Hello everyone, I'm Shelver. I run Bookshelvers Anonymous, a blog that's ostensibly about my work at a national bookstore chain. http://shelversanon.blogspot.com

I talk about work (and our love/hate relationship with customers), but I also throw in general book news (my last two such posts were an announcement regarding Patricia Polacco's new book and a defense of Mockingjay's ending) and review one book a week. For the reviews, I tend to focus on YA books, because that's what I like to read.

Anyways, I'm fairly new to this blogging thing, and while I love my blog dearly, it sometimes feels like a rattly old house - way too much room for little old me - so I'd welcome the company.

I read a variety of books (except horror, paranormal and mushy romance). I stumbled into book reviews accidentally as a few authors reached out to get their book reviewed, earlier I only blogged about books I had read or won as giveaways.
While I am a columnist with a financial paper in addition to a part time consultancy job, someday I hope to write a book - so yeah, I am a wannabe author. 8-)

I live in Savannah, GA and my husband is in the Army and gone often, so I'm left with lots of time to read!
I had started a blog long ago and let it sort of fizzle out but with all the alone time, I'm working on getting it back up and running!
