Jessica’s Review:
4 STARS!!!!

This was my first book by Brooke Page, but it will definitely NOT be my last! I’m so thankful book 2 is out so I don’t have to wait to find out what happens next. This book was a bit of a roller coaster emotionally, but in a good, edge of my seat way. At various times I laughed, swooned, wanted to throw my kindle at the wall and *may* have yelled at certain characters a few times. :)

Becca is fresh out of college, insecure and used to letting people walk all over her. Tyler is strong willed and the silent brother in the Conklin Architect Firm his family started many years ago. Between Becca’s body issues and Tyler learning to be touched, it’s amazing how steamy the chemistry is! When you add in a jealous BFF, controlling parents, work and 2 exes, it’s a recipe for disaster that continues until the very end.

Angels, Falling angels, Demons, Rock Stars and Vampires all are encompassed in this book that is full of mystery. With Avery trying to figure out how to use her powers and if anyone truly finds out who she is they will turn their back on her. Lizzy Ford Book Club Review: Say When by Tara West

18188247 He told me to say when, but I can’t. Not with Andrés. It’s so hard to say anything when he’s trailing feather soft kisses down my neck, or when his touch sends hot currents of lust rippling across my skin.

Then there’s the way he smiles and offers soft words of encouragement when I’m creating art, almost like he believes I have talent.

He’s not like any guy I’ve ever met. Not like my ex-fiancée. Not like my father. He’s got me thinking that maybe we can have something more. More than just lust, degradation, and abuse.

And now I’m scared, because that means I’ll have to trust him with more than just my body, but with my heart, too.

Book Club Reviews:
Tiffany’s Review:

Short steamy read and I definitely want to read more.

This was a fast-paced read that immediately had you wishing Christina would stand up for herself…and she does! I loathe her mother, loathe her ex-fiance, am disgusted by her so-called friend, and cheer for Christina and Andrés.

I don’t know how Christina stomached her fiance, Jackson, to begin with, all because her nasty mother wants her to marry rich, but I found it hysterical that every time they tried to have sex lately, Christina would get physically ill. If that isn’t telling, I don’t know what is! Her drug-addicted slut of a friend, Karri, only loosely deserves the title of “friend.” I think that ship sailed a long time ago and don’t know why Christina continues to keep trying. I suppose it’s because it’s one constant in her life from childhood into adulthood. At the point where Christina meets Andrés, she has ditched her loser but rich fiance, Jack, has gotten into a fight with Karri, and is ready to relax and unwind and celebrate her 21st birthday.

Hot one night stand for Christina…or is it? Seems like there is a strong connection for both her and Andrés and I was pleased that she contacted him again for another meeting. And that leads to a job and the opportunity for some financial independence for her! You feel bad for Christina. She is bullied by her mother, treated like shit by Jack, has an incident in her past that she is still dealing with, and then discovers she is betrayed by someone who should ALWAYS have supported her. She and Andrés both have some obstacles to overcome personally.

A nice, well-paced steamy romance that leads you hanging for book two, SAY YES, due out soon! This is a quick read that you can spend an afternoon reading…perfect for the colder weather coming to warm you up. And with SAY YES coming out soon…I’d pick up both if I were you! Thank you to the author and tour organizer for my read to review copy!

Connie’s Review:

Loved this book. I was hooked from the very beginning. Christina is a woman who has been mistreated all her life. Abused by her father and told what to do by her mother Christina feels it is time to live her life the way she wants. In comes Andres an army Vet just home from war with demons of his own. When these two get together sparks fly. Christina must learn to live her life and wonders if there is room for Andres. Andres wants Christina from the moment he lays eyes on her and will do just about anything to prove to her he is not going anywhere.

I could not put this book down. I went through all the emotional highs and lows with Christina and Andres and once I finished I had to know more. I think this book is a must read.

Ann-Marie’s Review:

I really loved this book! Tara did a great job with the characters. While each of the main characters are very complex, I really felt like I could understand them. The romance between Christina and Andres is hot too!

Amanda’s Review:

This story is about a young woman figuring out what she wants. I feel the author did a great job writing the story line and I wad hooked had to read all the books. I really enjoyed this story. While the story does handle sone tuff subjects the author does a great job dealing with them.

There were some unexpected twist that make you wana slap some of the characters in the book. But you will fall in love with christina and her struggles.

Marilyn’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

I instantly fell in love with Christina and Andres. Christina, coming from a wealthy background, promised to a Jerk in marriage by her mother to keep her accustomed to her lifestyle, she decides to take her life into her own hands on her 21st birthday, and refuses to be treated like an object.

All she wanted was to celebrate and have a drink. With everything going wrong that night, from flipping off her fiance, to getting stranded with her druggie best friend, the one thing that went right was meeting Andre.

Christina’s a good girl, Andre, a beautiful specimen of a latino man, each with secrets and baggage, they feel a connection to each other instantly.

It’s hot, steamy , romantic. What will become of these two?

I loved this story, I cant wait to read what happens in the second book of this 3 book series.

I totally recommend this to any and everyone looking for a romantic sexy read.

Ginelle’s Review:
5 Stars!!!!!

Two people from two different worlds. It’s funny how, in one instant, a world can change some completely. Christina and Andres both have dark pasts, both think that they may not deserve more. But, when they meet each other, they realize that more is what you make it. They are good together and have instant chemistry. But, it’s not just some fling, they are more alike than they realize. He has a strong family, she has the short end of the stick in that department. This was an emotional book with some very hurtful issues. But, the book had my interest from the first until the last. I’m looking forward to reading the others in the series.

Maria’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

I really enjoyed this book so much that I couldn’t put it down till I finished it in practically one sitting. I totally fell in love with Andres’s character, he was truly a genuinely good hearted guy, he was what every girl dreams off having, a sweet, caring, understanding, respectful and loving guy. Although he did have some flaws, his good surpassed the bad. Christina on the other hand was a bit annoying, and at times seemed selfish. I’m glad at the end she stood up for herself and stopped letting others dictate her life. Mostly I’m glad she finally let Andres in, because damn that boy was genuinely hot and so damn amazing. I totally recommend this book, you will not be able to put it down once you start reading it!

Chelsea’s Review:
4 STARS!!!!

** spoiler alert ** Since joining a book club I have been reading more and more books that deal with real life situations. I enjoyed the story because the characters had a lot of behind details and both of them had such a crappy life that when meeting each other really helped them out.

I love a strong female character especially one who has dealt with rape and not just by a stranger but her father. Someone she thought she could trust and love and to deal with that all on our own isn’t right. Her mother is all sorts of crap as well and I love that Christina finally stands up to her and moves out. It was a much needed step for her to move on with her life.

I look forward to reading the next two and seeing where they go. Usually these books end with just the one so it is a nice twist when not everything is resolved into the one book and there are more to be read.

Jessica B’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

I thought this book was great. It sucked me in right from the beginning. I stayed up till 3am just to finish it. :)

Christina is learning to stand up for herself, deal with her past and get rid of people in her life that treat her like crap.

Andres is a sexy Army veteran with his own issues. They have a chance meeting because a friends car breaks down.

I like that the story is told from both Christina and Andres point of view.

Say When is a steamy read and I would definitely recommend it. Go get your copy now.

Michelle’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

Awesome tale about the super hot and sexy Andres and the quirky artsy Christina. This was a great easy read about the development of something more between two damaged people just looking for a good time. I thought Christina was hilarious and I really liked her “new approach” to dealing with the drama in her life especially how she started with Jackson. Andres was so sexy but his story was sad. Karrie and Christina’s mom was just dreadful, but I can’t wait to read more in this series to see how Christina handles them and her Adonis Andres!

Linda’s Review:
3.5 STARS!!!

The book starts with Christina puking her guts out because she can’t stand to have sex with her fiance. Strange right? If the guy I was planning on marrying was making me puke my guts out, do I really want to spend the rest of my life with him? On top of it, he has other character flaws that I despise as well, but the only reason I am staying with him is because of my mother? I think not. Luckily for us, she finally wakes up and it is thankfully at the beginning of the story.

Christina, a former rich girl who breaks her engagement to her rich fiance, then meets Andres, a sexy, hispanic mechanic and it’s lust at first sight. The problem? She is still struggling with a mother who expects her to marry a rich guy and well, she is keeping something from him and vice versa. Good news, Christina quickly realizes what a good thing she has with Andres and proceeds to ignore her mother. The secrets they are both keeping will eventually come to light too, but then the book ends. Really?

I did struggle a little with Christina. She doesn’t have a lot of friends and her closest one is a drug addict, and apparently has no loyalty what so ever to her best friend. The reason she doesn’t have a lot of friends is because of what happened to her when she was a teenager. She doesn’t know what to do about the best friend, until she realizes how she betrayed her. She has this great guy, who shares his secret with her and wants a relationship, even if he doesn’t think he deserves one and she is scared. Not of his secret, but of her own. I struggled with understanding her and why she was the way she was. Her secret is a big one…that I get, but I’m just not sure it shows why she is considered a “pleaser” and why she would even consider a relationship with Jackson, or put up with her mother and Karri.

Overall, the story is a decent one, but aside from really liking Andres I couldn’t say I could relate to this otherwise.

Tammie’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

I really enjoyed reading the start of this love story between Christina and Andres. They both come into the relationship with baggage that they don’t think they can move beyond. As they start to help each other heal they fall in love. I can’t stand Christine parents, unbelievably awful people. The chemistry between Christine and Andres is seriously HOT! Looking forward to the next book, it can only get better!

Review: Claimed (101 Nights, #1) by S.E. Reign

20738550 Tie me. Tease me. Take me.

Love me?

For fans of “50 Shades” and the “Crossfire” series comes “101 Nights,” a SERIAL erotic novella series consisting of short, steamy reads …

I’ve just been named the heir to the throne – if I can prove to my conservative father that I’ve given up my playboy lifestyle and settle down with a respectable woman.

But why earn the love of a woman when I can buy it? Better yet – why not just blackmail the pretty girl who breaks into my penthouse? We both need something. I need a fiancée – preferably one I can control down to what socks she wears – for three months to satisfy my father’s edict.

She needs to save her family from being evicted from the building I plan to knock down to make way for my new upscale mall. Three months as my loving, devoted fiancée in public – and my personal whore in private – is a small price for her to pay to save her family.

What I’m not counting on: how possessive I quickly become of the blue-eyed vixen – and how quickly the press and world not only find out about her but rally behind a real life Cinderella.

Emmanuelle’s Review:
4 STARS!!!!

What would you do to save your family? Natalie breaks into Elijah’s apartment to dish out some dirt on him and gets the tables turned on her when he’s the one that threatens her. Elijah is trying to get his dad off his back for being “irresponsible” as he tries to rise to the top of the business empire. Together, they strike a deal that both feel is in their favor. Natalie quickly discovers that she may have drawn the short straw.

This tale quickly spirals into a hot steamy read, where both Natalie and Elijah are trying to control each other and satisfy themselves. It’s hard to tell where lust and hate begins and ends. This story is a short read that will leave you anticipating grabbing the next book in the series.

Tammie’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

I liked having Natalie and Mac’s story tie into Kate and Neil’s story (The Killer Next Door series) to sync up the timeline of events. Watching Natalie learn to trust Mac, and watching them fall madly in love with each other was both sweet and frustrating. There were times I wanted to smack them both upside the head and tell them to spill their guts to each other. Seeing two hopeless romantics fall madly and completely for each other was refreshingly good. In the end it was obvious that all the time they spent holding back was what allowed them to be 100% committed to each other. I really enjoyed reading the book.

20817293 Trapped on the war-ridden planet of Lemuria, Cyena must hide her true identity if she is to survive. Cyena uncovers their plan and works hard to hone her psychic skills, knowing the same skills that condemned her before the war are all that will save her now.

To complicate matters, Kaydon, her rescuer and the son of the rebellion’s leader, offers her sanctuary. But if she leaves the city with him, she loses any chance of discovering what happened to her sister. If she stays, she risks being killed.

Uncertain who to trust and what to do, Cyena will face untold challenges to find some trace of her sister.

Jessica B’s Review:

This is the second book in the Starwalkers serial, It was an amazing book. In this book we get to learn more about what happened with Cyena. She has to discover what happened to her sister, parents and the rest of the elite while trying to figure out if she can trust Ryker. There is a big surprise near the end of the book. :) If you have not started reading these books you should go get them now.

Linda’s Review:

Well dang it. I’m on the fence and that doesn’t happen often when reading a book by these authors. My struggle is that I think they need to be a little longer to help with setting some precedences…

The book picks up with Cyena living in a village outside the city…she is scared, alone, and adrift not knowing what will eventually happen to her, nor where her family is…if they even survived. She sees Kaydon, but doesn’t know anyone else. She will learn there are other elite survivors hiding out, and will be asked to assist with negotiating a deal. Walking in is easy, getting back out is not. When she learns who else is there, and their plans for her, things go from bad to worse.

I did love the change in her relationship with Kaydon, but think it went rather quickly from uncertainty in how much she can trust him to where it ended. However, once it got there, I was disappointed in her choice to walk away. And for those who have not read this book, loved the twist surrounding Kaydon and his family…I’m slowly loving these rebel boys….

Shaswati’s Review:

Wow!!!

The second in a series of 3 books, Trapped is another winner!!! Starwalker is turning out to be a series to cherish…

Trapped shows the life of Cyena after the rebellion that separated the two sisters struck. The confusion, pain, longing and loneliness that a war usually brings with it is so profound in Cyena’s life. Living with the fear of discovery as an Elite among the working class, Cyena draws little comforts whenever Kaydon is around. Though Cyena believes that the Elite were wrong in treating horribly the peasants but she cant wish to be among the people where she spent all her life.

But when Kaydon convinces her to take up a mission to go back among the Elite and fetch an information, she realizes all over again why the Elite are not where she belongs truly. Her life takes a major turn when circumstantially, she finds herself mated with Kaydon and finds out that neither loathe the situation.

The best thing was the build-up of the attraction between Kaydon and Cyena in the backdrop of the war and the discovery that Ryker is alive and well… Oh yes!!! Ryker is good to go and a prophecy is at play!!!

At the end, the sisters are still separated but events are turning out to be good….

This book yet again will leave you craving for more and make you long for the next… Can’t wait to read Tyana’d part and see the finale unfold…

This series is definitely a keeper!!!

Ann-Marie’s Review:

Wow! I couldn’t put this book down. I loved the development of Cyena and Kaydon’s relationship is fantastic and makes me want to read more. I can’t wait for the third book in this series!

Bonnie’s Review:

This segment of the series is focused primarily to Cyena and her “path” so to speak. Cyena is found by Kaydon, on the destroyed grounds of the only home she has ever known. She is propositioned to help the resistance and is torn between loyalties to her people and whether Kaydon is being honest with her about the world around her.

This book has amazing twists that I did not anticipate in the least. We are introduced to new species of elite that have gifts thought to have died out. As far as I see it this segment in the series is flawless and I cannot wait to read book three. I give this 5 fangs.

Cherrie’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

I love this book! It’s a very interesting sequel to Severed. A book especially made for Cyena and Kaydon. Kaydon was the icing on the cake… a perfect example of CHIVALRY! He is determined but not imposing. The way he treats Cyena was simply heart-warming and that is why I love Kaydon. It may be a bit short but it was packed making this installment very much worth your while. Cyena and Kaydon rock!!!!

Chelsea’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

After the last book I couldn’t wait to read the next. I was glad this one only focused on one sister Cyena because I don’t know if I could have handeled waiting a chapter or more to find out. I like that you find out a little more about the proficie but not fully. I also like you find out more about the characters. Its going to be even more interesting to see what else comes next. And if they will be able to get to earth to the other sister. It was great finding out a character I previously thought had died hadn’t and was really kaydons brother. Kaydon is awesome and loved him even more after this one. I was glad Cyena finally did something other then mop and feel sorry for herself, I kept wanting her to get going and be strong. I know she can be but she wouldn’t and finally did once Kaydon came into the picture. I’m excited to see what happens with Cyenas sister.

Holly’s Review:
5 Stars!!!!!

WOW WOW….. This was one amazing book and I loved every bit of it. There was so many things that shocked the hell out of me like I couldn’t believe two people were brothers I wAs shocked. I cyena is one strong person she has been through so much in this and the last book and she keeps going no mater what and realizes she writes her own fate and can live her own life the way she wants it. I just want to beat the crap out of almost all of the elites. Big cliff hanger btw but this was a really good book but also I want to warn y’all it is a short book so don’t get disappointed. Lizzy ford rocked it

Ginelle’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

I really liked this story. It was short, which I was sad about, but it is part of a serial series so, the next one will come out soon!!!

I liked the better look at Cyena. She’s really a strong person and tries to give her people a second chance. Those same people that had shunned her for her whole life. She does what she knows is right for the betterment of her people even though she knows the consequences may be high.

And, Kaydon??? I can’t get over him. He’s a good man, he saw things in Cyena that her people were blind to. He took a chance with an uncertain outcome to protect Cyena. So strong and compassionate, willing to wait.

There was an added twist (and a bit of happiness after the way the first book ended!!!) when we meet Kaydon’s brother. A lot to look forward to with the next installment!

Amanda’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

This second book in the starwalker series will not disappoint. Wow wow I was blown away that so much was packed in to such a short story. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. This one follows Cyena. You will find your self falling in love with Keydon and still hating Welon. I dont wana give to much away. This book is amazing and a great short read!!

Review: Wolf Spell (Wolf Trilogy) by M.R. Polish

16268911 Flirting with boys and hanging out with her best friend pretty much sums up Esmerelda’s life, but it’s all about to change. At eighteen, the toughest decision she should have to make is whether or not to go to college, not helping her dad pick out a casket for her mother. But, it’s not until wounds heal instantly and flowers bloom in front of her eyes that she begins to question her sanity.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing, could prepare her for being kidnapped and flown out of the country, only to find out her kidnapper is a warlock. Sanity? At this point she is sure either hers or his is gone. Magic isn’t real, it’s in stories and fairy tales parents tell little kids. Or is it? But there’s more, much more… her blood is the secret gift bestowed by five dead witches and there is one warlock who’ll stop at nothing to get it. To end the curse to his power and save herself, she must awaken the witches from their graves. Shouldn’t be hard, right?

With life as Esmerelda knew it officially over, it isn’t until she meets Ian that she starts to feel normal again. He’s all the eye candy plus a Guardian wrapped up in one hot package. But, the feelings she has for him aren’t welcome because they make her forget the danger she’s in. And forgetting could mean her death.

Ann-Marie’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

Arabeth, is an 18 year old, who has moved to an apartment with her best friend, Ailaina, when her mom dies, or so she thinks. While at her mom’s funeral, she runs into Dr. Walsh, her mom’s doctor, who drastically changes her world. After being kidnapped and put onto a plane to Spain, she meets Jerek. He is her guardian and helps her develop the magic that runs in her. On the plane, Arabeth finds out she is a witch and a very powerful one at that and that someone is trying to get her for her powers. We follow her through her many trials and tribulations as she comes to terms with this world of magic and being a very powerful witch.

I really loved how the characters are very down to earth. Arabeth, Jerek, Ailaina and Ian are all great teenagers. I loved to watch how Arabeth grows into the witch she is meant to be. I really liked how some of the characters really left you thinking about what side they were on. Were they going to help Arabeth or were they going to join with Nicholas and try to take her down. I really enjoyed the book and I can’t wait to read the 2nd one!

Review: Given to You (The Killer Next Door, Part 3) by Carlie Sexton

18052651 To give is a virtue. But to give your very self, the ultimate bequest. Offered in love, it can be wondrous. Offered in desperation, it can be deadly.

In Book Two of this three-part epic, young and tempting Kate Simmons at last seemed to have reached a safe haven of happiness when she moved in with Neil, ambitious and persevering, both in his legal practice and his love life. Taking great care to protect his trophy and the surprise he had in mind for Kate, Neil hired security to accompany his soon-to-be fiancée on a scavenger hunt of a lifetime. As Book Three continues their saga, it is life itself that is in the balance when Kate becomes the hunted as the jilted Roger snatches his prey.

The obsessed minds of Neil and Roger now take aim squarely at each other — with a bare and exposed Kate directly in the crossfire. Knowing her very life will be the winner’s spoil, Kate stares agony in its ghastly face as it approaches for the death dance.

There is no time, no place, no safety in a war of fixation. A war in which the winner will be either the last one standing, or the last one to die.

Tammie’s Review:
5 STARS!!!!!

Right from the start I wanted to scream that Roger couldn’t win, he couldn’t kidnap Kate, why did he have to succeed in getting past her security. All the mental and physical trauma he put her through could have broken someone that didn’t think on their feet as well as Kate did. Neil had such good intuition for figuring out how to find them. It was very clear that Roger had the capacity to outmaneuver all the security that had been set up to protect them, even in their own home. The love story between Kate and Neil really was enjoyable to read, their chemistry and how the survive each of the trials they go through together seems to have set a good foundation for how they will handle their marriage. I really thought this book (part 3) was the best written of the series so far. I am definitely going to read Mac and Natalie’s story next.
