I think Bandit would answer that question "yes".
I would say, in reality, no. At least to the "coursing part". Your body stops circulating blood when you die. You still have blood in your body, but it's got nowhere to go. But on TV, spurting blood looks cool!
I agree, blood can't course through a body that's been dead as long as those zombies have, but leaking blood doesn't have the same effect as spurting blood.
In real life the blood would be congealed, IMHO.I loved the zombie stampede scene in the season opener, but I thought the rest of the story was slow.
If you expect zombie attacks from The Walking Dead all the time, you will be disappointed. Even some of the graphic novels appear to have little happen in them but are building characters.
I read an article this morning in Big Hollywood about how stupid the non-zombie characters are in TWD.
I don't think they're any more stupid than any other non-zombie characters in any other zombie movie. I think people say that whenever characters don't have the information about zombies that the viewer has.
No, these characters do some ridiculously stupid things i.e. wandering around the woods by themselves, going anywhere without a weapon, wandering through a maze of broken down cars filled with dead bodies by themselves and letting their kids wander far from them. I'm a parent and I don't let my kids get more than arms length from me in a grocery store let alone in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. I would be a paranoid wreck in those circumstances. Growing up in Philly was bad enough. The actions of these characters are just absurd and almost ruin the show for me.
I don't think the characters in Walking Dead are any more stupid or absurd the books I read. If they always did the smart or logical thing, there wouldn't be a show/book/whatever.
It's not that they don't always do the smart or logical thing. They NEVER do the smart or logical thing. It isn't like most horror novels where there's one or two idiots who everyone warns, but they don't listen. No one on this show seems to see anything wrong with wandering alone through zombie infested woods or letting their kids explore cars in which zombies might be lurking. That's much worse than the average horror movie or book where it's just one or two idiots. It strains my suspension of disbelief to try to swallow that everyone in the group is just an idiot with no natural survival instincts.

Fresh zombies may have blood still , old zombies are dried up.
That is, we are talking about zombie circulation and all, so take that at face value. That blood-squirting zomibe was moving fast also, so he must have been rather fresh.
Fresh versus unfresh zombies; my kind of thread. I really do like this series, as well as the other AMC offerings like 'The Killing.' I think we get to see a lot more character building, as far as who is who?? How did they live before, how did they meet up, etc. Besides, I think newer zombies will be quite fresh as well. :) IMHO

Hi all! This is one of my favorite shows also and I'm very much looking forward to its return in February. Re questions like "blood-filled vs empty veins:" have you seen the "talk show" that follows it, "Talking Dead?" I'm terrible at remembering names, but they've had the author of the books on and some of the producers and actors and, best of all, you can call in (or Facebook or Tweet) questions and they will answer them on the air. Alice Cooper phoned in w/a question last week.
I admit that walking dead is one ofmy guilty pleasures. I don't mind the illogical actions or story lines because to me it is a fictonal offering and requires a suspension of disbelief to enjoy. If i wanted reality then I could watch one of those reality t.v. shows instead....lololol
Question: Am I the only one who didn't know the little girl Sophia was in the barn??? I just never would have thought it, since there were so many clues that she may still be alive. I hate that they took so much time on those kids, instead of telling us how this all happened, but I love it anyway....and how crazy is Shane gonna get?? Rick knows that he slept with his wife; among other things. Shane should have left and she should have told him to go.
@ Lisa, I just can't stay up that late for T.V.; now if it was a book, i could do it.!!
It never occured to me that Sophia was in the barn until the slaughter of the other ones was done and you saw the angle from inside the barn. It was a "OMG!" moment and a brilliant point at which to end this half of the season.I think we are going to see the group split in the next episode. With some leaving with Shane, others staying on the farm. No spoilers, but it would be more in the direction of the comic.
I LOLed at your comment, Dana. The zombie was moving fast so must have been fresh. Hahaha love it. I love this show too. I am a big time zombie fan. I wish we had a zombie apocalypse. I found season one to be much more exciting and engaging though for some reason. I will continue to watch though.

I think Darryl & Carol might help each other heal emotionally. Not sure which group they might join, come the inevitable split. Possibly with Shane, as the farm would have too many bad memories.Plus I think we all know that Meryl will eventually show up, possibly with his own group of nasty followers.
The actor who plays Darryl was on an episode of "Talking Dead," and he hinted strongly that there "might" be conflict between the brothers, because Darryl has come to care about this group of people, and Meryl will be his full-of-hate, antisocial self.
That was the only relevant episode of "Talking Dead" all season, IMO. If they bring it back in February, I really hope more people from the show or even people who are interested in zombies come on, these comedians are annoying.

I'm sure there are horror writers and comicbook artists who would love the exposure the show would give, plus might have something interesting to brng to the conversation.
Also, while there might be scheduling problems getting the main actors from WD during shooting, it might be fun to get some folks who appeared for even a single episode, even some of the zombie extras.
Heck, I think getting a panel of fans of the show & comic drawn from various online forums would be pretty entertaining. :-)
I'd love to see people like Max Brooks and Jonathan Maberry, those that were used for the History Channel's zombie special. Take the genre seriously.
LOVE the comic, enjoyed the first season, was VERY disaapointed with the first half of the second season. In fact, I am pretty sure I am done with the show now. It has nothing to do with my love of the book, other than the book gives us characters we as the readers love. The TV show gives us characters that if I was stuck with, I would go find me some zombies.
Sorry to hear you won't be sticking around for the rest of the season, Carl. I'm still enjoying the show, but I do know a couple of other folks who feel as you do. Unfortunately, I think the stay on the farm, just like the episodes last season at the CDC, sort of dragged. It's like they are padding something that might work for a single episode in to two, etc.
Yeah, the first season was much more intense than the second, and probably the fact that the studio fired Frank Darabont has something to do with that (I'm guessing). I'm hoping that since the source material is as good as I think it must be, the show is bound to improve. In any event, I'll stick with it for the duration; gotta mad crush on Shane.

I was scared that the show would completely derail from the comic after Frank Darabont. I believe he has a commitment to faithful adaptations. Then again, he was fired during season 2 and his name was currently still in the credits so I don't know when to start looking for his absence.

Again, I am not out for them to recreate the books, far from it. I just want to like the characters.
No, the TV show characters are nothing like the book. Dale is not that much of an annoying twit. Rick is much more assured and powerful than his show version, Herschel was likable in the book, Andrea is great in the books, annoying as Hell in the show. Shane is . . . uhhhhh . . . wellllllll . . . pretty much nowhere in the books.
I might jump on board again if the pregnancy goes as it did in the books. :O)

Do zombies have blood coursing through the veins?
