel finds that greater evils exist and that the person she cares for most in this world, her half-sister Addie, has been kidnapped along with other Shadow World beings. Racquel finds herself facing horrible odds with those who would rather see her dead than alive.

As her journey continues, Racquel learns more about herself, what she is capable of, and that not every being looks at her as an abomination. Coy, a human captive that Racquel saved from the vampires, starts showing kindness toward her. Racquel tries putting distance between her and the human boy but as they spend more time together it becomes harder and harder for Racquel to fight the affection she wants and needs.

Will Racquel finally break down those walls she’s kept in place for so long? Or will she keep everyone out and continue to keep herself closed off from the world? Will she find the one who took her sister and the other Shadow World beings? Will the Shadow World finally accept Racquel as one of their own? Or turn against her when she needs them the most?

You can find it on amazon:

James Loftus | 1 comments Your book sounds interesting. Good luck with the big publisher. They always tell me I don't suit their list - bastards! I doubt they read my submission. It's like when I was a cop and got tasked to write up these boring as shit reports which I suspected no one would read. So, pursuing my theory, I inserted a few, let's say, inappropriate irrelevant, commentaries on what i thought of the process. Nothing was said. I was right. Some, of the routine paperwork was just plain, mandatory requirement, without purpose. I wonder why they booted me?

message 207: by [deleted user] (new)

James, I do hope that you are more sedate when you submit your work! I do believe that the literary agents do read all the submissions (very few publishers do unless they have received them from literary agents) but evidently they can be put off by many things: don't like the title, synopsis too long-winded, subject not suitable for their list, spelling and grammatical errors, bad presentation, etc. but then you know that yourself!

The reader who discovered JK Rowling's first book deserved a huge bonus!

message 208: by James (new)

James Loftus | 1 comments Yes, of course. Just venting. At times it gets frustrating climbing what seems like a vast mountain, backwards. Ultimately you get there if you deserve to and if not, it's because you weren't good enough! I know!

message 209: by [deleted user] (new)

No, you've got it all wrong! It also depends on what the respective "readers" for the literary agency decide what they like! I'm quite convinced that brilliant books have ended in the recycle bin because these reading "imbeciles" were not immediately inspired by them!

I am going to move your book up in my line up. It sounds like you could use some positive things right now. I am half through a current book. After the review I will work on yours all weekend. I will review on Goodreads Amazon ( which could help you sell more if readers like my review) I have helped sell for two other authors starting out. I will paste the review wherever it will help you. James Loftus | 1 comments No don't worry it's okay. I shouldn't whinge I've got a feature film writing credit, even though I didn't make anything I got to see my cool film script acted out. And, it turned out great. Okay, you'll have to take my word for that. It's just, writing gets frustrating. So competitive! When I watch one of those documentaries where the dinosours are wiped out and this little rat-thing, an early mammal, hangs tough and finds its niche, I love it. It became us. If it can go from a rat-thing to a people-thing, and win, so can I. If that makes sense. Thanks for the support.

Leland Pitts-Gonzalez (savage-anesthesia) Hi all, I'm new to the group. My debut novel The Blood Poetry was published in August by Raw Dog Screaming Press. A recent review on Horror Talk said, "If one new horror book out there embodies the intelligence of great literary fiction with the best elements of psychological horror, The Blood Poetry has to be it."

It's available (paperback, e-book, hard cover) on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other sites. Think "Pentecostal, conjoined-twin vampires."

Matt Drabble | 1 comments My second ebook novel "Fangland" is available for a special offer of $0.99 on www.amazon.com/Fangland-ebook/dp/B009... for download.

The criminal underworld of the city of Eagleport is ruled with razor sharp intelligence and an iron fist.

Jimmy "Eyes" Glick and Abraham "Ghost" Jacobs both came through life the hardest of ways. A chilling combination since their orphanage origins, one a
fully fledged psychopath and the other a borderline sociopath.

The organised crime empire that they have built, has its foundations laid in betrayal, blood and pain. But now that empire is crumbling and their control is slipping. Their organisation is under threat from an enemy far more different and dangerous than anything they could of ever possibly imagined.

As Ghost fights to maintain his tenuous grip over their kingdom and Jimmy's sanity, he's about to discover that some betrayals won't stay buried.

An intelligent horror thriller with depth, that mixes vampires and gangsters, The Untouchables meets the Undead Fangland by Matt Drabble

C.J. Pinard (cjpinard) Hi all...Carolyn here, I'm a moderator of this board but I am also a new author. My book "Enchanted Immortals" debuted last weekend. Check it out! Synopsis below.
http://www.amazon.com/Enchanted-Immor...

Thomas never thought he would live this long; he expected the usual lifespan of 60 to 70 years. But one terrifying night in 1946 San Francisco has changed all that; he has now been alive 86 years and still looks 20. He and his associates, Jonathan and Kathryn, have been granted Immortality by a group of sylphs belonging to the Zie – led by their queen, Malina – who possess an elixir called Enchantment. But what they and the rest of the Immortals have to do in order to keep receiving this elixir involves protecting sylphs and humans from the faeworlders – vampires and shapeshifters – who want nothing more than to eat, violate, and kill them. For Jonathan, Thomas, and Kathryn, policing the fae is a dirty job, but somebody has to do it. And the payment is eternally priceless.

V. Shaw (VShaw) | 3 comments Hey, guys. I'm a new author and I'm looking to give away free copies of my ebook, The Lady of Chains and Other Stories in return for some honest reviews.

Amazon Synopsis:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lady-Chains-O...

“Remember; you have seventy-two hours to do the deed and not a moment longer. Cut her throat and remove her heart. That, my girl, is the only way to destroy the wretched creature.”

Greylock. A city supported by a network of scaffolding, bleeding rust and wheezing steam. Patrolled by an army of ‘metal men’—creatures who’re designed for nothing more than to kill and destroy. Nothing grows. Nothing truly lives.

The tower stands like an ice-pick, pushing through a snarl of thorns, resting upon the outskirts of Greylock. Its shadow is cast across the city like an elongated clock-hand, chipping away the hours, the days. The years. It is home to the Lady of Chains, a woman incarcerated without a sentence. A woman who almost single-handedly destroyed the world . . .

Viola, a young orphan girl, has been thrust into this nightmarish world by the devious Mrs Casket, caretaker of the tower and maid to the mysterious lady. She’s been given a task which could either see her demise or be her salvation.

But who is the Lady of Chains? And why does she insist that she is connected to Viola? With the clock ticking and the metal men drawing near, Viola is about to learn that not everything is what it seems . . .

A spellbinding fantasy with elements of steampunk.

*****

INCLUDES THE SHORT STORIES;
Hansel and Gretel
Rogan and the Gargoyle
The Silent World

BONUS MATERIAL:
Also contains an preview of the up-coming vampire horror novel, The Fragile Things.

The stories are a mix of fantasy and horror. If anybody is interested, feel free to message me. It would be highly appreciated.

Thanks for your time!

Brandy Nacole (brandynacole) Hi All,
Wanted to share the synopsis for my upcoming book Ties By Blood. This is the 2nd book in my Shadow World Series. Book 1: Uniquely Unwelcome can be found on Amazon, ibookstore, lulu, and soon through createspace for paperback.

Anyway on to the synopsis for Book 2:

As someone with four Shadow bloodlines, Racquel is uniquely unwelcome even among her fellow werewolves, shape-shifters, vampires, and witches. Growing up, she was bullied and tormented for being a “hybrid,” a condition frowned upon by Shadow society. After saving her sister and a number of other kidnapped Shadows from a diabolical plot to create a Shadow army, many have found a new respect for Racquel, but she is far from accepted in Shadow society, and the evil is far from over.

To complicate matters, Racquel now finds herself torn between two brothers. Coy is caring and has helped Racquel through her struggles, and Micah, who Racquel has only met once but who is somehow, having dream conversations with him. Racquel becomes torn between following her heart while breaking it at the same time.

In the second installment of the Shadow World series, Racquel and her sister Addie face off with the Shadow leaders against a threat that could bring the world to its knees. Power will be pushed to its limit, hearts will be broken, and some will pay the ultimate price as Racquel and her group of Shadows fight against an ancient evil that is determined to make the earth bleed and Racquel with it.

Coming Soon!

This is my first novel, it is a very british vampire novel and set in Leeds, Faith is thirty one years old. Her domineering boyfriend bites her, then dumps her and the story tells of her struggle to come to terms with what happened.

It's a really interesting and new look at the Vampire legend using romany mythology mixed with a dry british humour. Have a look and tell me what you think.

E. Drake (EADrake) | 2 comments Hi I'm Sebastian, I live in the UK. I have been interested in vampires and horror for a long time and so a few years back decided to write my own erotic Vampire stories, friends said they were great and I should get them published. Last year in November I finally gained the courage to put them onto Kindle.
although this is the UK amazon link it is also on the amazon.com site as well.

To Die For (The Vampyre Compendium part 1)

A Collection of Vampire tales with an erotic twist.

To Die For! is an enthralling book which seduces the reader with erotic and romantic tales set against a historical backdrop that is rich with vampiric lore.

The book begins when an old book is found by chance, and becomes the inspiration for a very unusual dinner party where the story of the Vampire, Daniel is retold. The narrative takes the reader on a very memorable journey, from 12th century France to 19th century London, in which this unique creature of the night reaches out to embrace and captivate minds of his audience.

Allow yourself to be guided through the lives and desires of these beautiful yet dangerous creatures of the night. Learn about the origins of the Vampires and discover the story of how Bram Stoker wrote Dracula.

Step into the darkness of this book for a short time, where it is easy to imagine the caress of the cold flesh against your warmth, and hear the tantalising and desirable words spoken that only you can hear. See the world as never seen with human eyes and discover the vampire within your own erotic yet mortal soul.

To Die For! Is an erotic, amusing and thought provoking book with meaningful story lines, it will draw you in to a world from which you may never wish to return; the memories will tease you forever.
