Starr (Starr126) | 1 comments Hey I am Starr, newly joined this site but used to visit this place before starting any new book to read the reviews. I have joined this site so I can share my views about my favorite books and have discussions on the same, I think it will be fun. But just trying to figure out this place for now.
I usually read only romantic books, mainly historical and contemporary but sometimes YA too.

Hi Angela, If you're interested in a YA novel that's romantic AND makes you laugh, go to Amazon and pick up a copy of First Taste of Love. :)

message 409: by Cassie (new)

Cassie Hi! My name is Cassandra. I LOVE to read! I mostly read YA because I can read them faster than say Shakespeare or Charles Dickens which are 2 of my faves. I just finished the Hunger Games and am ravenous for the next one. My husband has read Inheritance, but it's been soo long I will need to read at least Eldest again before I tackle that. Let's see, some of my faves are J.K Rowling, Brandon Mull, Elizabeth George Speare, Gail Carson Levine, Rick Riordan, Jonathan Stroud, Christopher Paolini and many, many others. I am currently reading 13 Treasures by Michelle Harrison and Anne of Green Gables again for the 5th time. I love many different genres and am very interested in reading James Patterson's YA series.

message 442: by Phil (Theophilus) (new)

Phil (Theophilus) (prattleonboyo) Hi All - I'm a blogger who reads a lot of Y/A fiction and have a quick question hopefully someone will be able to answer.

What was the title of the book about 4 english children who run away one summer to start their own little tribe?

I can't remember any of the names of the characters, just that the book was fairly controversial because it involved pre-teens running away and not listening to adults. There was also some sex and violence, as well. If anyone has a clue as to title or author, pls let me know. Thx in advance.

PF

I read whatever strikes my fancy at that particular moment. Mostly YA, regency/historical romance, and contemporary romance. I am known to read an occassional self-help book just to keep the old ticker sharp and healthy ;-D I love book reccomendations so if you have some for me they are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Sadeem (saddy_blue) | 4 comments Hi everyone, my name is Sadeem, I'm 26. Recently I've been reading more YA than I usually do. It's almost like I never knew how much I liked the genre. I have a 13 year-old niece and I am hoping I could get the chance to bond with her over books the way we boned over music. I am very interested in fantasy, but I also read a lot of other types.

message 447: by Heather (new)

Heather | 2 comments Hi, my name is Heather and I simply love YA books! They are so well-written and can be so much more imaginative than "adult" books. I just finished reading Clockwork Prince last night and really hope that Clockwork Princess comes out in November of this year rather than March of next year! Some other books I have loved are Divergent, Enclave, The Hunger Games, Life as We Knew It, The Demon Covenant, The Iron King, and the list goes on and on!

message 450: by Dominic (new)

Dominic Green (dominicgreen) | 4 comments Hi guys - my name is Dominic, and I write stuff. What I normally write is adult SF, and I've had some success with it (Hugo nomination, work in anthologies including The Year's Best Science Fiction: Twenty-Sixth Annual Collection, etc.), but I'm trying to achieve some success with YA SF, and to do it by circumventing the traditional large publishers and literary agencies. My other hobbies include trying to get cats to understand simple English phrases such as 'STOP CLAWING THE FURNITURE! HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO CLAW THE FURNITURE?'.
