A few hours later, Alex drives down the off ramp. “We’re almost there,” he says. He glances over to look at his beautiful esposa. She’s so bella and the dress really is beautiful on her, he thinks, possessively.

Alex stops at the stop light and turns to give her a beso. The light turns green and he proceeds thru the intersection.

Out of nowhere, a car runs the red light and crashes full speed on the right side of Alex’s car. The car is pushed over onto the opposite side of the road. The good thing is that there were no cars on that side. Alex’s car rolls over. The car then stops upside down.

The ambulance attendant pulls Alex out of the car. Alex comes through, dazed.

He immediately looks for Carolina, yelling out her name. “Carolina! Where is Carolina!” yells Alex, in desperation.

The paramedics recognize him and immediately attempt to calm him down. “Dr. De La Cruz, you need to remain calm,” says a Paramedic. They don’t know that Carolina is his esposa.

“Where is my esposa,” he yells out. “I need my esposa.” he looks around frantically, trying to see her.

“Dr. De La Cruz, the young lady in your car has been air lifted to the ER. She received the brunt of the impact and the door caved in. She’s stable but is unconscious,” says the Paramedic.

He takes Alex’s vitals and starts an IV with pain medication. Alex is knocked out instantly.

“Dr. De La Cruz was real frantic about learning the whereabouts of that cute Physician’s Assistant. Did he really call her his wife? He was asking for his esposa and that means wife in Spanish. I heard lots of gossip lately about them,” says one Paramedic to the other.

“I don’t know. I didn’t hear him. I hope that the Physician Assistant makes it. She was really hurt,” says the other Paramedic. He shakes his head as they roll Alex onto the ambulance.

This was an amazing book, fell in love with Alex!! He was caring and was there for Carolina. His only fault is that he didn’t want to share Carolina. Carolina couldn’t have been more perfect, my heart broke for her when her Abuela passed. Alex isn’t sure if he will ever find “love” and is not one to commit. When someone breaks in with the intentions of raping Carolina Alex decides it is time to figure out what his emotions are.

Garret decides through this book that it is time to break down his walls and give in to Laurel if he is going to have a chance at love. Laurel is still facing her demons, especially since Chase has sabotaged her car as well as threatened her life. The twists and turn in the story are enough to keep you reading.

The story has a good plot however because of the many ideas, the story became lengthy and a bit dragging. Some parts may have been omitted since they give the same information so as not to discourage readers to read further. I’m glad the author introduced Ian and Molly because they gave life to the story. These characters are a breath of fresh air since they remove the monotony by making the story funny and light. Overall, the book was good but it could have been better.

This book can be very intense at parts!! Steve and Brick are able to flawlessly control the population of the whole school without question besides Vaughn until Keeley comes along. The stalking got a little creepy a few times but it helped to keep the story line going.

We continue to follow Esmerelda through all the new trials and tribulations she encounters as she tries to battle Nicholas. With Nicholas and Medow able to break into Esmerelda’s dreams and track her, she must find a way to counter Nicholas and take him down quickly. An unsuspected ally appears and the reaping spell is able to be completed! I really liked how the relationship between Esmerelda and Ian continued to grow and develop even as they faced the challenges that they did. While I was upset with what happens to Jarak, I felt that the way it was written was fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for more closure on his character. Our unexpected ally, the death keeper, really threw me at first. While he is out to get what he wants, I love that he is willing to help and has found love as well. All in all, this book kept me engaged the entire time I was reading and I couldn’t put it down. I cannot wait for the third book to come out and see what happens with Julie!

Conklin’s Foundation starts off where book 1 (Conklin’s Blueprints) leaves off and I’m so thankful! Although Blueprints didn’t have a significant cliffhanger, I was pleased with how easily I could settle back in with my friends, Becca and Tyler. Personally, I found this book to be more intense and emotional.

We learn more about RJ, Tyler’s dad and his illegal activities that may jeopardize everything the family has worked for. Nathan has some pretty big secrets that are revealed as well. Tyler is starting to open up about his relationship with Becca, letting his family know he loves her. Becca has started to stand up for herself, growing some spunk and a backbone. She needs it when the creepy Nanny Margo (GAG) comes back and starts to twist Tyler around her finger (or other body parts).
