Dad update
I'm wiped out--tried to get to bed relatively early (for me) but couldn't sleep worrying about the rehab center (till I saw it) and about how dad was progressing. Finally fell asleep around 2:30 am and then at 5am some asshole buzzed my apt on the downstairs buzzer. I ignored it but then it buzzed again. This time I got up and asked who the eff is it? No response. Went back to bed. For the next 45 minutes these same assholes --I'll never forgive whoever did buzz them in--pounded on the door next

Back from LA and family issues
Got back late Tuesday night. Had a great time overall.
But Friday morning I heard from my sister that my dad had a small stroke and was in the hospital. No paralysis, but aphasic, which means he can understand everything and can say about three words before they devolve into gibberish. He can count at least to 10.
I visited for the day yesterday --he's in a hospital very close to where they live in Yonkers. He's about ready to be released to a short term rehab center and we're trying to find one

Off to LA/Burbank and the Stokers tomorrow
If the weather doesn't intervene, I should make it to LAX around 2pm. However, the weather report's looking pretty grim--if we don't make the 11 am departure, thunderstorms start and that'll really screw it all up.
Mass autographing at Dark Delicacies tomorrow evening and then I'll be staying with friends Thursday night. Friday I'll jump into the thick of things when I get a lift to the hotel for the weekend festivities. I don't know how much I'll be online--depends on what's available at the fr
