I read The Invisible Bridge by Julia Orringer. ***Julie Orringer (Author) is a Goodreads author.

CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!!!

One of the main characters, Eli Polaner, is a gay, Jewish, Hungarian man in 1937-42 in Hungary and Paris. He is abused at architectural school when he is outed (by a self-hating gay man with whom he has had a relationship). He enlists in the French Foreign Legion when the Nazis occupy Paris. After being shipped to a labor camp and witnessing one of the first reported mass killings of Jews in Hungary, he is able, after much abuse from Nazis and great kindness from one, to return to his homeland and his friends. He and his surviving friends and their families make their way to America after the war.

Got my spreadsheet ready to go. I can't believe how revved I get about a new SRC being posted. I read all the time anyway, but it is just so much fun seeing how books I am planning on reading anyway can be slotted into a task.

AND I appreciate our moderators be willing to devote another season to the SRC. Lots of work and dedication on their end I'm sure.

I am with you. I read all the time but there is just something great about finding that one special book to fit the task. Its quite fullfilling. I think it also helps me to choose next to read and I am a spreadsheet NUT!!!! any reason to do a spreadsheet makes me happy.
