What Is the Point of Life?

Racing through her day with a list of tasks to accomplish was a daily routine. It didn’t seem to matter whether it was the weekend or a workday, both equally required all her time. Sometimes her routine was infused with a laugh here and a smile there, but mostly she just felt there was never enough time to enjoy too much.

With the level of activity that commands our daily lives, rarely are people thinking about esoteric concepts such as the meaning of life, or examining if they are living life ...

Getting Trapped in Predictions

Every day he would read his horoscope before hopping into the shower. It seemed very essential to know what was in store for him before commencing his day. It sometimes calmed the pangs of anxiety he felt, created by not only what was happening in his own life, but also those inspired by the negative local and global news. He wanted to feel a little less powerless.

Is there any basis for predictions of this sort? What about predictions expounded by scientists and mathematicians as to the fate o...

Live-In Relationships

In today’s age, many couples are looking to enjoy intimate time with each other without the added burden or responsibility that a formal commitment like marriage brings. While this sounds like it gives a lot of freedom to couples to change directions or partners if something is not working, it is not clear if that is truly the case. Very often things start out on a fun note, and usually there are many moments filled with charm, spice and romance. Sometimes things take a downturn even when a sma...

Are Time and Space an Illusion?

They were the best of friends and usually got together weekly. On one such occasion, they cooked a fancy meal, which was more like a feast for kings. After enjoying their extravagant dinner, they decided that a walk was needed to help settle their full stomachs. After their walk in the local park, they sat on a bench facing the pond to talk. Their conversation led to descriptions of what each had observed on their walk, and it soon became apparent that, surprisingly to them, each of the three f...

The Mystery of Akash Revealed

Everyday from 9 to 5 she sat in front of her computer completing the rote tasks demanded by her job. She would take an hour break for lunch, but often that hour consisted of only a quick sandwich as she lacked the ambition to make anything else to eat. The weight of her routine life felt hard to bear and draining. Her friends seemed so much luckier in that they landed fulfilling and creative jobs while she drudgingly accepted the only job offer that she received.

More recently computers, iPads, and mobile phones have all added the conveniences of memos, lists, and calendars, making pen and paper almost obsolete.

Does all th...
