I planned my son's engagement party using Pinterest. It was awesome. And his fiance is using it for the wedding. And my oldest daughter is using it to plan her wedding. Though she's not allowed to post until she has finished her Med school applications. Such incentive!!

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments Good afternoon everyone!

description description description

Dangerously Determined to Devour All Books Team - We all had a lot of fun last month when the captains challenged you to beat us in a read-off. Well, we've decided to do it again! (I know, crazy, right!)

We are going to change it up a bit. From March 28th to April 7th, can you read 4 times as many pages as Leslie, Vi and I read as a group? Yes, that means if we read 1,000 pages, you will need to read 4,000 pages.

We have decided to not include audio books for this challenge. And in order for the book to count, you must post the page count here. All other challenge rules apply.

Books can be started at any time but must be finished between the dates above.

I do believe it's Game On!

message 1511: by Donna (new)

Donna Wolczyk | 75 comments I also have a question about changing my goals. I said I would read 30 books this year. I joined Goodreads late 2012, so just guessed a number. I am already at 18 books for the Tower Team challenge, and 19 for the year. Who should I speak to about increasing my goal. I don't want to do it on my own, without permission if it is going to skew the team numbers. If someone could let me know, I would appreciate it. Thanks all!! :)

Donna - if you want to change your goals, let me know your new total and message the Nothing but Reading Challenges Moderator to let them know. You can find their link on the main page. If you signed up for Round II, please make sure they know you want to update that number as well.

message 1531: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments I had a looong gap between GoT and this. I remembered the major plot points but not those minor ones. Once I started going, it came back to me. But the climax sorta disappointed me though. It didn't live up to the buildup. I'm so eager to start the next book.

I love door stoppers! It gives me a sense of accomplishment though my GR widget is now scolding me.

@Melissa - I read LoD before I ever read the Demonica series. It was so crazy!! I couldn't figure out the world and had never read anything like that. But I became obsessed. Now I'm on #3 of Demonica.

message 1538: by ~Melissa~ (new)

~Melissa~ @Leslie ~ that would definitely be hard to follow starting out that way, lol. Glad you liked Demonica ~ the horsemen and their "world" probably make a little more sense now. Every time I think I can read the next in that series something comes up and I can't get to it.

Leana (Flickering Fandom) (flickeringfandom) | 264 comments @Rebecca - it's on me for the mini challenge idea? How exciting!

@Rhonda - Congratulations! 10 mystery books in a month is a definite achievement!

@Vi - Well done on finishing A Clash of Kings - I found it the hardest of the series to get through, but it picks up again in Storm of Swords, and I basically read the whole rest of the series in one go!

For the read-off I've finished In Too Deep by Portia Da Costa at 269 pages and This Dark Endeavor (The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein, #1) by Kenneth Oppel at 298.

message 1547: by Rebecca NJ (new)

Rebecca NJ (njreader) | 2120 comments Faith - the next mini challenge will be your idea. You can PM Leslie with your ideas. I can't wait to see what you have in mind!

Rhonda - someone will be in touch with you about the month long challenge. I can't wait to hear your idea.

Great job everyone on the Captain's Challenge. A question came up regarding page numbers. Try to use whatever format you read. If the page numbers are available in your format, use something similar. Hope that makes sense to everyone.

Have a great weekend!

You get to pick April's "theme". February was Romance and March was Mystery. That's a perk of being a winner for one of our challenges.

message 1550: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda | 550 comments Hummm, perk. I'm a follower, not a leader. I'll start thinking about it. Suggestions from someone with "experience" would be appreciated if allowed.
