I just tried and it told me the request took too long. It's a big list. I'll try again later.

I'm on team Aragorn. I don't know about anyone else, but I think he's the coolest character.

Green Eggs and Ham is a great book.......not for a YA list so I'm so with you on that one!!!!!

I'm with you, Christina. Harry Potter is an epic character who changed the lives of thousands, mine included. He should be at the top of ANY list!!!

Ms.B--
I just graduated 8th grade this year, and every single girl in my class (including me!)is obsessed with the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Mass. These books are really popular, so chances are you already have them! There are three books in the main series, as well as a prequel. The fourth book comes out on September 1st!!(I can't wait!!)
Hope this helps!
P.S. I'm so glad you have popular books on the class shelves! When I was in seventh grade the teachers only had 'educational' books on the shelves... :)

Sydneyct912 Shwetika wrote: "well..... I am a supporter of twilight.. a huge fan of it actualy."I personally do not like twilght. I mean what does Bella actually do? Because all she does is sit around. In other books like Percy Jackson and Harry Potter the girl characters actually do stuff like help the boys.

message 1069: by Sydrian (new)

Sydrian Agreed! I also disliked how dependent Bella was on her bf, like she physically could not be without him. That is not healthy.

message 1072: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra Shelley wrote: "Has anyone thought of an older series in which several books are already out? I am DESPERATE to get busy reading - but do not want to just go buy books - would rather follow recommendations. :0) ..."

Ummm... The Throne of Glass series, if you haven't read it. Very good. And the The Name of the Wind, although that's only got a couple of books out. Oh, and The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making - there are four of those.

And of course the marvellous Discworld series by Terry Pratchett. 41 books, and the order doesn't really matter - just pick one up you like the look of and read.

message 1073: by Louise (new)

Louise Culmer many of the books on this list seem to be for children rather than 'young adults'. can Charlie and the Chocolate factory really be a Young adult book for instance? Or Charlotte's web?

message 1074: by Fajer (new)

Fajer WOW this book shelf is not accurate at all

message 1083: by Mitchell (new)

Mitchell Friedman a new list that could use your votes The Most Popular Young Adult Books on Goodreads. To be on this list, a book needs to be for young adults AND have at least 100,000 ratings.

message 1084: by Cindy (new)

Cindy I don't understand. I love Dan Brown and Khaled Hosseini - only two examples - but they're not YA. So I don't vote for them.

message 1085: by Lara (new)

Lara Harry Potter is the best book because it has a good plot, good characters and it's a beautiful story. Twilight is good but the plot is very cliché and the characters act with no sense sometimes.

message 1086: by Kate (new)

Kate Why are Where the Wild Things Are and The Giving Tree on this list exactly?

message 1087: by Tricia (new)

Tricia Cinder and the Selection deserve to be higher on this list. These books are amazing.
