Beautiful UK edition of Assassin's Quest

If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram or Facebook, you've probably seen this already. There is a giveaway for UK readers to win a copy of the anniversary edition of Assassin's Quest.

It's a beautiful book, well bound with quality paper. The interiors are by John Howe, the well known Tolkien artist. He also did the UK covers for the original editions of the Farsee Trilogy.

Yes, the giveaway is only for the UK. That's because the offer is from HarperCollins UK, the publisher for the United Kingdom.

New Look for Website

We've just done a nice update to the website at www.robinhobb.com I'd like to invite you all to drop in and then to let us know what you think of it!

You will also find there information on how to share your fan art with us, for display on the website or Tumblr.

Please do give us some feedback on what you like or dislike about the site. Are we missing something that you'd like to see there?

And yes, I know I look peculiar at the start of the Hebben video. Still do that to me when my mouth is open and my eyes are blinked!

Thanks for dropping by!

UK release day for Fool's Quest!

Book release days are always special to me! The works is finally out there for readers, and it's wonderful to hear back what they think of the tale. Fool's Quest

I have two exceedingly handsome covers for the US and UK editions. I could not be prouder of how they are presented, nor more grateful to all the people who worked to make them so lovely! Here is the US cover.Fool's Quest

In addition to Fool's Quest launching this month, next month will see a special anniversary for me. Assassin's Apprentice will be twenty years old, and HarperVoyager will be issuing a special edition of it in the UK. John Howe, who provided the first cover illustrations for me in the UK, has returned to gloriously decorate this edition.

I don't have a link yet for that edition, but believe me, it is stunning!

Spanish week!

Well, I see my website is glitching and not updating my blog here. My, I do love this digital age we live in! :)

So, if the computer won't do it, I'll do it myself!

Do you speak or/and read Spanish? Do you read Spanish SF/fantasy or write or edit it?

No. Me neither. :( But I'm always in search of a good story and I love discovering new writers and works.

http://www.reddit.com/r/Fantasy/comme...

So this week, over on reddit fantasy, we are celebrating Spanish week and trying to bridge that gap. I hope readers and writers and editors will drop by to join us. I've already learned a great deal and it's only Monday!

And on WEdnesday, I will be doing my very first bi-lingual Ask Me Anything on reddit. Please come and visit!

Originally published at Robin Hobb. You can comment here or there.

Well, I am safely arrived in my London hotel and I’ve even paid back a bit of my sleep debt from this crazy week. I’m now ready for adventure!

For a detailed listing of bookstores that I’ll be visiting click on the appearances tab at the top of my home page to see where I’ll be reading and signing books.

For specific information on where I will be during Loncon3, please visit their page at http://www.loncon3.org/

Here is the quick reference to find me in the UK!

Some of the bookstore events are sold out. If you could not get a ticket, or have to work, you can still get a book personalized to you. Contact the bookstore and pre-order the book, paying for it. Then request the dedication you want in the book. I will sign and personalize the book for you to pick up later. And if you just want a signed book, that’s even easier. I will be leaving signed stock at the bookstores for readers to buy in the following days.

If you could not get tickets to my chat with GRRM at the Freemasons Hall, you can still enjoy

it, live, no matter where you live. BlinkBox Books will be livestreaming it from their Facebook. That’s an important detail. Not their website, their FACEBOOK. Details are here:

That’s all for now!

Launching Fool’s Assassin!!!! Monday, University Book Store

Originally published at Robin Hobb. You can comment here or there.

US cover Fool's Assassin   That is one gorgeous cover!  And before anyone can ask, I will tell you it is by Alejandro Colucci

On Monday, August 4, at 7 PM, well ahead of the official US publication date, I will launch this book from University Book Store in Seattle Washington. 1.800.335.7323 | 4326 University Way, N.E. – Seattle, Washington 98105

This is our plan for that evening. I will do a short reading from The Fool’s Assassin. Then we will have a question and answer period. During that time, you are welcome to enter for our two doorprizes. Just print your name on the back of any University Book Store receipt and put it in the basket. After the Q and A, and before I sign books for people, we will draw two names. The prizes I’ve chosen this time are two baskets of books. One holds three books that I regard as essential reading for any fantasy fan. The other holds three books whose authors’ works I am enjoying now. And maybe a random dragon or two.

I will be happy to sign any books you bring with you, old or new, and even happier to sign books you purchase that night at the store. Please remember that it costs stores time and effort and money to invite authors in, so purchase accordingly, please! If you have more than three books to be signed, the standard courtesy is to circulate back to the end of the line with the ‘more than three’ books and take a second turn. That way everyone gets a chance to have at least three books signed. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you there!

Loncon3!

Originally published at Robin Hobb. You can comment here or there.

Well, Loncon3 is just around the corner! In terms of the calendar, that is. I’ll actually be flying a substantial distance to be there.

And I am both proud and humbled to say that I’ve been invited to be one of the Guests of Honor!

If you’d like to know more about Loncon 3, click Here.
