I love Aelin and Rowan and the bond they created but I knew they were gonna be endgame from the moment we met Rowan. it was like expected that they would end up together because of how it was when they first met and how their story panned out. your typical enemies to lovers with a training arc. I love what they were able to do for each other and help each other through their traumas which was reflected in the other person. they're like mirrors of each other and I think that's really beautiful.

I definitely agree that there was like an information overload in EoS

lol yeah that's normal and to be expected cuz he royally fucked up at the end of EoS SPOILERS FOR EMPIRE OF STORMS he called maybe for a reason but didn't expect things to go the way they did. but trust that man GROVELS throughout KoA and Elide is a fucking queen I love her.
I love Chaol and Yerene for what they are and do for each other, their story is of healing and growth. they both carry so much hurt and shame and find grace and acceptance in each other. I think the way their relationship grows is beautiful

my favorite couple is Elide and Lorcan I don't want to saw much cuz it'll spoil for KoA but that man GROVELS and then maybe Aelin and Rowan or Yerne and Chaol (their tied for 2nd place)

my aunt started the series and started with ToG and messaged me this morning that she's 10 chapters in and is so confused. so I was like did you read AB first? she had not so I told her to stop reading ToG and to read AB first, cuz she's like me in wanting to understand and know the character

lol thaaanks I love them all so much but I think vibes, story and emotional impact that's a pretty good ranking.
When customers would tell me they like a flashback/aha moment I would recommend to read AB after CoM too, just cuz I feel it flows better, doesn't take you out the the story like too much, and helps set you up for the journey Celeana goes through.

I used to work at a bookstore so anytime I would recommend this series I would ask if they like knowing who the character is and having a pretty basic understanding of who the character is starting out or if they like flashback episodes/aha moments when everything finally starts to piece in. and then depending on their answer would it be which book I would recommend they start on and when I think they should read AB

I think one of the most controversial things I've noticed within the community is the order in which to read the series. some people believe you should read Assassin's Blade first, some believe you should read it after CoM or HoF. some people even go as far as splitting up the novellas and Assassin's Blade and alternating between a novella and one of the main books.
When I first read the series I read Assassin's Blade first and personally I'm so happy I did. I'm the type that likes to know who the character is and have an understanding of who they are, and I feel it just really helped me understand Celeana so much more and it made it feel a little more emotional as well (SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST FEW BOOKS) like when she talks about writing the Asterion horses in the desert, for every time she says I will not be afraid. I feel it also made her healing journey in HoF more impactful knowing her backstory

oooo fun! okay so for me I think
1. KoA
2. QoS
3. ToD
4. EoS
5. AB
6. HoF
7. CoM
8. ToG

@Juani yes that's the one but I think there's just a little more to it that happens in KoA (I might be wrong and just combining two things together) but it has to do with the wyrdgatss
I might cuz I can literally talk about the series for hours 😅
My aunt just started the series and I'm reliving the journey through her lol. it's also killing me not being able to say anything because she's literally on Assassin's Blade right now so she is just starting her journey

I love this series so much I can write a whole dissertation on it with a PowerPoint presentation to go along 😅😅

@Vorheesaker Make sure you have emotional support snacks and a comfy blanket and many many tissues. Kingdom of Ash is quite literally a journey and at the end I felt like I was saying goodbye to my best friends.
I love Chaol so much. Even in Queen of Shadows when I wanted to punch him it was like when your friend is being really stupid you just want to slap some sense into them. I really started to love him and his character during the Tower of Dawn though, his healing journey and character development is so amazing. and to be real every character in the series has some amazing character development.

wait until you understand the meaning of "nameless is my price"

@juani ummm so I rate pretty generously so for
Assassin's Blade 4/5
Throne of Glass 4.5/5
Crown of Midnight 5/5
Heir of Fire 5/5 (I really fell for Rowan)
Queen of Shadows 5/5
Empire of Storms 5/5
Tower of Dawn 4.75/5
Kingdom of Ash ♾️ (it's that good)

picking my favorite character is so hard cuz I love them all so much. but honestly it's probably Manon, Rowan, or Elide (aside from Aelin cuz she's just a badass)
I want too crazy about HoF either. It took me a while to get into it, cuz same I felt like there were too many new people introduced but I love the second half and ending. it kinda tied everything together nicely. QoS WAS SO FREAKING GOOD! I loved everything about it!!

yes I finished the whole series and I honestly give a 10/10. I read all 3 series she's written and ToG is the best imo.
KoA ABSOLUTELY BROKE me I cried every time I read it. if it wasn't trauma and pain it was the gang getting back together, or unexpected moments that move you.

I promise things start to pick up once you into the hallway mark and so many questions get answered, and they kinda find a way to defeat the valg/Erawan.
in my first read of the series I did a tandom read of EoS and ToD it was brutal but I liked how it all flowed since both books take place at the same time. so I went through trauma at the end of EoS and then the high stress from the end of ToD

(SPOILERS FROM THE BOOK UP TO TOWER OF DAWN) I totally understand. I wanted to punch him so many times throughout Queen of Shadows but I kinda took it as him trying to figure out where he fits in the world and in the group. he was molded to be the perfect soldier and always has this blind faith and trust in the king and in the things he "knew" to having the floor pulled out from under him. like with finding out Dorian has magic and Aelin not only being Aelin but also fae. as the only human he most definitely got a rude awakening and it becomes more apparent in Tower of Dawn especially when Yrene tries to heal him.

omg you like Chaol too!?!?
