It is a good one for sure! I've really enjoyed it. So many great quotes in this one.

message 402: by Teri (new)

Teri Woolley Agreed! I love the relationship between Dallas and Peabody.

Me too and they have their first serious "tiff" in this one with both of them deeply hurt by it.

message 404: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Up to Divided, a bit slow but getting there.

message 405: by Vania (new)

Vania (vaniasofia) Just finished Kindred in Death. Next week reading marathon so I hope to read at least 2 more.

Wow, Vania...you're moving on through them!

Lisa, you're doing great too!

Lynne | 429 comments I'm just finishing Interlude in Death. I see why I need to read in order (character development etc.). Lots going on around the holidays

I agree! (now that I know HEA means happily ever after - doh)

message 411: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
Yes, Lynne...I've got to have my HEA!! I'm not a fan of books that end on big cliffhangers. I love series but want a "ending" and HEA to each book within the series. That's not asking too much, is it?! lol

message 412: by Randi (new)

Randi | 93 comments I just finished Glory In Death, and can't wait to read the next book, Immortal In Death. So far I'm borrowing the books from the library for my Kindle, but I see if the wait is too long for the next in the series, I'll just have to buy the book!

message 413: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
Great, Randi! Immortal is a big one in this series! Can't wait to see what you think by the end! I loved it - of course, I love them all! :)

message 414: by Jenni (new)

Jenni Walsh (jennilwalsh) | 3 comments Hey all!

I wrapped up Celebrity in Death yesterday, and just started Delusions in Death.

Random question: Do either of these books seem a little non-JD Robb to anyone else?

Celebrity in Death seemed to lack the um... degree of erotic content that some of the other books included, and also the element of action wasn't as intense.

I'm still on Chapter 1 of Delusions, but the writing just seemed different. Enough that I had to put the kindle down mid chapter and ask around.

Am I alone here? I'm gonna keep reading bc I'm a HUGE fan of In Death, but I hope the series isn't going south :/

message 415: by Susan (new)

Susan I have heard some others questioning if maybe she has a ghost writer or lost interest, as they have noticed a difference as well...

message 416: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
While some may question the freshness of the recent books in the series, Nora's ethical behavior has never been a question, at least for me. Having a ghostwriter would cross a line I cannot believe she would ever cross. Criticize her writing but I'd tread carefully in maligning her integrity.

message 417: by Susan (new)

Susan Just reporting what I have read. I am personally still in love with the series.

message 418: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
I guess, for me, it boils down to the simple fact...why in the world would she need to do that?? I mean - she's done it all...all she has to do is quit writing if she has lost interest. Why would she need to do something like that?? The answer is - she doesn't...she doesn't need to do anything or prove anything to anyone...the lady has done it all and is successful on so many levels. I guess I'm more surprised by the fact that she has been able to keep this series so fresh, exciting, enticing, and enjoyable for so long. I hope she continues it a great deal longer.

message 419: by Susan (new)

Susan Agreed. I am nowhere ready to give Roarke up.

message 420: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
Give up Roarke?!? Never!!

message 421: by Jenni (new)

Jenni Walsh (jennilwalsh) | 3 comments I don't want to give up Roarke either. I hope the series continues. I've just had a few eyebrow-rising moments.

For example, In Delusions in Death, I've noticed some lazy POV writing--where we'll be inside Eve's head one second than Roarke's another (within the same chapter). Normally JD Robb is really good about keeping POVs focused on one character within the same chapter. I'm trying not to focus on it, but it's distracting me from the story. Sad.

message 422: by Vicki (new)

Vicki | 47 comments I read several books in the series before I discovered audio books. I have through Thankless in audio now and listen to all of them often. Can't wait till Concealed comes out in Feb.

message 423: by Susan (new)

Susan I just now finished Calculated.

message 424: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
How did you like it, Susan?

message 425: by Susan (new)

Susan I really enjoyed it. No one does the witty banter conversations like Robb. And Roarke is still "it"!!

message 426: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
The humorous banter is one of my favorite parts of these books...between Roarke & Eve, Eve & Peabody, just everyone...the subtle humor is priceless in this series. I think Robb is a master at it.

message 427: by Susan (new)

Susan Definitely. Not many authors have me chuckling throughout an entire book.

message 428: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
Yea...and it's so subtle sometimes...or wry. And at some of the oddest times.

message 429: by Susan (new)

Susan I definitely enjoy the Eve/Peabody banter as much as the Eve/Roarke banter.

message 430: by Randi (new)

Randi | 93 comments I just finished reading Immortal In Death and all I can say is WOW WOW WOW! This third book has some great exposition. I'm taking a break and reading Night Film, then I will go into book 4, Rapture In Death.

message 431: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Hoover (sandrahoover) | 11212 comments Mod
Yay Randi!! Immortal will always be special to me...just love it! Taking a break is a good idea and then coming back...helps keep the books from getting mixed up in your head which can happen reading so many in a row.

message 432: by Teri (new)

Teri Woolley I finished Conspiracy in Death and loved it. There were some parts that were tough to read but it just added that much more to the story.

I've just started Loyalty in Death and read it on the plane. I'm about 1/2 way through and really enjoying it. I also have Witness in Death from Audible and can't wait to start it. I love Susan as the narrator. I think she does a wonderful job.

Teri, you are going through these really fast! Good for you! The BR will move on to Loyalty soon. Don't forget to stop back in to discuss them with us even though you're leaving us behind! lol

Denise ~The Procrastinating Book Diva~ (procrastinating_bookdiva) | 15 comments Finishing up Indulgence in Death (In Death, #31) by J.D. Robb . I started the series a few years ago on audiobook and never looked back :) They are so good I've tried not to read more than 4 a year so I'll never have to wait for a release. Of course this is getting harder to do!!

I was thinking of buying the audiobook collections from Amazon so I don't have to borrow them from the library and can listen to them whenever I want. Wondering if their worth the money - does anyone have them?

message 436: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
Denise, if you download the audiobooks to Overdrive and transfer them to iTunes (MP3 format) or to an iPod, iPad or iPhone, they never expire.

message 437: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments I have all of them and love them! However, I tend to be in the minority on that opinion.

Thanks Jonetta, I didn't know that!! Unfortunately, my local library system does not have the entire series but they have enough to make a serious dent in the cost of buying the ones i really want.

message 439: by Teri (new)

Teri Woolley Denise if Susan Ericksen is the narrator then they're worth the money. I have 7 books from Audible & I love them.

Absolutely Teri....her narration is the reason I fell in love with the series and the reason all other audiobooks, no matter how good, always fall short ;)

While I do love some more than others, I'll take a mediocre JD Robb over many of the popular books out right now.

message 442: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 3250 comments I agree Denise, and I love Susan Ericksen narrating them.

Immortal In Death was a favorite for me. In a way, the ending is the beginning for me as it's such a turning point for these characters. Loved it!

message 449: by Carol (new)

Carol Burnside (carol_burnside) Hello ID fans. I'm a fan too. So much so that I cannot catch up to the last one. I need to know there's more Eve and Roarke out there waiting for me. So, after glutting on them when I first discovered J.D. Robb, I now limit myself to 2 books a year. Since Nora/Robb releases that many each year, I'll stay a little behind until she ends the series. It makes me sad to even think about that possibility.

Next up for me is New York to Dallas.

message 450: by Jonetta (new)

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15057 comments Mod
Hey, according to Nora, she has NO plans of ending the series anytime soon. You should be in great shape.
