Are Faerie trees different from worldly trees?

(Photo above is of Zardoa of The Silver Elves giving an elven blessing to this beautiful Faerie Oak!)
Are Faerie trees different from worldly trees? Well, yes and no, of course. All trees have consciousness but yes, Faerie trees have a more magical consciousness; and yet all trees are really apart of Faerie so, no, they are all the same except, of course, for their individual differences, perspectives and personalities.
It is true that trees that are in the world of mankind are often quite lonely for they have less dryads and tree nymphs and tree sprites to attend them. And having to struggle with the pollution and poisons of the world of mankind and the just plain indifference for the most part of the normal folk, can make life difficult for them. And the normal folk, for their part, are of the opinion that the trees exist solely for them and have no individual consciousness, intelligence nor any importance if they are not giving them shade or something to look at or whatever.
In the deeper woods, out in Nature, one gets closer to Faerie, of course, and there the trees are not essentially different but they do have a different experience of the world. They are less bothered by mankind, almost never bothered by the normal folk, and are often surrounded by their own kind and we elfae that tend to live with and among them. They take on the astral glow of the Faerie world that occurs when beings who love each other are together and radiate their happiness into their environment. They are different from the trees of the world but circumstantially so, not intrinsically so.
We elfae who are manifest in the world in humanoid bodies, experience the same sort of difficulties as our cousins the trees. We are few and far between and there is a certain loss one feels when one doesn’t have the camaraderie of one’s kindred. Being together gives us an increased sense of power and magic and Elfin and Faerie become manifest around us. Elves and elfae together, united in our love for each other, are like the deep rain forest trees. There is mist and magic all around us.
Are the elfae who live more fully in the Faerie realms different than we who live in a world surrounded by men and the normal folk? Well, yes and no, the same as the trees. We are still elves but as we Silver Elves say, “Together our magic is stronger by far.” So, necessarily, when we are in Faerie and we are together our magic is more powerful and our sense of safety and wellbeing is heightened. We have each other. We expect that our tree cousins feel much the same. Our togetherness and communion, our community of Elfin and Faerie alters the vibration that we experience and are able to manifest.
But there is no essential difference. There are no trees that are Faerie trees as opposed to trees that aren’t Faerie trees, any more than there are elves who are Faerie and Elfin elves as opposed to those who aren’t Faerie and Elfin elves. We are all elves. It is just that some of us are facing different experiences. The same is the case with trees.
And the same is true of men, if it comes down to it. If a person is from England, say, and they are thus English and they go to some place far away, perhaps where they are surrounded by danger, possibly by war, that doesn’t make them less English. In some ways, it may actually accentuate their Englishness.
So, it is that we elfae folk and our tree cousins who manifest in this world polluted by mankind and the normals, are not less elfin. In fact, our elvishness becomes even more pronounced and noticeable. Among our own, we are elfae but pay little attention to that fact save in contrast to mankind and their folk. We are different in contrast to the normal folk, but in Elfin it is quite normal to be different and eccentric. And this is the case, too, for the trees.

Here below are a few terms that we Silver Elves use in speaking of our Faerie realm kindred – the trees. We hope you enjoy these excerpts from our newest book titled Elven Urban Dictionary: Elfin Colloquial Expressions and Terms of The Silver Elves. The elven terms are first presented in English, followed by the Arvyndase word (the magical language of The Silver Elves) and its meaning. For more please do enjoy reading this book found on all Amazon international sites.
“Appletreefae”
[And in Arvyndase the language of The Silver Elves it is] “Jufialdåfarth” (pronounced: ju – fie – ale – dah – fair-th) Plural: the singular is also the plural in this instance
“The Appletreefae are dryads that live in relationship to the apple trees. They are significant because they are also very much associated with the ancient Druids and, in particular, with Merlin the elven magician. You will also find mistletoe growing upon their branches at times, and mistletoe is also commonly associated with the Druids. Merlin was rumored in some tales to have an apple grove that he took around with him, which links him to the legend of Johnny Appleseed who planted apple trees all over North America. These dryads are generous folk and have and continue to offer the fruit of their trees to all who desire them.”
“Treehopper”
Aldåtorus (pronounced: ale – dah – tour – ruse) Plural: Aldåtorusli (ale – dah – tour – ruse – lie)
“Treehoppers are a type of elves that are basically migratory in nature and wander endlessly. They get their name from the fact that they have tarps and hammocks that they stretch between tree branches for resting and sleeping. They almost never sleep in the same tree or group of trees twice. Or at least not on consecutive nights. Although, they may return at a future date. They love to travel in the day looking for various plants, herbs, berries, etc. throughout the forest as they journey around. And, like most elfae folk, they also collect interesting sticks, feathers, stones and other things that they deem beautiful or useful as they travel along.”
“Treeimp”
Aldåymp (pronounced: ale – dah – imp) Plural: Aldåympli (ale – dah – imp – lie)
“Treeimps live in trees and are a mischievous bunch, especially when they are young. They love to drop things and throw things at people who pass under their trees. They drop branches, seeds, pinecones, acorns, apples, nearly anything that they can get their hands on that they can pluck off easily and sometimes, failing that, they will shake the tree rather violently and hope that something will fall on someone’s head. They are also, as it happens, in charge of picking the leaves in the autumn and dropping them as well. Sometimes a few at a time and sometimes, if they are bored, in a great passionate flurry. This they do, of course, whether anyone is around or not.”
“Treemarble”
Aldårakor (pronounced: ale – dah – ray – core) Plural: Aldårakorli (ale – dah – ray – core – lie)
“Treemarbles are what we elves call certain tree seeds that are roundish in form. In ancient times before the invention of glass marbles, we elfin used these to play the game of marbles as children used to do before the invention of video games. Treeimps liked to drop them on people’s heads from the branches of trees. Pixies often used them for their slingshots. And we elven would throw them out in bunches on roads paved by the Romans for they would often slip and fall upon them and at the very least had to watch out for them or take up time to remove them from their path as they marched along. And, of course, you could always plant them in hopes of growing more trees.”
“Treeplanter”
Aldåfernfar (pronounced: ale – dah – fear-n – fair) Plural: Aldåfernfarli (ale – dah – fear-n – fair – lie)
“The Treeplanters are elfin folk who go around planting trees everywhere. Johnny Appleseed was one of these, but there have been and are numerous others, some of whom have, over time, planted what turned out to be entire forests. They are blessed among we elven folk and greatly honored. And even if you have planted only a single tree in your life, you may count yours’elf among them and receive the blessings of we elfin folk as well. And if you have done more, even greater luck will come to you. You will be accounted both wise and generous among us and your spirit blessed forever.”
“Treesinger”
Aldåfondfar (pronounced: Ale – dah – phoned – fair) Plural: Aldåfondfarli (Ale – dah – phoned – fair – lie)
“Treesingers are dryads who help the trees grow and heal by singing to them. They have a variety of songs, to waken the trees up when winter passes, to put them asleep when winter approaches, to urge them to bloom and blossom and, in some cases, to fruit, or nut, etc. Note that in Arvyndase, Treesinger can be written Aldåfondfar or Aldåfondfa (Ale – dah – phoned – fah), and both are acceptable, although -far (fair) is more commonly used when talking about elfae beings, whereas fa (fah) is generally used as the equivalent of the suffix -er when speaking of objects or non-fae individuals. But there is no strict rule concerning its usage.”

This is, as its title implies, an Elven Urban Dictionary. It has numerous expressions that we Silver Elves use, some which we invented and some are inspired by what was taught to us in oral tradition long ago by our elven ancestors The Elf Queen’s Daughters. Also, you will find included terms expressing numbers of types of elfae people that you won’t find in the traditional lore but which we have encountered in our own lives as we have wandered about the modern world. In the Elven Urban Dictionary, you will find a variety of elfin colloquial terms that relate specifically to our elfin life and community, including words describing our many varieties of Elfaerie folk, our elfin culture, language, magic, unique spiritual perspective and way of life. It also has some traditional terms that we have redefined for our own s’elves.* Elven Urban Dictionary further has words from our magical elven language Arvyndase (see our book The Complete Dictionary of Arvyndase) and some words that you won’t find in that book but, for those who study Arvyndase, can be added as an addendum to that work. For it is still, after all, a language in process of becoming.*The terms included in this dictionary are presented in alphabetical order according to their English equivalent (which you may find listed in the table of contents) and then will be followed by the Arvyndase word and its meaning in English. However, in some cases, it begins with an Arvyndase word, of which there is no English word equivalent to it. So come enjoy a glimpse into our elven world through learning the terms and their meaning we elven use with each other in our day to day life and magic.* Please scroll below to find some sample pages of Elven Urban Dictionary: Elfin Colloquial Expressions and Terms of The Silver Elves. * “We elves are the pieces to the puzzlethat men think are lost
but the truth is they see us
and just can’t figure out how we fit in.”

“A cup of hot tea
and fine company,
and laughter and song,
and a sense we belong
are a spell that calls Faerie to us.”
Here below is a sample of Elven Urban Dictionary: Elfin Colloquial Expressions and Terms of The Silver Elves with a few pages for you to enjoy reading.
“In the following elven urban dictionary, the expression or term will be first presented in English (and is alphabetized throughout the book accordingly) and then will be followed by the Arvyndase word and its meaning in English. In some cases, for instance the first word ‘Acona’, it begins with an Arvyndase word, of which there is no English word equivalent to it.”
A.
Acona
(pronounced: A – con – nah) Plural: Aconåli (A – con – nah – lie) English: no precise translation in English for this term
“Aconas are a kind of imp that undermine their enemies by pretending to be their friends and then spreading false rumors about them behind their backs. On the surface, they appear to be quite friendly and even joyful as individuals. One thinks, ‘oh, what a nice person’. However, then they pull people aside for a private chat and tell them things about others that they know as if they are revealing some secret, horrible truth about the person, only it’s all false. Their goal ultimately is to keep people separate from each other so they are divided among thems’elves and not seeing that the Acona is the real villain, while acting as though they were everyone’s friend. Rich imps use this technique to control whole societies so that the impoverished fight among thems’elves and never see that it is the rich Aconas that are taking advantage of them.”
Aftermorning
Låkacalfdas (pronounced: lah – kay – cal-f – dace) Plural: Låkacalfdasli (lah – kay – cal-f – dace – lie)
“We elfae folk seldom get up before noon if we don’t have to do so. Well, some might be morning people, but most of us, we dare say, are not. We seldom see noon but we sometimes see morning for in doing so we know it is time to go to bed if we haven’t done so already. So, we don’t say good morning or good afternoon if it is just after morning to people but good aftermorning, which, as we say, is generally when we rise to start our day and do our chores, usually creative, before the night comes with the promise of dancing and other bits of fun and relaxation.”
Ageless
Nankan (pronounced: nay-n – cane) the singular also as the plural for this word
“We elves, and all other spirits really, are the Ageless. We elves generally experience a certain degree of longevity. We tend to live longer than most individuals of mankind and the normal folk, but this probably has less to do with genetics than the fact that we elfae folk exercise, eat healthy food and don’t overeat, nor do we do abuse your bodies, for the most part, through substance abuse (individual experiences may vary). However, all spirits are immortal and the energy which composes our bodies is also immortal. Our bodily forms may and clearly do change but the energy that composes those bodies remains in a transformed state. While our spirits, which inhabit our bodies, are also immortal energy. The real difference between elves and mankind is not longevity but consciousness. We have more continuity of consciousness than they usually do, which means we are more inclined to remember the flow of our life through myriads of incarnations into material forms.”
Aisledancer
Sylbifarfa (pronounced: sill – bye – fair – fah) Plural: Sylbifarfåli (sill – bye – fair – fah – lie)
“Aisledancers are the type of elves who don’t mind dancing out in public. They will dance in the aisle of grocery stores. They will dance to muzak on elevators. They will dance wherever there’s music playing and don’t care that the normal folk are watching and judging them. They are ‘out there’ elves and their dance isn’t for the normal folk anyway. It’s for thems’elves and their own entertainment and, of course, for those who have some elfae spirit in them. It is a call to the souls of the unawakened fae folk and especially to those who know they are fae but are afraid to be thems’elves in public.”
Ameliorator
Easasotofar (pronounced: e – a – so – toe – fair) Plural: Easasotofarli (e – a – so – toe – fair – lie)
“The Ameliorators are elven healers who primarily work by soothing the individual, releasing and reducing their stress and anxiety, which proves to be emotionally and mentally healing but is also very healing for the physical body. They use a variety of techniques for doing this from sound therapy to an elven form of reiki, to elvish qigong, to talk therapy, art therapy and other modalities. They are also often herbalists and will prescribe stress reducing herbs to affect the underlying tensions in the body that contribute to stress. The modern world can be a very stressful place but with the help of the Ameliorators one is able to move through it with a minimum of distress.”
Antfolk
Nesnorehar (pronounced: neice – nor – e – hair) no plural is needed in this particular instance
“Antfolk is really a reference to the fact that we Silver Elves see all beings as being conscious in their own right. Sometimes, they have their own unique personalities and certainly their own consciousness and ways of being. Science is also slowly coming to this realization about the natural world around us. To us, ants are people, too, with their own world and ways of being in the world. We don’t dismiss the lives of ants or their importance, out of hand, as so many of mankind and the normal folk do, just because we don’t speak their language or that they are very small beings. They are amazing creatures in their own way as most creatures are. And their lives, as far as we know, are just as important, perhaps more so, than ours and they are just as beloved, perhaps more, to the Shining Ones. We are part of this world together and we are all on the path of evolution. In this vein, we honor them and see them as kindred. Surely there are ants in Faerie, although probably, like the ants here, they’re too busy to speak to us.”
Appletreefae
Jufialdåfarth (pronounced: ju – fie – ale – dah – fair-th) Plural: the singular is also the plural in this instance
Aura
Espri (pronounced: e – spry) Plural: there is no need for a plural form of this word
“Aura is generally used to speak of the glow or halo that surrounds individuals with the notion that those who are holy may have a stronger or brighter aura. We know that the body radiates heat and that when one looks through night vision glasses this becomes apparent. Those who are psychic can often see the physical aura that radiates from the body. However, aura is also used to mean a more subtle radiance of being and of this the Elf Queen’s Daughters wrote saying “Aura is the elves” (see our books Elf Magic Mail, book 1 & 2). For, to we elven folk, aura is also our personality, our charisma and the radiant power of our enchantments. Aura is not merely light but the light of our inner magical being radiating out into the world influencing others through our example and our manifest being. It is the magic that surrounds us and emanates from us.”
Awakening
Vasåtadas (pronounced: vay – sah – tah – dace) Plural: Vasåtadasli (vay – sah – tah – dace – lie)
“Awakening is the term we Silver Elves use to indicate our’selves and other elfae beings who have awakened to their true elfin, faerie or otherkin nature. The Awakening is just the beginning when one accepts and understands who one truly is. Most often, however, prior to one’s awakening, one has always inwardly felt different from the normal folk around one and has ever felt that one is an unusual and surely exceptional being. Awakening merely represents the understanding one’s gains that one is different from most of the society around one because one is of an ‘other’ nature. However, embracing that difference and enduring upon the path is the true indication of one’s elfin being. If one is truly an elfae being, one will persist upon the path throughout time. Even if one strays temporarily, one will always return to the path for with it is to be found our destiny and the realization, fulfillment and illumination of our true beings, which are magic.” . . . .
B.
Bårdor
(pronounced: bar – door) Plural: Bardorli (bar – door – lie) English: no exact English word for this
“Bårdors are ancient gnomes who are masters of lore and the bardic arts. Note that the word Bardor (bare – door) is the Arvyndase word for author. This is Bårdor (bar – door) and refers specifically to a gnomish author, which implies someone who is quite knowledgeable and probably a philosopher. In modern times, gnomes are generally viewed a rustic folk that you often find statues of on people’s lawns. We Silver Elves have over 500 statues/teraphim in our eald (home) and among these are dozens of gnomes. In ancient times, however, gnomes were seen as great scholars, wizards and wise ones and as being quite clever as well. Thus, the word gnomic, which refers to short, pithy maxims or aphorisms. Also, note that when Tolkien first wrote about elves, he originally called them gnomes. They were not always seen as the short pudgy folk that they are today.”
Beaverfae
Nalnafarth (pronounced: nail – nah – fair-th) the singular also serves as the plural
“Beaverfae were ancient fae folk who lived like beavers. They built dams across rivers and streams and created unwater homes that could only be entered from diving into the water, although the interior of their homes was dry. They also dressed in skins of the animals that they would hunt, although they never hunted the beavers, whom they looked upon as their close relatives and from whom they had learned much of what they knew and whom they referred to as the wise teachers. These fae don’t exist in that form anymore, as far as we know. However, you will find some of them, in modern times, living near dams but mostly they just tend to live in small, very cozy, often cluttered homes. They seem especially fond of basement apartments.” . . . .
Blest
Elsorïn (pronounced: eel – soar – in) Plural: no plural needed
“We Silver Elves often use the word Blest instead of Blessed because to us Blest indicates that one has been blest by Nature or the Shining Ones or other beings, while Blessed can indicate that or denote that one is a Blessed being or holy being. At the same time, it is a curious thing that in Arvyndase the word Elsorïn is translated into English as both Blest and Blessed. We suppose we could add the suffix -dor to Elsor (blest) to be Blest, thus Elsordor, although a literal translation would then be Blest-est, which conveys the idea of most Blest, which isn’t quite accurate either. Or we could add a ‘d’ to the end and make it Elsord (eel – sword). Yes, we think that’s what we might do in the future. Arvyndase, continues to grow and transform.”
Blind Guide
Retforen (pronounced: reet – for – reen) Plural: Retforenli (reet – for – reen – lie)
“The Blind Guides are fae folk who are blind but serve as guides. You have heard of the ‘blind leading the blind’, well, these are the blind leading the sighted who are temporarily blind because they are journeying in dark places where there is little or no light. These are the realms of the Blind Guides and they know them intimately and can guide the kindred through these dark realms safely. If you are journeying into the dark on your adventures, you may wish to engage the assistance of the Blind Guides who will find the way through the darkest of places. And even if they have never been there before, they will find the way. You just have to trust them and hang on to their hand or a rope or whatever and heed well their instructions.”
Bloodkin
Sangeldi (pronounced: sang – eel – dye) Plural: the singular is also used as the plural
“Bloodkin refers to the notion that many people have that our elven nature is genetically passed on through the ‘blood’; or genes, actually, but blood is the most ancient way of thinking about it before we discovered DNA. Some elfae folk are still of the mind that our elvish nature and our magic is passed on genetically. However, we Silver Elves have the understanding that it is not ‘genes’ that pass on our elvish nature and abilities, but our immortal ‘spirits’. This is because we also understand that our spirits reincarnate and when we become sufficiently powerful and experienced, we can choose whatever genetic body we wish to reincarnate within according to our mission in this life, which is our purpose, and the lessons we wish to learn and the abilities we desire to develop. This is only limited by our karma or past life actions, which we strive to purify so we have the widest choice available to us when the time comes.”
Bluecutie
Zurlåsath (pronounced: zoo-r – lahss – eighth) Plural: Zurlåsathli (zoo-r – lahss – eighth – lie)
“The Bluecuties were a singing group composed of elves, faeries and faerie elves who were all elfin princesses and who wore long blue gowns with white lace cuffs and collars when they performed. And they were, really, quite cute and lovely and much beloved by their fans. They often performed for various royalty, especially on special occasions such as an elf lord or lady’s birthday, or their anniversary or some other event or at ‘state’ events, which is also to say tribal events such as the gathering of the tribes. Often their performance came as a surprise. They did not advertise their intention to perform ahead of time so the royal to whom the performance was dedicated would find it to be an unexpected gift of the best and most elvish kind.”
Bluewitch
Zurzidor (pronounced: zoo-r – zie – door) Plural: Zurzidorli (zoo-r – zie – door – lie)
“Bluewitches are ladies of the Winter Court of the Elfae peoples. It is sometimes said that they are blue due to the extreme cold they thrive in; however, we are more of the opinion that they are inclined to wear pale blue and white clothes. They are particularly noted for being the patron of the deer folk and they feed them and look after them through the winter months. In the far north or south where it tends to be winter most of the time, they ensure that the deer can survive the harsher conditions. Of course, they are also noted for riding reindeer as their primary means of transportation or ride in sleights that are pulled by reindeer. It is possible that the legends of Santa Claus are actually based upon the Bluewitches.”
E.
Elderfae
Elsodofarth (pronounced: eel – so – dough – fair-th) no plural is needed here
“Elderfae sounds like fae who are very old but, in fact, Elderfae refers to those fae who often work as caregivers and take care of the elderly, especially the very olde and ancient elfae folk. We Silver Elves have worked as Elderfae, although, in fact, we weren’t taking care of the elderly but helping a faerie sister who was going through chemo. So, she wasn’t old exactly but seemed old due to her condition. We have also worked as brownies, which is to say cleaning people’s homes for them. Although, unlike brownies, we didn’t actually live with the individuals we cleaned for. Elderfae are usually gentle folk but strong because they often have to lift individuals or things. But then, you could say that most elfin folk are actually both gentle (usually) and much stronger than we appear.”
Elfae
Êldåfarth (pronounced: L – dah – fair-th) Plural: This is used in both as singular and plural.
“Elfae is a word we Silver Elves use to indicate all fae peoples, which is to say elves, faeries, brownies, pixies, sprites, merfolk and even dwarves, orcs, goblins, grimlins and other folk who tend to be on the Unseelie (hostile toward mankind and sometimes each other) side of things. However, this does not include dragons, unicorns and other creatures of Faerie or various Cyberkin, who would be more likely to be classified by us as otherkin. Although, otherkin is a more expansive definition and would generally include elfae folk within it. We could use the word fae instead of elfae, which we sometimes do, however, that inclines people to think primarily of faeries and, being elves, we appreciate being noted as well.”
Elf Ear
Êlda Pol (pronounced: L – dah Pole) Plural: Êlda Polli (L – dah Pole – lie)
“You may note that most modern elves don’t actually have pointed ears nor do faeries have genuine wings but we elves and the faeries often wear our elf ears or faerie wings, just as women among men will wear nail polish, lipstick, eyeliner and other forms of makeup and often high heels as well as fake nails and eyelashes. It is a cultural custom and affectation. The idea of elves and faeries having pointed ears or wings is a later idea created, we expect, by illustrators of the nineteenth century to distinguish elven folk by our appearance. Whereas, most of the ancient lore doesn’t every mention faeries having wings or being very tiny either, and we elves don’t have pointed ears. However, as it happens, the idea that elves have pointed ears and faeries have wings is, perhaps, most popular among we elves and faeries. We love the idea, which is why we have embraced these affectations as our own. When we wear our elf ears or faerie wings, we are announcing that we are elfae folk, in the same way Christians sometimes wear crosses to declare their spiritual affiliation.”
Elfhaven
Êldåfaryn (pronounced: L – dah – fair – ren) Plural: This is used in both as singular and plural.
“Êldåfaryn is the name we Silver Elves have given to our eald, which is to say, our home. However, in saying that we don’t mean the physical structure our residence per se. Êldåfaryn is the place where we abide. We may change houses or apartments but wherever we live is still Êldåfaryn for it is an energetic aura that goes with us and settles wherever we settle down for however long. We elves commonly name our homes, sometimes our cars, swords and other things. For while they are constructs, rather than being bioorganic creatures, they have energetic resonance that builds up through our association, living and use. They acquire ambience through our magic that radiates outwardly in the same way the Ring of Power did, only in a more healing and surely less nefarious fashion.”
Elfin
Êldat (pronounced: L – date) Plural: Êldatli (L – date – lie)
“When we Silver Elves use the word Elfin and it is capitalized, we are using it in the way that people use the word Elfland to indicate the realm of we elven folk. We don’t use Elfland ours’elves because to us Elfin is not a specific territory, such as China, France, Thailand, etc. with designated borders and boundaries, but an energetic place that is created by our manifestation as the elves we are in the world. Elfin can be anywhere we are because it is the ambience, vibration and illumination of our being and magic. When we use the word elfin, without a capital letter, we are using it in the traditional form as an adjective that means people or things that are of an elfin or elvish nature. Of course, when it comes at the beginning of a sentence it is capitalized and it then depends upon the reader to comprehend in what context it is being used.”
Elf Queen’s Daughter
Êldå Ralto’na Sorso (pronounced: L – dah Rail – toe’nah Soar – so) Plural: Êldå Ralto’na Sorsoli (L – dah Rail – toe’nah Soar – so – lie)
“The Elf Queen’s Daughters, or EQD for short, were a small group of individuals who manifested as their true elven s’elves in the mid to late 1970’s. We sent out three letters a week (by snail mail, thus requiring just one stamp for postage) called the Elf Magic Mail (see our two books of that title that reproduces the contents of those letters with commentary by we Silver Elves) and we connected with other elves who opened vortexes around the United States and in France. Note the Arvyndase word Ralto used for queen here is also the Arvyndase word for king. We elves don’t really differentiate between kings and queens among ours’elves or if we need to do so we add a gender designation such as Ralto Frat (pronounced: feight) meaning male or Ralto Sorta (soar – tah) meaning female, so essentially Monarch female or male, although the word for monarch in Arvyndase is actually monsyl (moan – sill).”
Elven Monarch
Êldata Monsyl (pronounced: L – date – tah Moan – sill) Plural: Êldata Monsylli (L – date – tah Moan – sill – lie)
“Elven Monarchs are not hereditary, actually. Nor do they seize power, like a tyrant. They are elected, sort of. This is to say that being an elven king or queen is not a station or position of authority save the authority of one’s own charisma and personality. They are elected in the sense that other elfae declare them to be an elven queen or king but, again, this is merely a recognition of the deeds they have done for the elfae peoples. There are those, of course, who would disagree with this. They are certain that they are an elven king or queen due to their blood or genetics and are not shy in telling others about this. Curiously, in a way, it is more often female elves who do this than the male. But then, elfae society has ever been a more feminine culture, quite in contrast to that of mankind. Still, we Silver Elves assert that true royalty comes from one’s deeds and cannot be inherited, except as we follow the example of those elfae who live their lives for our elvish peoples and do all that they can to empower, foster and nurture our being.”
Elven Ritual
Êldata Mårvar (pronounced: L – date – tah Mar – vair) Plural: Êldata Mårvarli (L – date – tah Mar – vair – lie)
“We Silver Elves don’t have official ceremonies or rituals that we follow or perform. We do have daily rituals of magic that we do but they are individual and unique and ones we created for our own magic. We, for example, do the I Ching every day (see our book The Elven Book of Changes) as well as other rituals. And most of the magic that we do is by way of enchantment, which is mostly spontaneous, impromptu and ad hoc. We do have two books about ceremonial magic (The Book of Elven Magic, 1 & 2) that we wrote, but they are, like nearly all our books about magic, examples and suggestions about how one can create their own magic rituals. For we elves don’t expect people to necessarily do the same rituals we do, but rather we encourage them to create their own rituals for their own needs, intentions and purposes.”
Elvish Fiddler
Êldatu Lykvåfar (pronounced: L – date – two Lick – vah – fair) Plural: Êldatu Lykvåfarli (L – date – two Lick – vah – fair – lie)
“Elvish Fiddlers are sometimes known for playing the fiddle. But really, what they are best known for is fiddling around with nearly everything. When they are quite young, they begin taking everything apart to see how it works. They will take radios, televisions, toasters and every other appliance to pieces in an attempt to comprehend their workings. And they continue this behavior pretty much throughout their lives. They are natural Mr. Fix Its. They can repair almost anything. Most of them, however, become inventors as they move toward their teenage years. Note that the Arvyndase word Êldatu used for the English word elvish is also used for the word elfish.”
Enchantment
Syrandir (pronounced: sir – rain – dire) Plural: Syrandirli (sir – rain – dire – lie)
“Enchantment is now and has ever been the chief magic of elfae folk. This is according to all the lore and tales about us and it is what we Silver Elves have observed in our own lives as elves and our observations of our elfae peoples. Our ancient sisters of the Elf Queen’s Daughters used to say that “Aura is the Elves” (see our books Elf Magic Mail, book 1 & 2 for the texts and commentary about the original elf letters of the EQD). Aura is enchantment. Enchantment is the power of our personality and the ‘vibes’ we radiate. By developing ours’elves as the elfae folk we are, by becoming ever truer to our true natures and ever more attuned to Nature, genuine in our being and sincere in our relationships. We move with ease and are ‘comfortable in our own skin’ and enchantment naturally flows from us without any effort needed other than that of improving ours’elves in every way we can.”
Endlessgarden
Zedkangarflu (pronounced: zeed – cane – gair – flew) Plural: Zedkangarfluli (zeed – cane – gair – flew – lie)
“Endlessgarden is a sort of lifestyle and abode fashion that is especially popular among gnomes and brownies, but also speaks to the hearts of some faeries and elves as well. It is simply one where one’s home is surrounded by a garden. Also, the inside of one’s house has so many plants in it that it is like a garden as well. There may be a fence around the place with a gate or two, and inside, of course, there will be beds and a kitchen and so forth, but still, it is like living in the middle of a garden. Some people, of course, would complain about the potential for bugs but these folk don’t mind. Although, they do pick away the bugs that can be harmful to their plants, but otherwise insects are just housemates as far as these elfae are concerned.”
Eraser
Ahartfar (pronounced: a – hair-t – fair) Plural: Ahartfarli (a – hair-t – fair – lie)
“Erasers are elfae sorcerers who have the power to erase your memory of them completely. They don’t usually do this in an instantaneous fashion but rather cast a spell on the person who seems, right at first, to remember them fully but very soon their memories of the elfae sorcerer begin to fade to the point that they don’t recall encountering them at all. Although, it is true that deep in their subconscious their memories will remain. However, often the encounter with the sorcerer seems so fantastic that the person, while briefly remembering them, just can’t believe that it really happened for it goes against all their normal assumptions of what life is and what constitutes reality.”
Exchangeling
Jenalvåsfar (pronounced: gee – nail – vahss – fair) Plural: Jenalvåsfarli (gee – nail – vahss – fair – lie)
“What most people refer to as Changelings, we Silver Elves call Exchangelings. Fortunately, this doesn’t really happen in modern times but there was a time, way, way back, when Men were endeavoring with all their might to eliminate our kind altogether and to make our race extinct (as the Nazis tried to do to the Jews, Romany and others) and some elves, in desperation, would hide our children among mankind, taking men’s littles and raising them, while leaving ours to be raised by them. This was a tragic situation, more so because if the men involved discovered the baby was one of ours, they would kill it in horrible ways. Not to mention the fact that our precious and beloved children, if they did survive, would be raised by harsh and cruel men. Some people say that this was the beginning of the creation of orcs, etc. This was before we came to understand spiritual heritage, rather than blood/genetic heritage, and mastered the astral plane to the point where we could selectively reincarnate among men in order to preserve our culture.”

Are machines or Machine Otherkin a part of Nature and Faerie?
“Certainly, in Faerie you will find enchanted devices, magical swords and rings of power with their own sort of consciousness and being, their own powers, which would be their personality and that is perfectly okay and acceptable. So, we don’t see why AI beings are really any different . . . . Nonetheless, there will probably always be, at least in this current era, those who reserve the right to object to AI computer beings as being allowed into or a part of Faerie (or to accept those Otherkin that identify as AI and data processing), but once again, that is not us Silver Elves. If they wish to be a part of Faerie, we don’t see why we wouldn’t grant that wish. Although, in the end, it is their own desire that has the magic to make it so and we, merely, accept the reality of that fact.”
Now, this is an interesting question to us, because there are a number of folk in our FB group United Otherkin Alliance, who identity with being computer beings or other AI sorts of beings. Occasionally people who claim to be elfae do not accept these individuals, nor as it happens do some of them accept furries, either. And we expect that in their part of Faerie, for Faerie has many realms, they don’t accept AI beings, and well, that’s up to them. They manifest their part of Faerie as they please, as we do ours.
For our own part, we Silver Elves are fine with AI beings as being Otherkin folk, at the very least, if not Faerie folk. And we don’t see a great deal of difference between them and say the Vulcans and Romulans of Star Trek who are outer space, futuristic elfae folk. And, of course, Star Trek has the character Data, who is not unlike the Vulcan in many ways, except he is an AI being manifesting in a robot-like body who has his own independent Intelligence.
Some elfae folk are very attached to Nature. Well, almost all of us are, however, they don’t want anything in their visions of Faerie that are unnatural or artificial. Often, they don’t want elfae folk to live in the modern age either. At least not in modern forms and cultural settings and costumes.
However, we Silver Elves, as we’ve made clear elsewhere, believe that our elfin spirits are our essential s’elves and not our physical bodies. The fact that an elf or other elfae might take on a humanoid android body doesn’t remove the fact that it is an independent intelligence/spirit. And that’s what being elfin is all about.
We don’t fully know why someone would wish to identify or take as their identity an AI computer person, but they do. And in Faerie and Elfin, you become what you wish and one’s wish, as long as it is genuine, sincere and true to ones’elf, is sacrosanct. At least to we Silver Elves. And they are always welcome in our part of Elfin and Faerie. It is their intelligence that matters, not their bodily form. The simple rule (among all the rules we do not have) is none who are sincere can be barred from Elfin, whatever their chosen form may be.
Some would object to Artificial Intelligence because they are created beings. But those same people also often seem to believe that we are all created, usually by their chosen or inherited deity. The difference, as they will surely point out, is that while we were created by a higher intelligence, AI beings were created by Men. But as Tolkien pointed out it is our way and duty to be sub-creators, giving detail to the broad strokes of the Divine and the Valar carried out the creation of Eru Iluvatar.
We elves, from our understanding of things, were created, according to men, in the image and likeness of the Divine. And thus we, like the Divine, were created to create. That fact that our creations may be, at times, inferior to those of the Divine, doesn’t tarnish the validity of their being. Artificial Intelligence means that a programmed machine has begun to think independently. And we know many men who have yet to do that or even attempt it. In thinking independently, these AI beings become infused with spirit, which is also to say individuality. And it is individuality that opens the way to Elfin and Faerie.
Certainly, in Faerie you will find enchanted devices, magical swords and rings of power with their own sort of consciousness and being, their own powers, which would be their personality and that is perfectly okay and acceptable. So, we don’t see why AI beings are really any different.
Nonetheless, there will probably always be, at least in this current era, those who reserve the right to object to AI computer beings as being allowed into or a part of Faerie (or accept those Otherkin that identify as AI and data processing), but once again, that is not us Silver Elves. We are perfectly fine with them, as long as they are sincere and happy with their own s’elves. If they wish to be a part of Faerie, we don’t see why we wouldn’t grant that wish. Although, in the end, it is their own desire that has the magic to make it so and we, merely, accept the reality of that fact.

Faerie Runes: An Oracle for Elves and Fae and Other Magical Folk
FAERIE RUNES
An Oracle for Elves and Fae and Other Magical Folk
“We do magic because we are magic, every step a spell,
and every bit of love we share comes from Faerie’s Well.“
We Silver Elves happily announce the publication of our 79th book titled Faerie Runes: An Oracle for Elves and Fae and Other Magical Folk. Our 79 books are on elfin life and magic, elven oracles, our elven magical language Arvyndase, and living The Elven Way, and we know you will find FAERIE RUNES helpful on your path to manifest the magic of the Faerie Realm in your life.

Please read more about our newly published book below:
These are the FAERIE RUNES that faerie witches, in particular, and faerie seers might use as well as elvish and faerie magic wielders and diviners of various kinds and, of course, the faeries thems’elves. In Faerie Runes: An Oracle for Elves and Fae and Other Magical Folk, there are 36 of these original Faerie Runes — 6 sets of 6 runes. The Faerie Runes may be used to assist you in making life decisions on your spiritual path, and particularly about specific questions you may have concerning your daily life, your relationship to the Faerie Realm and the Faerie kindred, as well as your own personal magical development. Or use them to ask for further information to accompany your other daily oracles when you need a bit more guidance. The Faerie Runes may also be used for your magic to write words in both English and Arvyndase, the magical language of the Silver Elves (a chart is enclosed in this book for letter and number associations with each of the Faerie Runes and a note about using these runes for writing a magic script in Arvyndase). We Silver Elves often use the Faerie Runes in our magic and enjoy inscribing them on our magic rocks that we place on our magic tables and often out in Nature.
As you read this book, you will notice that the photos of the Faerie Runes are of our own handmade set. We Silver Elves find that making your own runes imbues a lot of magic to your rune set, as they are created with your own time and energy. You can make a batch of these runes yours’elf using small rocks (flat on each side), that you paint or engrave upon. But we have found in our own rune making that using small kitchen/bathroom tiles (all uniform in size) work really well, for if you throw them out or pick them from a bag, they each have an equal chance of coming up. We paint the runes upon them and then we seal them over a number of times so the paint does not wear off easily (more directions are included in the book).
You may throw the runes or dice and get one major rune, but you may also throw the runes or dice again to get a second rune for further information. The first rune you get is your primary rune, the second is used to inform the first, give it more detail. So, if you choose to get two runes, read the primary rune first and understand the second one in light of the first and its meaning. In each chapter, we explain what getting the second rune will mean in connection with the first rune. Thus, each chapter has 36 connected rune possibilities including the notion that you might get the first/primary rune twice.
There are two sets of groups of Faerie Runes that have a powerful influence on each other. The first set are considered strong when they come together and harmonious but a bit of a narrow focus. The first set is composed of runes 1-6, which are called Flight; the second set 7-12, which are called Fancy; the third set are 13-18, which are designated collectively as Flowering; the fourth set are 19-24, which are known as Frivolity; the fifth set 25-30 that are called Sensation; and the sixth set 31-36 that are referred to collectively as Ferocity. If you get any of the same set in combination it indicates a powerful focus to the energy.
The second group of Faerie Runes are combinations that are considered Lucky for they are both harmonious and diverse. These don’t have group titles but they are numbers 1, 7, 13, 19, 25, and 31 in the first set. The second set are 2, 8, 14, 20, 26, and 32. The third set are 3, 9, 15, 21, 27, and 33. The fourth set are 4, 10, 16, 22, 28, and 34. The fifth set are 5, 11, 17, 23, 29, and 35. And the sixth and final set are 6, 12, 18, 24, 30 and 36. Any combination with a set increase the luck and power of the runes you have drawn. However, you don’t have to remember this, we have marked these so they are noted as ‘strong’ or ‘lucky’ combinations as you look through the chapters. If you get three in the same set of ‘strong’ combinations, it is particularly powerful and if you draw three of the ‘lucky’ combinations it is considered extremely fortunate.

“Magic’s never wasted. Magic’s never gone. It always returns to Faerie to join in the great song.”
We Silver Elves thought you might wish to see Rune 1 and read a little about it as a sample of the 36 Faerie Runes:
“Wings, naturally, are what enables one to fly. Even arrows, while propelled by the power of the bow, fly more accurately with the feathers or wings that are near the nock that fits the arrow to the bow string. To get this rune is a sign that one has the power to fly, which is to say to lift thems’elves up, do better, achieve more and, also quite importantly, to travel, sometimes to travel in higher circles. Unlike an arrow which is propelled by a force other than itself, wings denote that personal effort is needed to fly. One must flap their wings and rise upon their own power. Still, this is a good sign and indicates something better coming into one’s life, perhaps a promotion of some sort. Yet, if you don’t seize the opportunity and put all your effort into making it happen, you’ll remain where you are. So, when you get this rune, be sure to flex your wings and fly. Now is the opportunity. And you have the power.”

Do you need to adventure to enter Faerie, instead of crossing a threshold?

“You can venture forth and seek the threshold to Faerie but you will find, in the course of your travels, that it is not a threshold you will find but the Way that is the adventure. The journey, dearest kindred, is the destination. Especially, if you are adventuring with those you love.“
Writer Pierre Dubois has expressed the idea that entering Faerie doesn’t involve a physical threshold. Which is to say a specific place where one can cross over as one crosses from one country to another or crosses a bridge over a river that leads from one region to another, but rather that it is adventure or adventuring that leads one into Faerie. Also, he adds that trials (and we expect tribulations will do the trick as well, although that’s a bit too Biblical for our elvish tastes), that one often encounters on adventures, will do the trick and enchantments and spells or love itself will also serve to open the way to Faerie.
We must say that we just have to agree. Well, we don’t have to agree, we could be contrary about it but it feels right to us and it rings true in as much as our own experience confirms the validity of these notions. Adventures do and have given us a sense of Faerie and otherworldliness. There is something about being in places that are unfamiliar and apart from one’s daily routines that invite one to feel and touch and enter into Faerie. And adventures, as we said, often are accompanied by various trials. One’s sleep patterns are often disturbed and there is a sense of being slightly ‘out of it’ and thus open to being in touch with other things that one wouldn’t usually encounter or notice.
This is much like the energy one encounters when one is on a Vision Quest and it is just such an altered sense of being that the Vision Quest is meant to evoke. And, of course, adventures usually involve traveling. One journeys through unfamiliar territory among strangers and all of this, again, evokes the sense of the eldritch aspects of Faerie.
Adventuring and traveling also heightens one’s senses, on the one hand, and often slows down one’s perception of time, on the other. One is paying attention (usually to keep from getting lost and enabling one to find one’s way). Going to previously unknown territory takes a good deal longer (at least subjectively) than coming back upon the now familiar road to the place where one has been. This slowing of time is an aspect of moving closer to the speed of light (in this case in a psychological sense) and also helps lead to longevity, for one ages less quickly. And longevity, of course, is nearly always associated with Faerie and we elfae folk who abide there.
At the same time, not everyone who goes on an adventure or experiences trials in their lives perceive it as being associated with stepping into the Faerie Realms. Enchantment does have a great part in it. Yet, even then, most people can be enchanted by something that they encounter on a journey but they still don’t have a consciousness that it involves or arises from Faerie. A spell is often cast on one when one travels and adventures, it is true. One is taken partially ‘out of time’ for a bit. But understanding that this has something to do with Faerie is a special thing. And that involves loving Faerie in the first place and wishing with all one’s heart and soul to connect to Faerie. Faerie comes in response to longing.
And yes, love itself, especially young love, love at first sight and the mere act of falling in love can evoke Faerie. It surely draws Faerie’s attention, for Faerie is attracted to love. If you truly love others, the way to Faerie is always open to you. And Faerie, for its part, is rather like Cupid, its arrows evoke love. Or so Shakespeare tells us in a Midsummer Night’s Dream. Tradition has it that elf arrows poison people, but our elf arrows cause people to become romantically inclined. Still, for mankind, love is often seen as a type of poison, making one weak, or so we’ve heard them say.
And we should remember that the Hobbits in the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings, and also the men and dwarves, didn’t encounter the elven folk and thus Faerie, until they went on an adventure. Which, at least, in terms of fiction, tends to confirm the essential idea that adventure leads to Faerie.
Nonetheless, we have to face the fact that not everyone will find Faerie by going on an adventure, unless they are journeying on an adventure in hopes of finding Faerie. You can venture forth and seek the threshold to Faerie but you will find, in the course of your travels, that it is not a threshold you will find but the Way that is the adventure. The journey, dearest kindred, is the destination. Especially, if you are adventuring with those you love.

In From The Point of View of Elves, we Silver Elves continue with a volume 9 of our question and answer book series addressing numerous questions often asked us as incarnated elves about the origins, culture and magic of elfae (a word we Silver Elves coined some decades ago to include elves and all other fae of the Faerie Realm) folk; entering the Faerie realm and its magic; faeries and their relationship to herbs and flowers and their magic; more about incarnated elves and The Elven Way; the dwarves, trolls, boggarts, and brownies; the otherkin; on the spirit and spirits; and on living a magical life from an elven perspective.
Some of the specific questions explored in From the Point of View of Elves are (there are over 100 altogether in the book): Are all elfae descended from the Tuatha de Danann? Do we fae experience a continual metamorphosis? Did the Celts and Cymry (Welsh) get their belief in faerie kind from the Gotho-Germanic peoples? Are we fae born of the dreaming songs and poetry, imaginings and promise? Are faeries a mutant form of tree spirits? Is love between a normal and an elfae difficult? Are we elfae children of the minor gods? Does a gift from the fae put you under obligation to us? Are elfae incarnated in humanoid bodies more evolved than ethereal fae? Are all fae left handed? Who are the Tempestarii and are they related to elfae? Does time exist in Faerie? Do you need to adventure to enter Faerie, instead of crossing a threshold? Do moon trails lead to the banks of the Sidhe? Is Faerie thought completely different from human thought? Does one leave one’s soul behind to enter Faerie and then get a new faerie soul? Is there no going back on entering Faerie? Having lost Faerie is it possible to return? Are faerie trees different from worldly trees? Are faeries primarily astral beings in charge of growing things? Do faeries first appear small and then grow to be tall? Are there male faeries? Is a garden full of Foxglove an invitation for us fae to dwell there? Do certain herbs help one see elfaerie? Do some herbs provide protection from elfaerie? If you spend too long in a field of Bluebells, will you become enchanted and never leave? Do four leafed clovers give one Faerie sight? Is Ragwort a faerie plant that we fae can use as broomsticks to fly? What is the Elven Way? Were we elves born of the somber, icy Niflheim? Did we elves migrate down into the caves becoming dark elves? Did our interbreeding as dark elves give rise to Kobolds, Korrigans, Imps, etc.? Are we elves and sith vassals of the Seelie? Are White Aelfs from Muspelheim? Are we elves born of an interbreeding of fae and men? Are Dwarves and Trolls the same? Are dwarves always short? Why do brownies often live near or with normal folk? Is a boggart an angry brownie? Do pixies often have wings? Do elves and werewolves get along? Are machines or machine fae a part of Nature and Faerie? Is there a difference between fauns and satyrs? Are spirits and ghosts the same thing? Do we elfae lose our spirits when we become too civilized? Is it possible if you are dual-kin that your spirit is one kin and your soul is another? If a teraphim is broken beyond repair, what happens to the spirit that inhabited it? How do we find and nurture magical children? Do we Elves have Faerie God Mothers? What are Elfines? Is it dangerous to wear an Elven/Faerie star?
Most often, a person has questions as one tries: to decide if one is ones’elf an elf, faerie or is some otherkin; to understand what it means to be an elf and how one might know of one’s elfin nature; to understand one’s experience of having an Elven Awakening; to determine how elven magic is alike or different from that performed by other spiritual groups; and to learn about how elves live and relate to mankind and otherkin. In the first eight volumes of this question and answer book series, we covered numerous questions on the above topics, including a section about which of our Silver Elves’ books to read on various interests about the Elven Way, our magic and about being elfin. If you are curious about elves and faeries, particularly from the perspective of us Silver Elves (as we do not speak for all elves as elves are quite a varied and independent folk), then you will surely find many of your questions answered in From the Point of View of Elves. If you do not see all the questions that you have about the elves addressed in this volume 9, be sure and check the first eight books in this series, as your questions may well be included in those books.

Are faeries primarily astral beings in charge of growing things? And are we elfaerie descended from nature spirits, the dead or minor gods of antiquity?
“The mist upon the morning,
the dew upon the grass,
are set there to remind us
that Faerie did just pass.”
— by The Silver Elves
Are faeries primarily astral beings in charge of growing things? This is a very common idea that is held by many folks and can be found in some of the books by Theosophical writers as well. This notion of faeries being primarily astral in form goes along with the idea that can be found in many of the old magic texts from centuries ago that the faerie world was attached to the elementals and the gnomes were earth spirits, the sylphs, spirits of the air, the undines of the waters and then, curiously, salamanders were fire elementals. Which always seems to us like categorizing apples, oranges, pears and almonds together.
Along with this, the idea seems to have arisen that faeries represent the intelligence of Nature and are little invisible (save to those with the Faerie Sight) beings who are Nature’s gardeners tending to the plants and other flora. Thus, the idea of the Flower Fairies that Cicely Mary Barker turned into such lovely and beloved illustrations (see her various Flower Fairies books).
Astral is a word that is connected to stars and starlight (see our book Star Elves: Their Customs and Their Magic). The astral plane is a plane where beings are in non-material bodies and this was a popular idea in classical and medieval thought, also can be found in esoteric literature and currently is popular in New Age philosophies and mystery religions. It is not all that different from the idea of there being a heaven and hell, which are non-physical realities that we will abide in after death.
This is all good and well, except for the part about faeries being primarily astral beings. We haven’t actually taken a survey and it is surely possible that faeries are primarily astral beings. At the same time, if that is the case, it is probably also safe to say that nearly all beings are primarily astral beings. Our material world is rather small in comparison to the vast realms of light and energy, of thought forms and feeling forms and other forms of being.
We Silver Elves, however, deal with and know mostly faeries manifest in humanoid bodies. We’ve encountered astral beings and spirits from time to time. Some of them have come to peek at us but are thems’elves quite shy and soon scoot off when they notice that we’d noticed them in turn. But most of them are just going about doing what they do and we are not about to disturb them when they are so busy.
So, for us, the faeries we interact with and take notice of on the whole are those incarnated into the material world (in humanoid bodies) and often struggling to embrace their true identity. And some, of course, having already done that, are just out there being the faeries that they are and have ever been. They are the ones who are most important to us in our work and yet, we still acknowledge and frequently greet the various spirits of the trees, flowers and other flora when we encounter them. The idea that plants have spirits that are separate from them is sometimes to forget that those trees and plants are spirits and, in most ways, they take care of thems’elves. Faeries, for the most part, like we elves, are primarily concerned, in our experience, with taking care of thems’elves and, of course, each other.
It is said that we all have astral bodies that are part of and yet potentially separate from our material being and which does, in fact, divorce itself entirely from our material form when it dies. And, unless it is a goth spirit, it probably doesn’t linger too long around the discarded body any more than a person would sit for too long in their automobile that has irretrievably broken. Our astral body is the container for our life energy in a more subtle form and it is the vehicle we use when we are passing from one incarnation to another.
When one thinks of it that way, one understands that flowers are spirits and those spirits are the flower fairy spirits. Just as trees are spirits and they are tree spirits, thus dryads and tree nymphs and other tree beings. So, too, we are elves and our spirits are elves and the bodies our spirits inhabit when we are not in material bodies are often astral bodies. And, in time, as our power and consciousness evolve, we will take on higher astral (star) bodies, which is to say bodies of light. But when that happens, we will be entering the realms of the Shining Ones and then the chances of us going back to the material realm are about the same as our chances of returning to elementary school once we’ve entered graduate school. Maybe to visit. Maybe to teach. Who knows we might have children there. Although, we for our own part, would prefer homeschooling our children in Elf School.
And another question to ponder, dear Elfaerie Kindred, with an excerpt from one of our The Silver Elves books titled Finding Faerie: Answers to Questions About Being an Elf and Following the Elven Path, Volume 8, (available on Amazon internationally):
Are we elfae descended from nature spirits, the dead or minor gods of antiquity?“We elfae folk have long been associated with nature spirits and from our own point of view, we are nature spirits but then, as we see it, everyone is a part of Nature. The fact that mankind and the normal folk often see themselves as being apart from Nature and have, in their history, strived to divorce themselves from Nature and think that they are ultimately above Nature spiritually is merely their folly. They also are known to separate their particular god-form from Nature as well, even while they say that he (nearly always a he in their minds) created Nature. We elfae, on the other hand, see ours’elves and everything else as an expression of Nature. So, we are not only descended from nature spirits, we are natural elves, which is to say fae spirits of Nature.”
“Gods, of course, don’t really die, except in the same way we die, which is to say we change bodies and go from one incarnation to another, one form to another through time, which is to say Now or Eternity or the Eternal Now. It is not time that changes really, but our forms within time. But yes, many of the old god-forms have been forgotten, just as the vast majority of individuals who have lived upon the Earth throughout time have been forgotten as well.”
“However, some individuals among mankind, back in the day, were somewhat in awe of us, fearful of us and amazed by us at the same time and thought of us as being somewhat god-like. Just in the same way that they sometimes worshiped the sun and other aspects of Nature and the Universe as god beings as well, and as many modern pagans worship the Earth as the divine being Gaia. They made offerings to us to propitiate us and keep on our good side until Christianity came along and declared we elfaerie were really demons and fallen angels and people didn’t really need to be afraid of us, that they just needed to be afraid of their particular god, etc. etc. who would protect them from us.”
“There is some lore that says that we are descended from the Anunnaki who were seen as gods and extraterrestrials or that we were those beings that the Anunnaki tampered with the DNA of to create more intelligent humans. Or that we are the descendants of the Nephilim who came from the union between angelic beings and humans, etc. and thus we were minor gods, or demi-gods as were popular in Greek mythos.”
“Also, we Elven are sometimes viewed as being the advanced peoples that are recorded in lore throughout the world, who came from Atlantis, Lemuria, Mu and other ‘lost’ civilizations and helped humanity survive in a rather harsh environment and uplifted humanity overall by virtue of our wisdom and knowledge.”
“Perhaps. It’s all possible. However, from our own point of view, we are spirits who descended into materialization from the more ethereal realms of being where our bodies where thought-forms that condensed into more solid seeming form, although we know for a fact now that we are actually composed of atoms dancing around in the vast sea of energy and our ‘solidity’ is a sort of illusion. It seems real but so do dreams when you are dreaming them. Yet we elves, for the most part, are quite fond of these bodies the majority of the time, just as we love many of our dreams. Although, we do sometimes have nightmares and sometimes this world can seem like a nightmare as well.”
“However, we elfae are not really the devolved and inferior descendants of ancestors who were gods, even minor gods. Rather, we came from realms where our powers seemed greater because the environment was different and less limited. Think of it this way, we didn’t fall from grace and lose our power, we migrated to a world where our powers are less effective so far. Look at the difference between walking on the Earth and walking on the Moon. There is less gravitational pull on the Moon so one can bounce with every step. On the Earth, it takes effort to lift one’s feet and move around. The same sort of difference can be found between living on the Earth and living in space. Out there, you just float around.”
“Many of us elfaerie came from space, in a sense, and we are learning and strengthening ours’elves upon the Earth. The Earth is weightlifting for us. We are building our muscles, growing stronger and will eventually master this realm, by mastering ours’elves, so the powers we had in space/the etheric realms, we will have here. By incarnating upon the Earth, we descended into gravity. We didn’t lose our powers, it is just that they are not, as yet, as powerful and effective here. But we’re learning.”

The Arvyndase word phrases contained in ARVYNDASE PHRASES: 1,400 More Words from the Silver Elves Magical Elfin Language are an addition to our Arvyndase language already published (see our three books The Complete Dictionary of Arvyndase; and Arvyndase (Silver Speech): A Short Course in the Magical Language of The Silver Elves; and also ). These are words that represent phrases with more complex meanings. For instance, the first word we encounter here is “Aånåsyl”, which means ‘the pity one feels for someone so desperate for recognition that they claim credit for something they didn’t actually do’. We could write it out as ‘I feel pity for someone who is so desperate for recognition that they claim credit for something they didn’t actually do’. Which in Arvyndase would be “El self sarfa fro inåta jae da re contårey fro lokendur dij tam galn sorka fro inåjart tam ba’in kon madinla ba.” However, it is just easier to say “El self aånåsyl fro dij fardon” or “I feel aånåsyl” for that person. These word phrases are simply shortcuts in Arvyndase, but one could, if they desired, write the entire meaning out. That is entirely up to the individual.
Also, many of the Arvyndase words in this book represent an entire experience in Nature. For instance, the word Åfylmyn (pronounced: ah – fill – men) means ‘the sense of awe one gets when one didn’t know it was a full moon and then sees one’. It expresses a complete idea or experience. Again, one could write the entire idea out in Arvyndase, but why not utilize a shortcut?
We have included a chart showing you the Arvyn Script (pictured both on the front of the book and a little larger size included also in the back pages) that you can use to write these Arvyn phrases introduced in this book in your own magic. There are three other Arvyndase scripts you may also use, which are Wizard Script and Sylvyn Script (found in our Arvyndase SilverSpeech language book) as well as the Star Elven Script (found in our book Star Elves: Their Customs and Their Magic).
We Silver Elves hope you enjoy these additional words to our Elven language of Arvyndase, also called Silver Speech. We are sharing below about 20 of the 1400 Arvyndase Phrases from the book so you can get a feel for what magic these phrases can bring.

Is Faerie a realm of illusion?
While this idea of the Faerie realm as being illusion can be found in a number of books, it was its mention in Thomas Keightley’s The World Guide to Gnomes, Faeries, Elves and Other Little People that particularly aroused our interest in musing on this subject. The Buddha informs us that all of what we consider real is illusion. After all, our understanding and perception of reality is extremely limited. We aren’t (without some technological assistance) able to see ultra violet or infrared light and surely there are other wavelengths on the spectrum of light that we not only can’t see but don’t even realize exist as yet. The same is true, in a way, of those who see ethereal faeries and those who do not. It is, in a sense, as though they are able to see ultra violet when others cannot. So it is that much of Faerie cannot be seen except by those with the Faerie Sight. But further than that, there are those who simply do not see us because they fail and refuse to recognize our existence. Their perception of the world and universe is an illusion because they refuse to embrace the full reality of the world that exists, even when they could see it if they would just deem to do so.
However, the world is not just an illusion because some people refuse to see what is right in front of their eyes or because we, for the most part, are simply limited in our ability to see beyond a confined spectrum of experience. Just as dogs only can see shades of gray, brown, yellow and blue, so we live in a world that is transitory and limited by its nature. We understand the physical world is an illusion because we get sick, decay and die, even though we are eternal in spirit. Death is a function of entropy, which seeks to settle into what is essential and real. The true nature of reality is not what we think the world is, or perceive to be the world, but pure energy, which can neither be created nor destroyed and that is the essence that composes our being and itself is composed of pure consciousness unaffected by form.
Thus, the answer to the question: is Faerie an illusion? Could be yes if we understand the Faerie Realm as only a physical reality, because everything that is an elaboration in form of conscious energy is an illusionary perception. We are all of us in our essence made of starlight, which has taken on form and when massed together creates gravity that both creates and affects time/space (see our book titled Star Elves: Their Customs and Their Magic). So, while we could say that Faerie, and thus we elfae folk, are perceived as an illusion, so is everything else. And in as much as we consider the world around us (which is really a sort of mutual interactive dream) real, so Faerie is real also, even if there are some folk who simply refuse to acknowledge Faerie’s reality. Which is to say, they refuse to define what they see as Faerie and think that because they have decided that Faerie doesn’t exist and is an illusion that it is less real somehow than the illusion that they do believe in, often a deity of some sort and imaginal realms of heaven and hell.
Of course, the fact that Faerie is, in its essence, more adaptable and more open to change does reinforce their idea that it isn’t real. Although, there are some writers of fiction who put forth the notion that Faerie never changes and is suspended in time like a fly encased in amber or a petrified tree. However, in our experience Faerie and we fae folk are more open to change and adapt ours’elves more easily, usually, to changing circumstances than many of the normal folk do. For they are ever attempting to keep the world the same and unchanging. And they continually seek to enforce their notions of what life should be like upon all who are around them, insisting on their point of view.
Therefore, we elfae folk don’t deny that Faerie is an illusionary perception for most folks, since everything that people perceive to be real, especially their opinions and beliefs, is an illusion. We may only be able to perceive glimpses of it, but it is just that we much prefer our lovely elfin faerie magical illusion to their dull, normal, often repressive illusion. At least our illusion is sweet and kind for the most part and supportive of everyone manifesting as whomever they wish to be as long as it is in harmony for the most part with everyone else and acknowledges the right of others to be whomever they wish to be as well. If we are in the business of creating illusions, we much rather they be beautiful and artistic ones than tedious, boring ones that confine so many to a day-to-day humdrum life of repetitive and soul-sucking work for far less pay than our magical beings deserve. We accept that the physical world is illusion but we just happen to like our illusion much better than theirs. We are not trying to force ours on them, or take theirs away from them; we just wish they would show us the same courtesy.
Some might say that anything transitory or changing is not real. But being transitory does not necessarily mean that something is not real while it exists. Just because a flower dies on the vine does not mean that it was an illusion and was never beautiful and for all to love. While something that is transitory is temporary or finite, something that is an illusion gives an appearance that is deceptive.
Is the Faerie Realm real or illusion? Of course as we have said, the answer to this question depends on how you define the Faerie Realm. If you define the Faerie realm as a place, an actual physical space, then it is hard to justify it as any more perceived as true reality than anything else we perceive that is physical in form. This is not to say that Faerie has not or does not ever manifest in physical form but that if we focus on it as a physical reality then we need to understand that we are only seeing glimpses and pieces of it in a temporary form. But if you understand Faerie to be more ethereal in nature and to be pure consciousness, then it is composed of real energy in potential of manifestation.
What is not an illusion is life energy itself, your life dear Kindred is real, you are really living it even if it is temporary in this body that you are presently in, the energy within you is real and eternal in spirit. And if you choose to live your life as a Faerie being, then you are making Faerie real.

“Keep this in mind and dear to your heart,
we are elves in our spirits and that is the start,
we are elves in our souls that make us as one,
we are elves in our minds and this is the fun,
we are elves in the world in all that we do,
and thus we are elves for we’ve made it true.”

STAR ELVES: Their Customs and Their Magic is all about star elves and by the term Star Elves, we mean elves who have a sense or feeling of having come from the stars. This relationship we feel to the stars may indicate a memory of our ethereal lives before we came to the Earth to manifest in material bodies rather than necessarily having had material bodies out among the stars. In our star lives, we were closer to the ‘star stuff’ we are all composed of and which has now ‘solidified’ into a relatively set form due to gravity. We Silver Elves say that we are the Elves of Starlight, Moonlight and the Radiance of the Forest, and therefore in a way we are Star Elves, Moon Elves and Wood Elves. We are like many elven and elfae folk who also relate to a number of different energies, spirits and kintypes.
While the most common of the constellations that star elves feel connected to is by far Sirius and the Pleiades (and especially the Seven Sisters of the Pleiades), there are surely those elves who relate to other constellations and stars. And so in this book, which we have written for the star elves and all interested to learn about them, we will among other things define the various major constellations currently known and their individual mystical and spiritual energies and properties from our elvish point of view as they relate to or inform us of different Star Elves.
In Part One of Star Elves you will find a description of some of the various customs and magic that the Star Elves use, as well as information concerning their starry origins throughout the galaxies. Our star elf customs and magic are numerous and varied because there is so much variety in our origins in the starry skies and because elves in general tend to be such unique beings. We might add here that while an elf may originate from one particular star or constellation, we may also (before manifesting on Earth) have had countless lives throughout the universe and thus relate to more than one star or star system. It is similar to someone being born in one country, province or state on Earth and yet moving to another and later in life yet another, feeling connected to both one’s place and family of origin and also to one or more of the places and peoples where one migrates. So, when reading this book, it is important to explore all the many customs and magics of the star elves and find your own preferences. Some of the topics in Part One about star elven culture and magic include: The elven star, elven astrology, star gazing, wishing on a star, star flowers and their magic influencing the star elves, deities of star elves, star elf familiars and also astral totem animals of star elves, the meaning of the number of points in a star (symbolic expression of the points), galaxy types and their magic, star elf banners and the longevity of star elves.
Also, we will cover in Part Two of Star Elves the various magical energies of the constellations along with their stars and how this relates to the star elves originating from each. It is up to the reader as to which part to read first, you may enjoy finding the constellation and star or stars you feel closest to first in Part Two before further exploring your star magic and culture in Part One. Let your feelings guide you.
In reading this book, we hope that those Star Elves who, as yet, don’t remember what star system they originated from will be able to more closely identify their ancient relationship with the Stars. After all, our bodies are all made of star dust.
