Rare book auction begins tomorrow to benefit the Shirley Jackson Awards

Boston, MA (April 2009) -- The Shirley Jackson Awards will hold an online auction of a rare book to benefit the award. Peter Schneider has kindly donated a first edition of the 1899 publication of The Alleged Haunting of B----- House. Persons may bid on this item from Tuesday, April 21 through midnight on Thursday, April 30, 2009.

The Alleged Haunting of B----- House is edited by A. Goodrich-Freer and John, Marquess of Bute. While not a copy owned by Jackson, this important book in early psychica

Photos of my workspace by Kyle Cassidy

Philadelphia photographer Kyle Cassidy is in the middle of a project to document genre writers' and editors' workspaces. He and his friend/helper Colin came by yesterday to photograph mine. Believe it or not I cleaned up the space a bit before they arrived. Anyway, it was fun and I talked about how I feel about the space and how almost everything I need to work is within reach. Afterward, they took me to the Art Bar (I'd never been there, even though it's across the street) where they proceeded
