Jamie Stewart The Mystery of Above - my wife and I were staying at a hotel in Menorca, one night while we were lying in bed I woke up to the sound of footsteps, heavy footsteps, trudging around in the floor above us. As I lay bed listening to whoever, or whatever, was stalking around up there I remember the check-in girl at the lobby saying as we checked in that our room was on the top floor. Yet, as I lay there in bed hearing that noise it did not sound like someone was on the roof more that there was a new floor above ourselves.

In the morning I discovered that this was indeed correct by checking the staircase. They ended on our floor.
