Darlin' I love ya, but give me Park Avenue...

Haha! Just had to, Pamela! How did you end up rounding up piggies?

Pamela, did you really have to round up pigs? I definitely want to hear that story.

Gwen, same here, except add that I love cold weather. I prefer being cold to being hot anyway. I can always get warm. Harder to cool off.

I totally agree about the cold weather. It's gotten so I dread the Summers.

The summers have gotten horrible here in Texas. I get so glad when October rolls around and the weather starts cooling off.

You know, to me hot is hot. I hate sweating when it's hot. I don't mind sweating so much in an ice cold gym though! LOL.

Lorraine Versini (lorraineversini) Hey guys ! Was wondering if anybody would mind if I befriended them on goodreads... It's much easier to find your reviews when I check out a book :)

There's a limit? That's crazy! I'd start purging, Lady D! You know you've probably got friends that haven't been on GR in months! Lorraine, I sent you an invite!

I hated having to do it, but I did delete some people who hadn't been on Goodreads for a year. I think we should be able to have an unlimited amount of friends and I even emailed GRs about it.

Sorry about that, Lorraine.

So what do you have planned this weekend? I am hoping to finish a couple more books and enjoy not being in an awful book slump anymore! I am feeling extra woozy today, so I'm thinking I better take it easy.

Pig update...

Sorry computer still messing up and didn't see the new entries on here. Yes, I ran after the piggies. We have them in the old chicken yard but they got out into my fenced backyard. Now our yard is wrecked. They rooted all over and its a mess. I finally got them back in with dogfood. They like it. They don't like the pig food we got for them. Picky eaters. Anyway they got out 3 times that day. Hubby has since fixed the problem and hopefully they won't be getting out anymore.

Aww, you got pigs!! I guess the idea that they eat anything is wrong, huh? We have goats, and they're basically our garbage disposals.

Oh, yes, those pigs are pigs! They will eat that pig food when there is nothing else but they won't come running for it. They are not tempted by it. lol. We have three of the lil buggers. Still too small to cook but soon......

We had goats before. I loved the little pygmy goats we had. They were so cute.

Oh I love goats. I would like to raise them some day, not to eat, but for hair and for milk, and to rent out to others who need some help clearing land! :)

Baby pigs are really cute.

Same here, Lady D. I have no desire to eat a goat. Hubby has wanted to raised meat goats but I don't. Pygmys are so much cuter and fun to watch play. I hear goat milk is better for you but I haven't had any.

Have you looked at a goat's eyes? They're creepy looking. THey look like the debil's eyes. But they're really sweet, at least the females. The males get a bit aggressive when they get older.

Maybe... It's weird because there's power going through it but neither the stove top or the oven are heating up

message 189: by Duchess Nicole (new)

Duchess Nicole | 154 comments That's weird, then. I would think (in my completely inexpert opinion) that it's probably not a total waste, then...maybe a wiring issue somewhere? Usually, its the heating element that goes out in the stove. I can't imagine that both the oven and stovetop would go out at the same time. That's just WRONG!!! Maybe you could cut the turkey up and fry it, if you have an electric skillet?

You could do like the Hawaiians and bury it in coals.

Bwahah! That sound like something my family would try and fail miserably at...we'd be picking dirt and junk out of our turkey, or burning the crap out of ourselves trying to retrieve it... I'm picturing it in my head, and it's not pretty.

Maybe roast it over a spit...

That would work too.... lol I think the Hawaiians wrap their food in some kind of large leaves of some sort.

I actually don't like goat cheese, but I need a profitable reason to raise goats. I talked to a client recently who makes Mozzarella from goat's milk. Maybe that's worth a try...
