Review of Risking it All by Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey is one of my favorite authors, and this was a book I couldn't wait to read. I preordered it and read the entire thing the day it was released.
So how was Risking it All? You know what they say about building up your expectations only to be let down? Well this was not one of those instances. This book was actually better than I hoped it would be. I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of Ruby and Troy, but I did read the novella Riskier Business in preparation of this book's release, and I think it was so much better than their full length book, His Risk to Take.

In Risking it All you'll really feel for the heroine, a police officer named Sera who goes rogue, endangering herself undercover to find the proof needed to convict the man that killed her brother. Even though she is a very likeable and strong character, Bowen is even more loveable. He is the naughty talking bad boy that all of Tessa Bailey's great books are known for. His sexy talk is so hot, and my favorite line of his to Sera is,"Ah, sweetheart, I don't fuck around with virgins." Followed up by, "But I'll get down on my knees and eat that untouched pussy like a motherfucker."
Bowen's unfortunately in a tough spot, caught between doing what's expected of him as the heir to a crime enterprise, and doing what he wants to make himself happy - just be a normal guy falling in love with a woman he cares for.
The romantic anticipation that builds between Sera and Bowen only makes the moment they give in that much sweeter.
Risking it All is a must read and I give it five stars!

The big reveal ...
All In: Calling His Bluff
It's time to officially reveal the cover for All In: Calling Her Bluff which will be released soon! If you read All In: Betting on a Full House then you've already had a sneak peak.
So, what can you expect for the third book in this series? Below is a synopsis of Dylan and Jules's story, but it doesn't even begin to tell you all the things I love about this book.
In All In: Betting on a Full House, Tyler suspects that something may have happened in Vegas between Dylan and his best friend Will's little sister. All In: Calling His Bluff takes place almost a year later, and neither Dylan nor Jules have forgotten about what happened (or didn't happen) that night.
Synopsis
Julie Reavis thinks the sorority sluts at her expensive Liberal Arts private school are all idiots. For some reason they've wrongly mislabeled Dylan, her brother Will's long time best friend (all six feet, two inches of his buff, blonde, Greek god like gorgeousness) as being gay. However, she doesn't mind using their mistake to make Dylan an indecent proposal.
After an embarrassing incident with a smoking hot frat boy, sexually inexperienced Jules asks Dylan to educate her in the bedroom, showing her how to be sexier and more desired by men. In exchange for his help, she'll pretend to be his girlfriend, including throwing in a few PDAs in front of the sorority sluts he's been lusting after for months.
Millionaire Dylan Daughtry is tired of dealing with greedy gold diggers, but he's desperate to get laid. He's so desperate that he considers going behind his best friend Will's back to teach his little sister, Jules, the art of pleasuring men in exchange for her help "getting out of the closet" and squashing rumors about his sexuality.
Dylan surrenders to the temptation of Jules's offer, and they immediately start off her sex-ed with a bang. Dylan had no idea that the sweet, shy, and innocent Jules he's known almost his whole life is a sexy little exhibitionist, or that he'd instantly become addicted to her. Now, he's irrationally jealous of the frat boy he's supposed to be helping Jules get. Dylan just can't stop thinking about her and their sexual escapades. And suddenly, the idea of Jules "experimenting" with anyone but him between the sheets, in elevators, or in parking lots turns him into a possessive, half-crazed madman.
Jules is everything Dylan's been looking for, and he knows without a doubt he'll never be able to trust any woman the way he does her. She could care less about his money, and refuses to let him spend a penny of it on her. Despite how much he wants her, he also knows his best friend will never approve of him going after his little sister, so Dylan decides to just make Jules his sexy little secret.
Jules is falling helplessly in love with Dylan, even though she knows he only sees her as a temporary booty call, part of their indecent proposal to help each other out. After Dylan's assurance that he wants more, she wonders if it's possible that he could actually be falling for her, too. She has her doubts, since Dylan made it clear that he doesn't have any plans of telling her brother the truth about what the two of them have been doing behind his back.
Despite their sneaking around, Will eventually catches Dylan and Jules in the act. He's quick to call bullshit on Dylan's confession of love, and is sure he'll end up breaking Jules's heart sooner rather than later. Will's prediction comes true when a secret Dylan has been keeping from Will and Jules is uncovered and made public, leaving Jules crushed beyond repair. Dylan suddenly realizes that the most important things in life can never be bought, even with his millions. Now he'll have to figure out a way to beg for forgiveness after hurting the one person he'd give away his entire fortune to have.
Look for All In: Calling His Bluff soon!

Spotify Playlists for Blood Drive, All In: Double or Nothing, and All In: Betting on a Full House
I've noticed that a few authors post playlists for their books and thought I'd do the same. While I'm writing there are certain songs that I feel perfectly fit the mood or emotions of the characters. There are other songs that I actually use in the books, like Sam's phone number in Blood Drive, and Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar On Me that Jess talks about dancing to in both All In: Double or Nothing and All In: Betting on a Full House. Both old and new, some songs are sweet, and some are a little naughty.
Even if you haven't read these three books, I hope you'll still enjoy the eclectic playlists! Be sure to scroll down in each box to see all of the songs.

Blood Drive is on Amazon's best seller list for the very first time!

A few days ago I didn't even know there was a "Humorous Erotica" category, but that is definitely where all but one of my published books belong. My intent in the Bound by Blood series and in the All In series is to provide readers with fun characters and hot sex scenes.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that I have two books on a best seller list. Sure, they may be ranked in the subcategories of subcategories, but I've come a long ways since my first published book last March. I'm celebrating my success because I've been in the 800,000 rankings. I really hope I don't see those six digit numbers again for a long time!

All In: Betting on a Full House is #1 on Amazon's Hot New Releases in Humorous Erotica list!

I was so surprised when I was looking at the best sellers list and saw a box on the right advertising "Hot New Releases in Humorous Erotica." All In: Betting on a Full House was ranked #1! This explains why sales have been on the rise, but I'm sure the great five star reviews have helped as well!

Above is where All In: Betting on a Full House was ranking this morning in erotica humorous and suspense, including overall at 1,059 in all paid books in the Kindle Store! I definitely credit my bump in the numbers to my book's enrollment with Kindle Unlimited. So far, it seems like a great deal for readers who can choose from a wide variety of books for one monthly fee, and authors still do pretty well with the royalty received per download.
I hope the sales and the five star reviews keep rolling in!

The future of the All In series
Book two in the All In series, All In: Betting on a Full House, was just released last week. Sales are going great, and it has already received a few awesome five star reviews!
One particular reviewer said she would have liked an epilogue to catch up with Tyler and Jess's life later on. Well, readers should be happy to know that this series will continue to have character overlaps from all the books. So, that means you haven't seen the last of Tyler or Jess.
Just as Caleb and Lauren appear in the second book, book three will include all four previous characters.
In book three, Dylan and Jules's book, you won't see as much of the other characters, but in book four, Will and Lacy's book, Jess and Lauren have bigger roles. Tyler and Caleb make brief appearances, and of course there are lots of scenes with Dylan and Jules.
The criminal defense attorney Jess goes to work for in book two, Joe Montgomery, is going to be a major character in Will's book, setting him up for his own story in book five or six, along with Lacy's ex-boyfriend, Zack who will have his own story.
I'm not sure yet which book I'll release first, Zack and Natalie's or Joe and Katie's since their timelines won't interfere with each other. Probably Zack's since it's so close to being finished and, well, I haven't even started writing Joe's. I do have an outline in my mind, I just need to write it down.
I had no idea when I first wrote about Lauren, Caleb and Tyler's love triangle that I'd have so many additional stories to share. But so far, the momentum is continuing right along in this series, which means the Bound by Blood book three, Blood Loss, has taken a backseat for a little while, even though it's well on its way to being finished. For whatever reason, I'm just not completely happy with it yet, and have to decided to let it simmer for a while.
Here's the order of the books with characters names and tentative release dates, which depends mainly on my editor's schedule:
1. All In: Double or Nothing (Lauren, Caleb and Tyler's love triangle, available now)
2. All In: Betting on a Full House (Tyler & Jess's story with all past characters, available now)
3. All In: Calling His Bluff (Dylan & Jules's story with Will, and a little Caleb, Lauren, Tyler and Jess, finished and set to be released in February 2015)
4. All In: Playing the Fool (Will & Lacy's story with Dylan & Jules, Caleb, Lauren, Tyler, Jess, Joe and Zack, almost finished and hopefully will be released around April 2015)
5. All In: Playing to Win (Zack & Natalie's story, with Will and Lacy, intro of Jake, well on its way to a final draft and hopefully will be released around June 2015)
6. All In: Raising the Stakes (tentatively named book for Joe & Katie's story with most of the past characters, not a single word written but since it's my next project, hopefully it will be released around August 2015)
7. All In: Playing for Keeps (tentatively named book for Jake & Addison's story, not even started, but hopefully will be released by the end of 2015)
As you can see, I have a lot of work to do, but it's so much fun writing about these characters. I spend several hours every single day writing, rereading and tweaking drafts. In the end, I hope you'll enjoy falling for each couple as much as I have.

Five books I can't wait to read in 2015!
Here are five books that I'm looking forward to reading in the new year. If you haven't already checked out the other books by these great authors, then you've got a little time to catch up before their new releases!
5. Garrrett (Cold Fury Hockey, Book #2) by Sawyer Bennett
Garrett is one of the hot hockey players readers got to meet in Alex, and I can't wait to read his love story when this book is released on February 17, 2015!

4. Deep (Stage Dive series, Book #4)
This book is the love story of Ben, the hot bass player of the rock group, and the off-limits Lizzy. All three previous books in this series have been incredible, and I'm sure this one will not disappoint. March 31, 2015 seems too far away!

3. Saving Avery by Angela Snyder
From the author of Vampire Next Door , one of my favorite vampire romances, comes this erotic thriller in early 2015. I'm even more excited about this one because it take place in my home state of North Carolina!

2. Risking it All (Crossing the Line series) by Tessa Bailey
This is a new series about a NYPD detective who will do whatever it takes to avenge her brother's death. If you've never read any of Tessa Bailey's books then you're really missing out. As you can tell, I'm a huge fan. At least I won't have long to wait for this one. It's set to release on January 27, 2015.

1. The Shadows (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book # 13) by J.R. Ward
This is a BDB book so what more needs to be said? It is also set to be released on March 31, 2015. I may have to call in sick that day so I can read this one and Deep as soon as possible!

All In: Betting on a Full House is now available for purchase, and can also be read for free as part of the Kindle Unlimited selection at Amazon!
Click here to buy now or download a free sample of the first few chapters!
WARNING: THIS BOOK IS HOT AND FILLED WITH EXPLICIT SEX SCENES AND ADULT LANGUAGE!
Here is a brief preview from the first chapter. I intended for readers to be able to pick up this book and get into the story with or without having read the first book. However, both characters appeared in All In: Double or Nothing, Tyler more so than Jess, so the background would be helpful for the second book.In case you've forgotten or didn't know, the second book picks up right where the first book ended, but before the epilogue, which is almost a year in the future. All In: Betting on a Full House begins right after Tyler tells Caleb in Double or Nothing he's on his way to Jess's place. This is after Lauren has picked Caleb, and ended things with Tyler.
Chapter One
Jessica Dodson
It’d been a long, shitty night. Not only did I have to deal with the usual barrage of creepy perverts and old men looking at me naked while trying to fondle me, it was also my best friend's last night at Infinity’s. I’d seen Lauren's departure coming a mile away, but it still sucked that I wouldn’t have her around to whine, bitch and complain to on the weekends. All things considered, I was hoping for a significant improvement to my night in the form of Lauren’s recently discarded, six foot, two-hundred pounds of crazy hot police officer. I wasn’t sure what the girl was thinking, choosing Caleb over Tyler, but I was grateful she’d decided to cut him loose from her threesome. And damn if my thighs weren’t already clenching and my panties getting wet just thinking about Officer Tyler Evans. There was also a sting that burned me every time I was with him, which had only been a few rounds the night before last. The thing was, I knew he didn’t give a shit about me. He was just trying to get over the woman he was in love with, who loved another man. To him I was nothing more than a willing and able warm body he could use to get himself off, and get her off his mind for a few minutes. I couldn't compete with the beautiful and sweet woman he’d give anything to have. Even knowing I could never replace her, and I'd only ever be a meaningless hook up to Tyler, I was going through a serious orgasm drought, and he was a smoking hot, panty rainmaker. I quickly ran up the stairs to my second story apartment, in a hurry to shower before my booty call. I love Jonathan to death, but I said a prayer that my kid brother was spending his Saturday night at a friend’s house. I didn't want to worry about him hearing any sounds coming from my room. Tyler knew all the right buttons to push with his tongue, fingers and cock to make me more vocal than I'd ever been during sex…not that I'd had a lot of experience. My grand total of two previous intercourse lovers would both come after touching my breasts, leaving me high and as dry as the desert. Which was why I was so eager to have another night with Tyler, a man who I could probably get off on just seeing naked. He turned me on more than any other man ever had before. I made a mental note to buy Jonathan some of those big new headphones that were all the rage with teenagers. I unlocked the front door and eased into the apartment, passing quietly by Jon’s room. I let out the breath I’d been holding when I saw his door was open and his bed was empty. Grabbing my phone while I started the shower, I sent him a quick text message to make sure he was okay and in for the night. By the time I'd scalded my skin to wash the club’s filmy layer of germs off, Jonathan had replied that he was at Nathan’s playing video games, and he was crashing there tonight. The red glow on the clock said it was two-forty five, so since I had a few minutes to spare I logged into Jon’s iCloud account to "Find his iPhone." Sure enough, he was at the corner of Market Street and Guilford College, at Nathan’s. He knew I randomly checked up on him like a good older sister, and he didn’t mind. I was lucky he was such a great fifteen-year-old. He never got into trouble at school, made straight A’s, didn’t drink or use drugs (I know because I randomly test him), and he doesn't run around town raising hell on weekends. I figured his good behavior was due to the fact that he was grateful to me for getting him out of the intolerable environment that had been our parents' house. A house where our mom was bat shit crazy eight out of seven days a week, and our dad liked to drink and regularly use his fist on us like we were his very own personal punching bags. His beatings were just the tip of the fucked-up iceberg. When I was seventeen, and in my senior year of high school, I took the money I’d been saving for a year as a part-time waitress and moved the two of us out. I had no idea how expensive living on your own was, not even stopping to think about the fact that there would be a heck of a lot more than just rent to pay. But once Jonathan and I tasted freedom from hell, it was too good to even consider giving up. I was determined to do whatever I had to in order to keep my baby brother from experiencing the degrading things my father had done to me. He had just turned eleven, the same age I'd been when my father's fists became the least of my concerns. My determination to make it on own my own is what led me to start working at a strip club three years ago in order to make ends meet. The first few weeks I'd done anything and everything in the back rooms of the shady club to pay the bills. But not anymore. Now I worked as a regular at a nicer, classier establishment, making more than enough to support the two of us, and even put some money away into savings every week. And the best part was I only worked on weekends. With that schedule I was home with Jon during the week to make sure he had dinner and company. The knock on the front door pulled me out of my stroll down memory lane. My stomach fluttered and my heart raced as I walked through the living room. Looking out the peephole to make sure it was in fact Tyler, I took a minute to appreciate how damn fine he was. His short blonde hair was messy and glistening like he’d just showered, and jean companies would pay him good money to plaster him on their billboards across the country for women to drool over. I knew that underneath the clothes smooth, golden muscles bulged and filled out every single delicious inch of him. His blue, XL t-shirt was just barely able to contain his ripped torso. I finally unlocked the door and pulled it open for him. “Goddamn, woman,” Tyler exclaimed, glancing quickly behind him on the front stoop before his warm, navy blue eyes came back around to drift up and down my naked body. He swallowed hard and then licked his luscious bottom lip. “I just got out of the shower,” I told him, omitting that it had been a long fifteen minutes ago. “Are you going to come in or just stand there staring all night?” “Oh, I’m definitely going to be coming in,” he said, flashing me a cocky smile. He thought he was being cute with his play on words. I rolled my eyes in feigned annoyance to try and prevent him from seeing how hot and nervous he made me. “Where’s the slutty nurse outfit?” he asked, his eyes twinkling in the outdoor lights while he continued to stand on the welcome mat. “In the laundry, after you soiled it the other night.” He smiled a slow, wicked sexy grin that didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Is that right? Damn, I was so drunk, the whole night is one big blur after we left the strip club.”My stomach gave a heave at his words. Shit, why did it bother me so much that he didn’t remember our amazing, sweaty night of fucking? The five best mind-blowing orgasms of my life. The only man-made orgasms of my life. My thigh muscles were still freaking sore two days later. But to someone as gorgeous as him, it was probably just one of many naked nights rolling around his bed. I knew I was just a nice little distraction, and nothing more, but that I was so damn unmemorable felt like a punch to the stomach. I didn’t even see him drink that much. “So Lauren put an end to your threesome?” I asked. I knew it was a low blow, but I was feeling defensive. I almost wished I could take the words back when he cringed and looked away. “Yeah, she did. So you don’t have to ask for her permission to fuck me anymore,” he said, that cocky ego of his instantly deflating. His expression suddenly flickered to anger as he looked at me a moment before he asked, "Did Caleb ask you to try and fuck me?""What? Did Caleb … are you serious?" I was baffled by his question, and his pissy tone. "I thought he'd set me up to cheat on Lauren." "Oh my God. No, and I can't believe you think I'd agree to do that to you."My girl Lauren had been dating, and in love, with both Tyler and his longtime best friend and roommate Caleb. The three had all lived together, and had even been getting their freak on all together for a while. The men had been in a competition of sorts for several weeks trying to win Lauren over. That deal came to a halt this morning when Lauren finally chose Caleb, after he told her he was tired of sharing and gave her an ultimatum. Caleb knew Lauren wanted him and had grown tired of her avoiding commitment by screwing Tyler just because she was scared of getting hurt. That meant Tyler had been cast away from their ménage, lost his girl and best friend, and was looking for a new place to live. When Tyler continued to stand on the welcome mat looking like a sad puppy dog I let go of my anger at his ridiculous accusation. He was trying to blame Caleb for me and him ending up together the other night while he was still technically dating Lauren. But Tyler and I had made our own decisions, and now he'd have to put on his big boy panties and deal with the consequences.“Why'd you come over Tyler? It’s obvious you’re all messed up over everything,” I asked crossing my arms over my bare chest. He ran a hand down his face before he lifted sad eyes to mine again. “I thought we were just ... screwing around, and I need … I just want …”“To fuck me to give yourself a temporary distraction from her?” I asked. He nodded and looked so pitiful. Such a big, tough, sexy man, hurting with a broken heart. That was it, I caved. I reached and grabbed a handful of his t-shirt and pulled him over the threshold, then shut and locked the door. My hands grasped the back of his neck to pull his mouth down to mine, and I kissed him with a steady determination. I would by God give him the distraction he wanted, and hopefully get the orgasms I needed. I’d erase Lauren from his mind if only for a few minutes, hopefully several times over tonight. Tyler’s talented tongue was eagerly searching in my mouth while his big, strong hands dug into my ass, lifting me up and pressing my lower body against his hips. I felt his bulge growing behind his zipper, causing need and heat to spread through my body. “Bed?” he asked deep and breathlessly. I nodded and he took us down the hall, stopping at Jonathan’s room. He pulled his mouth from mine to flip on the light and looked around the messy room with movie posters on the wall, and even a few that portrayed big breasted women. “Wrong room. Keep going,” I told him. “Damn, you mean you aren’t into double D women?” he asked. “Nope, sorry. This is my brother’s room.” “You have a brother that lives with you?” he asked, killing the mood by playing twenty questions. “Yes. Jonathan. He’s fifteen, and he’s staying with a friend tonight,” I told him, trying to predict the oncoming questions. “You’re raising him? What happened to your parents?” he asked, officially extinguishing my arousal with the mention of my folks. I slid down from his muscular arms, still facing him in the hallway, but having to look way up to see his face, since I was more than a foot shorter. “What’s with all the questions? You’re just screwing around with me so you don't have to play the “get to know me” game to get into my panties. I'm standing here naked.” He took a deep breath and a step back away from me. “Sorry. You’re right.” Despite what I’d said, I did like that he wanted to know more about me. I just wasn't ready to share the hellish details with him or anyone else. “You know what? I’m tired from walking around in five inch heels, flashing my tits and ass all night, and if we don’t stop talking and get down to it soon, I’m going to pass out.” “Maybe I should just go,” he said, sliding his hands casually into his jean pockets.“Maybe so, because honestly I’m not really in the mood anymore,” I told him, crossing my arms over my bare chest in indignation, trying not to let him see my disappointment. I wanted him, and liked being wrapped up in his strong arms. He had a way of making me feel … safe, even if he didn't care about me. It was probably just because he was a police officer.“Huh,” he replied with a grin. “I bet I could get you back into the mood.” And then he was on his knees, kneeling before me and parting my thighs with his tongue.

Unforgettable books from 2014
I've read a lot of great books in 2014, and before the year comes to a close at midnight tonight, I'd like to share my favorites. These are the ten books that, to me, offer unique and unforgettable stories and characters. They're the books that I'll go back and read again (if I haven't already) because they offer the best places to get lost. After each of them ended I was left wanting more because they were so incredible, and unable to stop thinking about them.
So here they are, in descending order to my favorite. Some are new releases and some are not, but they were ones I happened to come across and read this year. Numbering them was difficult, and some include series because they were too good to pick just one.
10. Slade and Hemy by Victoria Ashley

Victoria Ashley has these two bad boys saying and doing all sorts of naughty things that will make your panties melt. Speaking of melting,
9. Light Her Fire by Samanthe Beck

This is the second in the Private Pleasures series by Beck, and although I also loved Private Practice, the first book and the third, Falling for the Enemy, those two didn't have me laughing out loud like Light Her Fire. Seriously, Josh was hilarious. I actually had to get out of bed the night I was reading it, so I wouldn't wake my husband. This was definitely the funniest book I've read all year.
8. Tempting the Player by Jennifer Armentrout

Who doesn't love seeing a player fall hard and fast in love? This was a very unique love story. The player, a baseball star, has an image problem that he needs to fix if he wants to keep his high dollar contract with the Nationals. After having a fling with an average woman, his publicist decides this average girl is the one he needs to pretend to have a serious relationship with in the eyes of the media and the team's owners. Bridget is a funny and strong female character, and her and Chad have great chemistry.
7. Unfixable by Tessa Bailey

This is one of two Tessa Bailey books on my list. I love everything she writes, but there was something about Willow and Shane's story that I couldn't get enough of.
6. Her Twisted Pleasures, Their Twisted Love, His Twisted Choice by Amelia James

These three books are so hot you'll need to turn the air conditioner on in winter! They are kinky and some would even say have scenes considered taboo. I liked the kink, especially the very twisted love story that you've probably never come across before. I'd say they are almost dark romances, which is why I found them so appealing when compared to most of the cookie cutter boy meets girl stories out there.
5. Lick, Play, and Lead by Kylie Scott

Lick, Play and Lead me to the next book in this series! I'm so excited for Deep's release in March 2015! I'm confused as to how it already has so many Goodreads reviews, but maybe 478 people were lucky enough to get advanced copies. You'll fall in love with each member of the band. The three sexy guys are all so vastly different, and so are their love stories.
4. Crash Into Me and Drive Me Crazy by Tracy Wolff

This rocker series was neck in neck with Kylie Scott's, however I liked the couples in these two books just a tad better.
3. Officer Off Limits by Tessa Bailey (also Protecting What's His, Asking for Trouble and Staking His Claim)

A scene from the beginning of this book is what keeps it from being unforgettable in my mind. Here's a quote: "I'll set the timer for one minute. You'll have sixty seconds to prove you're not just a bunch of talk." Best sixty seconds in a book ever, and it only gets hotter from there.
2. The Kinky Bank Robbers series by Annika Martin

Bad boys, bad boys. Whatcha going to do? The three robbers in this series make me want to get held hostage. Okay, I take that back. I want to get held hostage by these three robbers. I was seriously impressed with how Annika Martin made criminals so endearing.
1.The Billionaire Bad Boys Club by Emma Holly

The title says it all. This book is about sexy bad boys that are billionaires - every woman's dream come true, right? Emma Holly left a lasting impression on me in this story, proving that sometimes two men really can be better than one when it comes to sex and love. Happy endings can come in all shapes and sizes, and this book ended with my favorite HEA of 2014.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
