Hopper and the magic Gems Press Release

Hopper and the Magic Gems

Hopper and the Magic Gems by Adam Snowflake

Hopper and The Magic Gems is a short 50 page story that tackles a magical bunny rabbit Hopper and his exploration across several kingdoms to retrieve some magic gems in order to restore peace and harmony to his world. While the initial story only lasts about 50 pages the book is fluffed with an lgbt disclaimer, an about the author and artist sections, as well as picture descriptors towards the end for blind readers marking it about at 70 pages in full. The story is meant for children and has some advanced wording in an effort to expand the young readers vocabulary. I would personally recommend the book for children anywhere between the ages of 5-11 years old.

It could also work for advanced readers who don’t mind a juvenile protagonist as well. The story opens with a piece by Raven my narrator character who often narrates a majority of my stories in my “Frosted” canon so to speak. All you really need to know about Raven is that she’s daughter to Anansi the Spider and dreams of being the ultimate storyteller.

But Hopper and the Magic Gems isn’t about Raven it just opens up with her telling you the story. As most of my stories do. Most (not all) my stories exist in the same universe, see my giant crossover fic “The Frost” if you want more info about that Hopper and the Magic gems isn’t a manga or an comic book but it is illustrated. It is illustrated by the lovely Chewubi of Instagram The book is padded out with these illustrations and they are done in full color in a cute aesthetic that resembles an sweet anime chibi style. The story is filled with her lovely illustrations that breathe life into the pages. Overall Hopper and the Magic Gems is a story I’ve been working on and planning on sharing for a long time and now that it’s out I’m really proud of it.

It retails on kindle (you can read with the app on your computer once you buy it through there) for about 5$ and on amazon for about 15$ I know that price might seem high for such a short book but given the self publishing platform it was the minimum listing price in order to get expanded distribution (aka selling on other platforms beyond Amazon). Kindle has an app you can download on the computer if the price seems too high and you can have the book bought and read digitally via that app if you’d rather pay the 5$ price. I make hardly anything off of it either way so it doesn’t matter to me too much.

Overall this book was a high key labor of love and I really hope it reaches an audience. It took a long time to write, format, review, rewrite, re-format, and send off to Chewubi for art to be drawn. It’s something I truly and utterly adore so I hope you like reading it as much as I did writing it. I don’t often feel proud of my work but this just might be the exception.

I'm sorry for the Kingdom diaries

I've come to the conclusion based on what everyone has told me that this book is a piece of sh@t. Sorry ok? Sorry for advertising it. Sorry for the posts about it. Sorry for talking about it like spending a year on it like it was worth anything. Sorry for writing a sh@@y story that's full of "special snowflakes" as people have said. Sorry for writing "tumblr the fanfiction" sorry for writing a book with nb characters like me. Sorry for selling this piece of shit. Sorry for writing about sexuality like its a good thing. Sorry for my sh@tty grammar and spelling that was intentional to show the characters lack of an education despite being incredibly smart. Sorry for writing about people like me, and others who don't have a voice.
This has nothing to do with one post in particular. Or even one specific message. It has everything to do with people's opinions as a whole.
im f#king sorry ok?

If they hate you

It doesn't matter if people hate your book. It doesn't matter if they fear you the filth of the planet. It shoudn't matter if you feel bad for creating your masterpeice. What does matter is that it caused such a strong enough reaction to make someone that upset so imagine all the good it could cause.

Florist Chang is white? The problem with asumptions

The kingdom diaries by Adam Snowflake ok so i was showing my story to a couple freinds and they all made the same asumptions about my book the kingdom diaries.

A. Flrorist is white

B. Andray is white

C. Otherkin was created for the book.

um no…I’m just going to clear this up on tumblr. Florist is chinese, her last name is Chang and she even says she’s not white at one point, Otherkin was not created for the purpose of this book, they were simply included in the book, Andray is black. I seiriously don’t know what about the name andray spells out white. I think it’s because he’s jewish and people asume their for he must be white.

important note: the only charecters that will ever have their race described in Flrorists telling of the story are charecters that are white. She grew up in a kingdom where white people wern’t commen, so to her they are the only ones who race is worth describing because to her they are foregin.

Examples: “he had skin the colour of uncooked marshmellows”

"she has an odd apearence as well, pail skin…"

"he was frail and had pail skin"

ect ect. Florist is from an almost all poc kingdom, so to her white people stand out. this also adds to why she doesn’t process that she’s expeireincing racist microagressinons in the book when they happen

"many people asume when they meet robin that they don’t speak english some people make that asumption about me as well…"

"people always stare…"

"people judge me more for my apearence than you would think"

It also explains how when she does experience blatant racism in Rohet she is shocked, stunned, and disgusted rightfully claiming the kingdom as evil.

Florist as a character comes from an intresting backround and thus doesn’t understand many things. She completly misses that her best freind has a crush on her. She totally misgenders practicly every charecter, she doesn’t understand gender roles or even process what they are.

She’s a supportive charecter but she also misses a lot of things. So be aware of that when reading the book.

If you want a free copy message me and if your willing to do a liveblog, tumblr and or goodreads review I’d be happy to send you one.

things people miss about the kingdom diaries

Patter is overly nice to florist because she likes her

Andray is black, jewish and autistic. He also keeps kosher
The list in the first few chapters contains easter egs.

Florist is chubby and dresses masculin.

Patter and Andray are both really good friends not in spite of their religions but because of the simelarities between their religions.

Andray is visibly autistic.

Florist copes with being bullied by thinking she's perfect.

Patter joined the allies to prove that muslims that are just as capable as anyone else. Showing that their is islamaphobia in her kingdom.

Same gender marrige is banned in the kingdom of stran.

Florist experiences racism at the training grounds (mostly microagressions)

Robin also faces racism at the training grounds.

People stare at the main group in tissfim because none of them are white in tissfim.

all the names of the kingdoms are the names of the sexualities rearagned, bi becomes ib, missfit becomes tissfim, homo becomes ohmo, and demi becomes dime.

Tissfim is racist (not as racist as rohet but racist)

The seperation was created to end privlige and discrimination but ended up causing more.

You can be retested and sent away to a different kingdom having to leave your freinds and family behind regardless of your wants

you can leave your kingdom any time to go to tissfim but you can't ever return to your kingdom.

Each kingdom is monitered by the allies.

The allies work with the emperess

Royals are voted upon in some kingdoms
