@Juani okay I went through some of my notes on storygraph and it seems like around 30% in (not sure how many pages in that is) is when things start getting a little tense. I apparently had a lot of thoughts 40% in though 😅😅 some of my notes are hilarious

Arobynn hands down. Erawan is a literal demon king and Maeve is just as bad (I don't want to spoil anything for you) but their inherently evil. Arobynn is human and a fucking asshole (forgive my language) he purposely put Celeana and Lyssandra against each other cuz he was into them, and the whole thing that happened in AB with Sam was fucked up

ACOTAR was my gateway into the SJM universe but ToG is my favorite hands down

ugh I feel so bad for Gavriel, I love him so much

have you read any of SJMs other series? if so how does ToG compare

yeeea that wasn't one of Aedions finest moment, but boy does he end up eating his worlds
my favorite characters are Manon, Chaol (he really grew one in ToD), Elide, and obviously Aelin, Rowan, and and Dorian. I love the cadre too! I love Fenrys so much, Gavriel has such a beautiful quiet strength, and I'm so obsessed with Lorcan.
my top ToG men are Rowan, Lorcan, Dorian and Chaol are tied (Chaol might be a lil higher 🤭)

who are your favorites characters and favorite couples so far

it's most definitely a journey and it starts off super rough and painful. there are some good moments to lighten the mood. the majority is just one big ass mountain you gotta climb, but the is nice and everyone is okay for the most part and get to live on

with theories that you have I think Tower of Dawn is going to blow your mind, or at least throw you for a loop lol
and for Kingdom of Ash just make sure you have all of the tissues and snacks, you will definitely need it

these are such good theories, some of them are close lol
I can't wait for you to see what happens and how everything comes together!

what are some theories you have about how ToD will end and what's gonna happen in KoA

or what would make it worse would be when we just finished a high stress chapter to go into another high stress storyline with another character. like some shit will be going on with Aelin that chapter would end with no resolution and then we'd cut to Manon and the shit her grandmother pulled. giving me heart palpitations every other freaking chapter

dude it bothered me so much!!! like I just want to know what's happening like I'd Aelin okay? did someone die? is someone dying? SLIGHT SPOILER FOR EMPIRE OF STORMS Miss ma'am I have questions that need answering but instead we cut to Lorcan and Elide pretending to be circus entertainers. like yes those chapters were very entertaining and definitely added to their story but like I'm I'm anxious and panicking right now I would very much like to know if everyone is okay pls and thank you

the ending is nice and ties everything beautifully I think.

if she were to write another ToG book I'd love an assassin's blade style where it's a bunch of novellas maybe 5 or 10 years after KoA and see how everyone is doing and what's happened since the end of the war. a cute lil catch up

@Juani at first I didn't think much about their relationship and just thought it was superficial but the way their relationship grows in EoS and in KoA it's so deep

@Vorheesacker I feel like each of the pairs compliment each other very well, but there's just something about Lorcan and Elide that I love so much. I feel like their relationship could have stayed platonic and they could have been besties but they saw deeper and just connected in a way that makes them such a great couple. I don't know how far into KoA you are but I can't wait for you to see how their relationship grows 🥰

I like their bond a lot. I feel like they both seek safety and security and they find that in each other. after what happened to Sorscha in HoF and then everything he goes through in QoS he doesn't want to be weak nor does he want to be with somebody who is "weak" or easily hurt (I hope you catch my drift I don't want to spoil for other people lol)
and Manon I think I just wants to be truly accepted and loved and feel safe with somebody. her grandmother is a bitch and put her through hell, and then finding out how shady her grandmother is and learning her background she needed someone strong and steadfast.
I feel she needed someone to help be strong for her, and he needed someone to be strong for.

he spends all of KoA trying to atone for his fuck up in EoS and get Elide to forgive him. and I love when a man grovels lol.
there is a scene in KoA between Lorcan and Elide at had my heart in my ass. I was was feeling all the emotions; stressed, panicked, relieved, sobbing.

but with Elide and Lorcan I feel like they're love was unexpected. in Queen of Shadows Lorcan called Rowan stupid and weak because he was in love/falling in love with Aelin. when Lorcan meets Elide they kinda see each other as a means to an end. she needs him for protection and he just wants to get information out of her, but as time goes on and they start learning about each other the become kinda friends and then start falling. and I believe Lorcan fell first and he fell hard he didn't even realize he was falling for her until he had already fell.
Elide brings out his softness and he brings out her courage and strength
