Tonight is the 2010 Wolf Moon.  The Farmer's Almanac explanation of the Wolf Moon is as follows: January amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, the name for January's full Moon. Sometimes it was also referred to as the Old Moon, or the Moon After Yule. Some called it the Full Snow Moon, but most tribes applied that name to the next Moon.
Hmmm....I wouldn't mind seeing this Wolf or the Wolf Pack in the sky tonight!
   

The Dreamers, Snagged by Lisa Falzon.

In floating about disembodied, over forests and glens of Dream, some dreamers get snagged on the trees of nightmare forest.

I just had to gloat a bit and let you all know that I've just won the Demonica series books by Larissa Ione (Pleasure Unbound,Desire Unchained,Passion Unleashed,Ecstasy Unveiled) from the blog Larissa's Life.  Looks like my luck is improving for 2010! Perhaps I should have said yes to that trip to Vegas.

While doing research for my new book 'Shadows of Myth and Legend' I came across a word I was unfamiliar with and thought I would share.

Cryptid (from the greek "κρύπτω" meaning "hide") is a term which is used in cryptozoology to refer to a creature whose existence has been suggested but lacks scientific support. Such entities include Bigfoot, Yeti, and the Loch Ness Monster.

Today I finished writing the poem The Morrigan for Shadows of Myth and Legend.  As a reward I went shopping on Etsy (yes, I'm an Etsy addict!) and happily rediscovered one of my favorite Etsy artists.  I have selected a few pieces here to share which remind me of The Morrigan.  If you like these prints then please visit The Nebulous Kingdom for a journey through the talented eyes of artist Anne-Julie Aubry.  If prints are not your thing then check out her postcards and pocket watches.
