An army brat born in England and now living in Canada, Ann grew up loving history, but majored in business, with history on the side. She has a husband and two lovely daughters and a Maltese Terrier called Teaser, who likes to sit on a chair beside the computer while she works.

Her love of the past and the stories in her imagination led her to write her first novel in 2000, a never-see-the-light-of-day-effort, and after having her first book published in 2006, she knew she'd found her niche.

She loves the Georgian era, and within that, the period known as the long Regency. She also adores happy endings.

The reasons are varied. Firstly, it was one of the first romances I read in my teens and it left a lasting impression and a love of the Georgian era, including the Regency. Secondly, I have always been a sucker for cross-dressing females and Leon/Leonie does it so well. Thirdly is that quintessential wounded hero in need of reform, the Duke. Sigh. What more could any girl want?
The excellence of the writing swept me away to another world at a time in my life when I was pretty lonely. Perhaps it is this last that makes this couple endure for me. Not only were they characters in a book, I lived their lives with them. They were my friends.(less)

Regency romances were the first ones I read and I was drawn to the romance of a world with lords and ladies, rakes and bluestocking, horses and carriages, balls and long gowns. It is also an era that seems accessible to the modern reader, not so far from today that we can't understand the mores and the society rules. It is also on the cusp of great change, the industrial revolution, so there is lots going on in discovery and science to give a writer ideas for stories.

A WHITE lace dress over a blush coloured satin slip. The dress is disposed round the bottom of the skirt in festoons, which display a little of the slip; each festoon is ornamented with a bouquet of blue-bells, pinks and rose-buds.
