Madeline Pryce (madelinepryce) | 11 comments Safe haven... I like that.

I'm going to pimp my Dark series published by Ellora's Cave.

Dark Cravings by Madeline Pryce
Dark Cravings

DC is a sexy, erotic paranormal romance that has been really well received!

BLURB
As a half-breed vampire, Ella Grey’s life sucks. She does her best to pass the time killing demons and secretly admiring her Shadow Hunter partner, Micah. He’s hot, dangerous and knows it. He’d be just Ella’s type if he weren’t likely to kill her the moment she put a toe out of line.

A chance encounter with a succubus changes everything. From the second the succubus’s spell washes over them, Ella and Micah are helpless to keep their hands off one another. The sex, when it’s not leaving them on the verge of death, is earth shattering and for the first time in ages Ella is connected with someone on a level she’d feared lost forever. But a dangerous prophecy has been set into motion, and if Ella’s not careful it’ll pull her straight from Micah’s arms and into the deepest bowels of the underworld.

A Romantica® Paranormal erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously published under the title Blood Lust Rising. It has been revised and expanded for EC.

Next up, set to be released on January 31st is Dark Innocence.

Dark Innocence by Madeline Pryce
Dark Innocence

BLURB
Hannah Grey will do anything to escape the tortured memories haunting her. Every breath brings back the pain, the fear and the unbearable knowledge that she’ll never be the once-perfect girl everyone thought her to be. When the self-destructive fog of drugs, alcohol and meaningless sex starts to clear, Dante, a lion shifter sexier than sin itself, emerges through the darkness ready to rescue her for the second time in so many months.

In the safety of Dante’s embrace, Hannah allows herself to become the woman she’s always wanted to be—smart, sexy, capable and empowered. His every touch electrifies. His hot, hungry kisses set her senses ablaze. As Dante masters her body, Hannah finally finds the strength to master her fears.

Perfection shatters as a mysterious vampire escalates from anonymous phone calls to violent encounters. When Hannah’s enemies unite, placing both her and Dante in mortal peril, it’s going to take all of her newfound strength to face the coming darkness and save the man she loves.

A Romantica® paranormal erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

Lucy-Anne Smith | 5 comments Hi I'm Lucy and these are the links to my new book 'Sacred Fear'.

Blurb: Daisy's a young woman who writes books about vampires. She has no idea, though, that she's writing from experience.

She was once the princess of a great vampire clan whose memory was wiped by a powerful wizard. Her body was altered enough that she could live away from her Earth, parallel to ours, where vampires reign and war against each other and humans. She was sent to this Earth to hide her away from her family's ancient enemies, the Scythe Kingdom.

Should she return to her own universe, it would mean the destruction of her family, her clan and her bonded love, Spencer.

When the eldest prince of the Scythe Kingdom murders Daisy's parents, Spencer must lead a rescue party across the dimensional divide to bring her home and bring an end to the war that has raged for millennia. But, the wizard who could restore Daisy to her proper self has gone missing, and Daisy is trapped in her human form and identity--ignorant of who she really is and her true power.

For readers who love the "Twilight, Sookie Stackhouse" and the "Interview with a Vampire" series!

Richard Parise | 9 comments Free! 1/18-1/19 FACEBOOK ZOMBIES
Read posts from The Walking Dead...if you dare.
Goodreads reviews:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

One of the funniest posts I ever saw appeared last year. It told the story of how the Zombie that everyone knows as Creature, was mistakenly laid out on the embalming table at the Quality Care Funeral Home. It seems that the transport crew was fooled by the strong smell of decamp emanating from this vile “Creature.” When Maxwell the Undertaker leaned over to prepare the dead body for its journey through eternity, up popped our Zombie friend in all his raging glory to transport poor Maxwell into the world of the Walking Dead. From that day forward, all funeral homes have shied away from the practice of embalming for the comfort and safety of automated cremation…

Some former chef turned Zombie is trying to sell desserts online. Today he posted a plate of pinky fingers dipped in dark chocolate for $4.99. What a rip off!...

Speaking of buying things online, last month I bought a pair of sunglasses. Now nobody can tell I’m missing my left eye. I was kind of getting paranoid about it. Anyway, it was not like I could just shuffle into a store and pick out a pair. Plus I got free delivery! Plus I got lunch!...

Shari Sakurai (shari_sakurai) | 13 comments Hi everyone, I published my first novel Demon's Blood in January of this year.

Demon's Blood by Shari Sakurai
Immortal blood is precious and Kokawa Taku’s makes him especially unique.

After vampire hunters force them to flee Tokyo, Taku and his lover, Thane, try to make a new life for themselves in England. But three months later Thane is still tormented by nightmares of the fire that almost cost them their lives. This leads to carelessness and the discovery of one of his victims.

When faced with threats from all sides Taku tries his best to protect them although his actions are met with disapproval and anger from Thane. Unknown to his lover, Taku is also struggling to keep hidden the truth of what really happened three months ago.

However, it is only a matter of time before Taku’s past and bloodline catches up with him.

Genevi Engle | 10 comments I know this might be a bad place to start this post but I was hoping to get some advice on starting my next novel. I'm working on my second one which is based on vampires(relevant). I was hoping to get some friendly advice on writing a good vampire novel. The do's and don'ts of it.

message 319: by A.K. (new)

A.K. Michaels (akmicaels) | 16 comments Oh jeez, it would all depend on type of book you want to write. What type of Vampire - hidden that the world knows nothing about? Out in a world and coexisting with humans? Scary, romantic, horror - if you've thought on writing a novel you probably have an idea of what it's about and what way you want it to go in?

message 320: by Genevi (new)

Genevi Engle | 10 comments A world where only a few people are aware of their existence. I'm going more in a direction of a a few in the world experimenting on Vampires and using them to enhance humans. I don't want to go in the romance direction. I would like it to be full of action, gun fights. hand to hand combat. These vampires that are in the story are complete butt kickers. I just want to do something that hasn't really been done with the genre. Which is quite difficult to do, I'm sure.

message 321: by A.K. (last edited Mar 16, 2014 07:42AM) (new)

A.K. Michaels (akmicaels) | 16 comments Yup, all books have their own set of 'difficulties'. I think Vampires in any book are butt kickers tho - they all usually have supernatural speed, strength and can kick some serious butt - otherwise they would just be humans who drank blood. I have to say I would do a search and see if there are any books that are similar to what you have in mind - I can vaguely remember something along those lines in a book I read a while ago and sorry I can't remember what one - though maybe someone here might. Think it had a vamp held in silver chains and they were draining his and other vamps blood to give strength to them (humans) and another I remember were vamps 'changing' children to bleed them and sell their blood to humans for 'benefits' and highs. You can work your own magic with your words and make it unique in your own way - mine do a lot of fighting but also a lot of loving lol - mainly as I'm a romantic at heart with a cold streak - hence the fighting. I don't use outlines or anything like that - I have the ideas in my head and go over and over them then sit down and type. Others prefer the structure of oulines and work that way - all depends on your personal preference. I'm sure you'll find your own way to do it though, we all do. Good luck and keep us updated on your progress. Oh meant to add - am sure there will be others with a lot better advice/input for you Genevi.

My advice would be to do some research into the genre and see what is out there already which is similar to the kind of book you will be writing. For my vampire novel I also did research into different kinds of vampires. I did this to help me decide which parts of the vampire myth and 'rules' to apply to mine and any weaknesses/limitations.

I hope this helps and do keep us updated on your progress!

Andrea Cooper (andrearcooper) | 7 comments Genevi,
I've heard the market & publishers are looking for a twist on the vampire novel. Figure out something unique to bring to the characters or story. For my novel I blended an Elvin w/ a vampire and thought how would this dark gift manifest differently in a nonhuman & a creature of light & magic.

I would like to keep within the rules. That is important, but also staying original. Not entering the boundaries of what other authors have done before. I'm definitely doing my research.

Really? That just motivates me even more to be as creative and as original as possible when creating this story. By the way, I'm calling it "Bloodline" for now but I might end up changing it.

message 329: by Aidan (new)

Aidan Ladsow (nadiawald) | 1 comments Hi everyone,

I'am a new indie author and just released my paranormal romance novella GUILDHALL GUARDIAN. It's modern England with a serious vampire/supernatural underworld:

Guildhall Guardian Thamesian #1 (Thamesians) by Aidan Ladsow

Here's the blurb:
SHE HAS JUST FOUND THE ADVENTURE SHE CRAVED FOR

Italian Art Graduate Gioia Di Terzi has left Rome for England, upsetting all her plans of a future as a Museum administrator. Now working as a civil servant, she settles into a British working-class routine which comes nowhere close to her dreams of English Gothic tales.
That's before she discovers the Medieval Quarter of the city and steps into its Guildhall, a building which instantaneously fascinates her.
Little does she know she just crossed the supernatural underworld's threshold...

AFTER CENTURIES AS A GUARDIAN HE MUST COME OUT AND FIGHT

In 1430,Roydon Thamesian's pact with Vampires saved his life and made him the powerful Guildhall's guardian.
Ruling the Medieval Quarter, he doesn't know humanity anymore.
Until Gioia Di Terzi stumbles into his life and he becomes the target of unmistakable attacks from a Hunter...

Thanks for your support to Indie writers and the opportunity for self-promotion!

The book is FREE until tomorrow by the way.

Many regards.

My vampires are romancy vampires, but they are as different as you can get from "standard" vampires while still being recognizable. :) This takes several books to be revealed fully, but there's plenty you can do that's different. Just taking a "this has to be real, not magic" angle helps a lot.

I just finished the last book of my trilogy - Land of Enchantment. My witches are Southwestern witches with magic unique to the region. The series is available as a complete boxed set, individual books, or the first 2 in the series together.

The first 2 books have won awards.
